 kepthishead started following you
It was a typical summer day, nothing terrible was going on neither did there seem to be danger after all the things that happened. But it felt different.
Cold.. the blond seemed to be shaking at what he was seeing not far away from him. Standing there in his black coat with his usual expression towards Oz.
âPull yourself together, Vessalius.â
Yes, that was him. Thatâs what heâd tell him now, the child of the Nightrays he had become friends with a long time ago, butâŠÂ he died, didnât he?
âââââââââââ-â, silence. He could not bring himself to say a word, staring at his friend in front of him, it was him, it must be him, everything inside him was telling Oz that it definitely was him, Elliot Nightray.
âE-Elliot?â
Why did he always have to make that surprised face like he had just seen a ghost, was Elliot that intimidating? No he wasn't, yet the Vessalius brat would always open his eyes wide and stare at him in disbelief it turned annoying at times, plenty were the times he had to stay back from slapping him back into reality.Â
"No, Gilbert obviously, I am Gilbert. Look at my dark hair and golden eyes, I am Gilbert how could you deceive me with Elliot."
Sarcasm at it's finest, god, how much he wanted to slap him right now to snap him out of it. What was his problem this time? The noble boy snapped his fingers and waved his hand right in front of the face of the Vessalius boy. "Hey, HEY I'M RIGHT HERE LOOK AT ME!"
"I took that hand, not knowing the consequences."

[Shorty? Shorty. Elliot never learns.Â
Leo gives a small sigh, before balling his right hand into a fist, and giving Elliot a good punch in the arm. The guy can take it. Heâs supposed to have realized by now that the noirette didnât exactly like being called short - even if he was. Besides, it will be really troublesome to get kicked out. The library was - what was it called again? - air conditioned. The building served as a sanctuary from the worldâŠand its heat.]
âIt was a reflex.â [How bothersome. But perhaps he will make an exception. All this time could be spent in much more agreeable conversation, and it is Elliot. Still, first things first. And then catching up and listening to Elliot be sentimental.] âIf anything, youâre distracting me. For someone who complained about my making a small noise, you sure are being very loud.â
[Same old, same old. Theyâve fallen right back into their old habits, and now itâs not quite so lonely anymore, and thereâs always something to look forward to. Leo wonât actually say this out loud, though, but he has a feeling Elliot knows.Â
Itâs been a while since the two have had a decent conversation. Leo kind of misses it. No, he definitely does. Perhaps he should relent. Thereâs plenty of time to argue later - they have all the time in the world, now that thereâs no more Lutwidge. All that needs to done is to travel between their villages.]
âBut letâs all calm down, shall we? If we settle this now, we may still be able to remain in the library. Theyâre pretty lenient about things like this.â
[This is Leoâs way of saying heâs sorry.]
Why did he always have to say things that would push Elliot off the ledge? Leo is well aware of the limit of his master's temper, yet he never held back to make smart comments that would put him in a bad mood. "I don't need you...saying this to me!" He is right, now Elliot was acting like a moron being loud in the sanctuary mean while Leo got away with it, again per usual the fool looking one was the Nightray. Irked him endlessly when it happened, his servant knew which buttons need to be pushed in order to get him worked up. Never failing.
This was over all embarrassing, the librarian could show up in any moment and kick them both out of one of the only places he actually enjoyed visiting in this place. And all because of his short temper. "I... you know what?" The noble boy placed the book on a nearby fence and walked straight to his servant. Staying inside the library at this point was pointless, he was going to end up yelling again, who was he going to fool pretending Leo wasn't going to get on his nerves again making those annoying comments. And thus he grabbed Leo by his sleeve and dragged him out of the building.
It didn't feel any different from being at Lutwidge, he would always get lectured for getting loud in the library of the academy however... He wasn't planning to gain such reputation in this island, he wasn't going to let Leo win. Stupid servant he was at times. Pretending he knew more than Elliot, telling him what to do, he was all grown up, and he had always known how to act he is an educated man after all. There was no need of any of it, did the shorty ever cared about that? Nope, he only wanted to piss Elliot off for his own amusement when he was done reading a book.
But the youngest of the Nightray family wasn't about to just let go of his anger. Not so easily. Once they were both standing outside the building no one could tell him to stay quiet or lower his voice.
"SEE, IF YOU DIDN'T TAKE OVER MY NERVES I WOULDN'T HAD DONE THIS? WE COULD STAY INSIDE AND READ, BUT NO... YOU HAD TO GET ME STARTED."
Although, now that he really thought of it, he was reading a rather interesting book, that could explain the flying whale of the other day... "... I saw a flying whale..." Was he going to believe it? He's going to mock him, he is so going to make fun of Elliot.Â
{closed @elliot}
Alice crossed her arms, simply glaring at him, but she left it at that. You couldnât expect to ever have a normal conversation with this guy without him getting pointlessly mad at her and looking all mad like this; at least thatâs what she was thinking.Â
âHow scary~. Iâm sure you would have become a terrible strong chain no one would be able to defeat, eh~?â The timing for mocking him probably couldnât been worse and the fact that she was laughing at him like this now wasnât the best idea either. She made fun of whoever she wanted to whenever she wanted to, not thinking even a second about the consequences. Her laughter quickly died though and her expression became less less amused.
âHumpty Dumpty is pretty dangerous, isnât he? It wouldâve been pretty tough to defeat him, so I guess you did the right thing or else everyone else wouldâve been screwed. Iâm not blaming you for anything, so calm the heck down. Everyone was just.. pretty upset, so I started to feel a bit bad, too. Thatâs all.â
She wasnât completly dense. She noticed he started to be.. stressed or something because of this topic, so she didnât ask more about it. She had got her answers; she knew now what happened all in all, so it was fine. His decision to reject his chain even made sense, so she couldnât really judge him.
What she regretted was that she had even brought the past up. She could have guessed before already that he wouldnât stay silent and ask about it. Damn.
âAs much as Iâd love to tell you that IÂ know the answer and just wonât tell you because you are stupid, I canât. I lost my memories. I canât remember anything from back then. I got only very few of them back, but there is still too much missing. I donât know how I became a chain, so stop asking me about it already.â
How frustrating that she couldnât even explain the origin of her existence. The most simple thing, and she still didnât know about it. Gaaah, this was beyond troublesome.Â
âI think the day I died is the same day the Tragedy happened. Iâm not really sure how this is linked with each other though.. Why do you even care about it anyway?âÂ
Her initial attitude changed as soon as he questioned her about her own past, how pitiful to not know where she comes from, obviously it was only the memory of a chain, but this was enough answer to tell, that chains ... "You felt sick that night...?" Oh yeah, that seal in Yura's mansion making chains go insane if used... Vincent explained that to them as they were looking for the both Leo and this girl... "It was because of the seal..." Did Oz not tell her about that thing? He probably did, or maybe she just ignored Oz as he spoke. "It controlled all the chains, Humpty Dumpty however wasn't affected because I left the place to find Leo..."Â
Humpty a strong chain? Well it did have enough power to change his memories and turning his reality vague, it also controlled his will at times, he remembered that after freeing himself from the mental power it had over him. "Humpty changes your memories and controls you mentally... I did not realise this until too late..." Why was he even saying this to her? "It wasn't until I realised that I was the contractor that my real memories came back to me, I could say, it was something like, numbing the pain so it can have full power over your will. When I rejected it as a least resource it tried to control me again..."
She died the same day the tragedy happened but has no memories... The tragedy that ruined his family as well. "See, rabbit... " What was her name in the end? He did recall Oz calling her that way but never used a sourname... "Alice Baskerville. That's who you were before you became a chain. You know what they say about the Baskerville family don't you, Alice?"

âDo you always have to yell at me like this?! Goddamnit, itâs not my fault if you hear things I never said!â She had never implied that he knew why, she was merely stating her opinion, nothing else. No matter what she said, this guy always started to freak out. Was there even any chance that he could stay calm and talk like a normal person or was he not able to do this? Even she could be quiet at times, but Elliot..
No reason to worry though, itâs not like itâs new to her that he was an idiot. Besides he was a human too, so was it that wrong that she had expected him to somehow understand how their brains worked? They often made no sense at all to her, so she had just assumed that he maybe knew, but fine. Fine.
âCan you stop getting mad at me when I didnât even insult you? Thatâs stupid! You arenât meant to get angry, when I didnât even do anything. I donât say itâs a bad thing you rejected your chain and.. to be honest I wouldnât even know what I had done in your position, so calm down.â
It was rare that she was the one trying to calm someone else down, when she usually was the one whose temper could only hardly be stopped, but all this talking about the end of a contract probably bothered her more than she would ever admit it.
 âWait⊠how did you become a chain?â
And why.. why did he have to ask her something like this? Well, Alice could just hiss at him and refuse to give him any answer, but annoying as he was he wouldnât let her get away with this probably, so..
âI.. I donât know, okay? I was a human 100 years ago and the Baskervilles locked me into a tower or something like that. And I died, but.. I donât really know what happened or how I ended up becoming a chain.âÂ
She wondered if she should just run away to escape from this topic and just avoid Elliot for the rest of her life. She wasnât upset or anything that she had died or whatever else happened; that Alice wasnât her, but still it wasnât really pleasant for her. âSorry.â She mumbled absent-minded, as he refused to do fulfill her request, but she didnât really care anymore and just stared away.
Yelling? He wasn't yelling, well he was loud... but nothing more than that... it was bothersome, she would always make a stupid comment and then expect him to take it just calmly. He would never do something like that, why didn't Oz just teach her how to act in the human world. She was posing as one wasn't she? "Tch..." Then again, he had already seen people acting the same reckless way she did, so this wasn't surprising to him, not at all, it was really just annoying, endlessly annoying.
Why did she have to question him about the night in Yura's mansion? He would love to just avoid the whole topic... and this was really uncomfortable for him, even though he managed to talk about it with his sister, it seemed that Leo rather denied everything that happened that tragic night... "Listen, it was the best thing to do..." Elliot paused for a moment, the sole memory of Vincent's words that time... asking if he rather have his brother or Oz killing him... "Rejecting Humpty Dumpty was the only way to end it all, my mistakes... If I hadn't done that, not only the chain would have managed to come back to this world, but I too, could've faced that destiny, becoming a chain and live in the Abyss..."Â
A noble like him simply giving in to his soul? No, that wasn't his way of doing things, and he in no ways would ever dare to leave his problems on someone else's shoulders... "Shut up already..." Why the sudden change of attitude though? She even excused herself? Oh, so the whole thing that happened to her 100 years ago was a touchy topic huh... "Just answer me, as I gave you a fair answer to your interrogative...how can you not know? Did you contract a chain back then?" 100 years ago, a Baskervi--- SHE'S A BASKERVILLE? "Baskerville?!!!! You were... alive when the tragedy happened?"
She saw the tragedy... of Sablier? She had seen all of this? She lived this? "So you lived the time of the tragedy...."

âIf you humans wouldnât be so fucking dense and blindly make contracts with any dumb chain they can find, this also could be prevented.â The girl growled in reply and rolled her eyes. She got his point somehow, but the way he made it sound.. as if only the chains were to blame and humans were oh so innocent. But of course the great Elliot Nightray had to be right with everything he said!! God, how much she hated his guts.Â
He wasnât wrong with everything he said; even Alice had to admit that. There were other people she could stand even less than him and there had to be.. anything good about Elliot, since Oz had wanted to be his friend so much, but on the other hand her contractor really could be a dumbass..
âYou dodged my question, so Iâm right, arenât I? You rejected your chain and thatâs why you died.â She wasnât dumb. The way he had refused to answer could only imply that it was the truth. âWell, maybe this decision was correct. Death surely is better than being in that hell. Not like a prig like you would survive too long in the Abyss anyway. Chains would love to play around with someone like you.â
Thinking about this actually almost made Alice laugh, but she hold it back. Of course she wouldnât even care, if she had laughed, but she didnât really want to get in some dumb fight with this guy again. It resulted in the same all the fucking time anyway and there was something she wanted to know and he seemed to have some knowledge about stuff and since there wasnât really anyone else she could askâ-
âCan you answer me a question maybe? Or do you just ignore all of them, no matter what they are about?â
There was truth in her words, the noble had to admit that. Humans too, were foolish, contracting just any chain, then again, the 'strongest good chains' were only for dukedoms and the heirs of them... and if servants were lucky would get a good chain as well. It was sort of what was the word? Monopolized... probably, since Pandora was the only one to agree to people making contracts... "YOU SAY IT LIKE I KNOW WHY THEY DO THAT!" Â He really didn't know, he didn't know he was making an illegal contract back then, he just did what Leo told him to, but he was more than sure, Leo meant no harm in any sense.
The comment though, she didn't let it just slide away, she wanted to know, and this was annoying, it was none of her concern, why he did what he had done, or how he did it. "Excuse you?" Even if she was right, it didn't make it any easier to have such conversation with a chain. Specially an annoying one, like her. "Yes, I rejected the chain, WHAT THE HELL DID YOU EXPECT ME TO DO? End up in the abyss just like you did?"Â
Her words were infuriating, she never shut her mouth, he wasn't a weakling but he was not going to become a chain. Then again, did she have an illegal contract and died because of it? Most of the chains used to be illegal contractors, right... so she was one back in the time? "Wait... how did you become a chain?" This was beyond him, had she ever been an illegal contractor? Why did she resemble to a human though?Â
"Answer you a question?" He could answer her questions however her attitude never helped her case... "If you stopped being an arrogant brat, I could consider it, but seeing as you are a savage, my answer will be no." She wanted answers? Then a change of her forsaken attitude would come handy.

[Calmâthe library is always calm, just it should be. Leo canât say heâs glad that so little people bother to read, but nonetheless, heâs grateful; it means he has the place to himself, for the most part.Â
The boy lets out a small yawn. Heâs been sitting in the same position all morning. Perhaps itâs time to stretch? Thereâs a crick in his neck, and the fact heâs leaning against a hard bookcase isnât doing anything to help. Oh, but itâs so tempting to continue on like this! Especially when there are so many books within his reach. Still. He has to get up sometime, if only to add to his growing stacks of books.
What was it again? Bidwell? Leo doesnât exactly put things back where he found them, but he knows exactly where to look, his fingers deftly picking out elusive volume. Only this timeâ]
âItâs checked out?â
[What a shame. Luckily for Leo, there are plenty of other things to read. For example, the excerpt heâs been silently reciting to himself for days, now. The funny thing is, other than that little tidbit, he knows next to nothing of the book. Well, that and the fact itâs from his world. How did it go again?
âŠThere once was a man who loved chrythanthemums. And because he loved them, he placed them everywhere they would grow, so he might see the flowers at every possible moment.
Or something along those lines. Leave it to Leo to get a story stuck in his head. But itâs almost as good as having the book in front of him; for the most part, the boy can almost perfectly recall the plot. At least, he remembers: the man wasnât very talented at gardening. Still, he persisted, and as we shall soon see, his fortitude was rewardedâ
Itâs at this inopportune moment that Elliot speaks. Technically, Leo doesnât have to correct his master anymore, but the opportunityâs too good to pass up.]
âI would say the same to you,â [Leo remarks.] âDonât you know better than to shout in a library? Or has your experience at Lutwidge taught you nothing?
Not to mention the fact that youâre standing in the middle of the aisle. Which happens to place you in the way of anyone who wishes to check a book out from this section.â
[Itâs nice to see you again, Elliot.]
Seriously, who dared to simply walk in making a lot of noise like they owned the place, it was one of the things that bothered him endlessly--- Oh? Leo, well this was odd... but why was Elliot so surprised of running into his servant in a library, when he was a living bookworm... Tch.. Why does he always have to lecture Elliot? It's not like he meant to shout out, but the noise was unbearable when he was focusing in the book.
"Quiet, shortie..."
Even when his low temper made it hard for him to take his best friends sense of humour, Elliot felt like 'the old days', not even death changed their friendship or who they were to one another. But Lutwidge, taught him a lot... Still this place was empty, and now he was pissed because Leo had to open his big mouth and become noisy...Â
"I AM NOT STANDING IN THE MIDDL---" Noble turned his head to realise he was indeed in the middle of the way... God damn it Leo, pointing the freaking obvious all the time... "THIS PLACE IS EMPTY TO BEGIN WITH SO DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, AND I WASN'T STANDING IN THE MIDDLE BEFORE." Really though, he was sitting calmly, minding his own goddamn business until so much noise... "YOU GOT ME DISTRACTED ROAMING AROUND LIKE A WILD COW!"
This wasn't a place to get all loud and mighty, but Elliot cared of nothing else when he was irked, and this was Leo's fault for pushing it, trying to mock him and make fun of him. Now if the librarian comes by and kicks them out there will be real trouble for Leo. Goddamned servant he was.
7) Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past?
{closed @elliot}
A frustrated expression could be seen on Aliceâs face. There were plenty of thing she could have said about this topic; complaining about how some humans even dared to control contracts like this, but in the end all she did was clenching her hands to fists and glaring at Elliot, though for once it wasnât actually directed to him.
âI honestly donât care why people make a contract with a chain. Itâs their business, not mine. A chain doesnât care about stuff like that, as long as they get the chance to get out of the Abyss.â For a moment she wondered a bit why she hadnât been in a contract for that long, while other chains took every person they could get. But well, she didnât like being compared to the weak ones and it was disgusting to her what they did, and she wasnât just any chain. She had been drawn to Oz ever since and having any other contractor seemed to be completly impossible for her. Even if she had the chance to get in another contract, it felt wrong.
âIf you reject your chain, itâs destroyed⊠the human isnât dragged to the Abyss and also⊠there are consequences⊠the human diesâŠâ
âThatâs not what I want to hear! Are you trying to tell me the only possibilities are either being dragged back in this hell or to die?!â It was pretty much useless what he had said. There was no way she could consider this just for a moment, not even to mention that it would be impossible to convince Oz anyway. He would never agree with this and neither would she ever be okay with this.
Something was strange to Alice though. Why did this guy know of all those things? Surely, he had some knowledge due to his position and all that crap, but tha the knew that much..
âIs this what happened with you?â
"Well if no one stops people from doing that the Abyss would be crowded by humans turning into chains..." Aside, the chains lied to the people to get the contract, they really never changed the past, they just modified the initial circumstance that led the person to accept a contract, there is no way to escape fate.
"Look I didn't make these rules..." Contracting chains in an illegal way was simply stupid, Elliot would have never done it, but he knows Leo never meant to hurt him, or the Nightray family. If it wasn't for him, Elliot would've died back then. And in the end it was just that way, Leo never really saved him, only gave him more time to live. Elliot did not escape fate either.
The question of the girl made Elliot frown, why did she always have to bring up what happened back then... whatever the effect wasn't the same this time, in fact it wasn't as hurtful, he's got the chance to speak with Vanessa again, with Gilbert, with Leo... his conscience was somewhat in peace, but not yet... "... I have no reasons to answer such question." In other words, if she wanted him to share some of what really happened that night she would have to convince him. But it is really pointless, it's not like Oz Vessalius will dare to reject his own chain...Â
{closed @elliot}
She wasnât too sure whether or not to feel insulted by Elliotâs laughing, but she decided just to ignore it for now. What he said was more interesting than that or to better say: what he said bothered her much more than some personal issues she had with him. If you could even call it issues and not just being annoyed by his existence.
âAnd who are these people to decide who is allowed to make a contract and who isnât?! Thatâs stupid! A contract is a contract! If you people wouldnât be so ridiculous..â
Oz wouldnât be in danger. She silently continued what she had wanted to say and looked away. Damn those humans and their useless rules. Alice couldnât help but roll her eyes about this stupidity.
âI know, I know. Damn it, you donât have to explain me everything.â Of course she knew about the clock; of course she knew that nothing good would happen once this came to an end. But
âWhatever you say might be true, but how can you know that it only can end like this? You canât know everything and same goes for Pandora. There still can be another way out. If we find a way to let illegal contracts not end like this, you donât have to destroy chains anymore and the Abyss wonât grow more. You speak as if everything is already decided.â Casually she crossed her arms. âI wonât let Oz get dragged in the Abyss again and neither will I go back. There has to be a way to avoid this somehow.â
Elliot himself questioned plenty of times why the Pandora people were the ones to decide who was making a contract and who wouldn't. At the same time, it was more safe to keep it that way, to ask permission, and it would be given if it was really needed, however the use of chains remained to be exclusive for people from dukedoms and their servants, that alone pointed out the type of elitism there was in order to possess a chain... however if people with needs ever had a chain things like... well the endings of the illegal contractors and murder of innocent ones would happen, but more frequently... "Look even if it sounds unfair it's a precaution Pandora has... don't you know how people contract because chains have the ability of changing the past? And in the end they become chains too..."
Did she know that? That humans could become chains if they had an illegal contract? Probably she did, she had seen plenty of humans being dragged by the abyss and being turned into chains.... "There is a way..." It was ridiculously hilarious that she didn't ever wonder why Elliot never became a chain... "If you reject your chain, it's destroyed... the human isn't dragged to the Abyss and also... there are consequences... the human dies..." Elliot stared at her and shrugged back. This was something that Vincent had told him in the last minutes of his life, which is why he got to destroy Humpty Dumpty... if there was another way, that was unknown to Elliot, but he was sure that Vincent would've told him instead of letting him die.
{closed @elliot}
She actually wanted to laugh, but managed not to. Why she wasnât leaving him alone he was asking? Like hell she would let him get what he wanted. It wasnât that she wanted continuing this conversation, but her stubborness was huger than everything else, so it was litereally impossible for the girl to just leave it at that, whether or not her mind was against it. Even she realized this wasnât the smartest thing to do in certain situations, but she couldnât help it. Probably sheâd never get rid of acting like this, but she didnât plan on changing herself in any way.
âJust how many times do you want to point out what I am?! Stop making it sound as if it is an insult already!â
Chain, chain, chain.. why the hell did it matter so much?! She was a chain, and? Alice wasnât one of those heartless chains who just killed someone for the damn of it and because they were created for this purpose. She hadnât killed any human at all nor had she ever felt the urge to. To be known as a creature like this, to get it thrown into her face all the time, in fact she despised it. She wasnât like them, she never would be like them.
âI-It works like that.. I guess. I canât say it for sure, I never was in a contract before that one and only heard of how it is supposed to end and I donât know if there is any other way.â Damn it all. Now she even had to admit that she wasnât even all that experienced, despite making clear all the time how strong of a chain she was. This wasnât what she should care about the most right now though.
âDisappearing? You seriously think itâs impossible to make all chains never going back into the Abyss and just vanishing from this world?â Alice honestly had never heard of this possibility before. Maybe she had missed it or no one ever told her, but it sounded a bit.. ridiculous. A world without chains was impossible for her to imagine, then on the other hand she wouldnât even be able to be part of a world like that.
âThatâs stupid. Do you have just the slightest idea how many chains exist?â
Elliot laughed at her response, she was indeed unaware of how a contract even worked. And she was a chain, then how come she didn't know. Really sad actually..."Well, actually... the chains are unstable in this world, which is why they need a contractor, however only the dukedom people and mostly people who work with Pandora are allowed to make a 'legal' contract."
Elliot sighed before continuing... "as long as the contract is legal the life of the contractor is not in danger, every time the power of the chain is used the illegal contractor's clock comes closer to the end which mean they're dragged into the abyss. Alas the illegal contractor doesn't die.. they become chains, a never ending process... people contract chains illegally because the chains have the ability of change the past."
"This is how the Abyss continues to grow in chains illegal contractors are the every new one that appears in the other side, and that's Pandora's job, to stop the people from making illegal contracts. However, there's a way to destroy the chain you contract, and thus the contractor would never become a chain themselves."
Elliot shrugged and shock his head. "No... it's impossible to destroy all the chains, we would need an illegal contractor willing to kill the chain... and there are also consequences for the contractor too."

Calm the environment in the library is always calm, the only place where Elliot would rarely ever be perturbed. Nothing more than him and books and sometimes with Leo's company but always the books, and endless stories that he'd always be eager to discover, and if given the chance, rediscover in the future.
Elliot walked around the empty building, it was rather disappointing how empty this place always seemed to be, clearly most of the people in the island had little or no interest at all in reading. They were missing out, ever since he arrived he found a never ending diversity of books, and as far as he heard from different universes even. This alone could help any person to help themselves to understand other cultures, other people, other universes...Â
Youngest Nightray tapped a few books, trying to pick which new universe he should visit, did he want to learn about Geography, did he want to learn about gods, did he want to learn about Pokémon...,Digimon.....----eyes danced back to one of the last titles... as the vague memory of the encounter with the whale flashed in his mind... although he didn't speak to it, the word 'pokemon' sounded quite familiar for some reason. "All you need to know about Johto pokemon" Very well then, seemed that he had his pick for the day, maybe it could give him a better idea of why the word sounded strangely familiar to him.
The Johto region (Japanese: ăžă§ăŠăć°æč JĆto-chihĆ) is a region of the PokĂ©mon world. It is located west of Kanto, and as revealed by the radio show Sinnoh Sound, is located south of Sinnoh.
1500 years before modern times, the place now known as the Ruins of Alph was built in Johto, and the earliest known system for writingâthe modern Latin alphabetâwas developed. Although no one knows exactly who built the Ruins of Alph, research indicates that the people in question were an ancient civilization that wished to co-exist with the enigmatic Unown that bear great similarity to the alphabet letters. Not only did that tribe impart messages on the ruins' walls describing the Unown, but they also erected a PokĂ©mon statue for an unknown reason.
The sudden movement inside the building made Elliot's eyes leave the book to look around, whoever walked in had run into a chair and caught his attention. The Nightray stared into the direction where the noise came from, a rather displeased look in his face. "Don't you know you have to remain quiet in a library?"
Well he wasn't being really quiet in that exact moment, since he raised his voice to be heard by whoever decided to make noise in his saint building.

âAnd what makes you think I care about this?â Damn, he was talking too much nonsense for her taste. Did he expect her to get angry about this? In fact she couldnât care less what any of those Nightrays thought of her and the only thing she could feel about it was yawning probably, but otherwise it made her feel rather indifferent. Especially because it was coming from Elliot, someone she didnât respect the slightest. Not like there were many people she actually respected in any way. Alice was her own boss and there hardly were times where she listened to someone else but herself. At least until certain circumstances reminded her that sometimes there was no other way but relying on someone else, but she tried to avoid that.
âDonât talk about Oz like that. I didnât give you permission for this.â It was almost ridiculous how much more angry she became when her manservant was insulted. It was fine as long as she was the one kicking his ass and calling him an idiot, but it was only her right to do that and not anyone elseâs. It was her property and she wouldnât share it. Simple like that.
Maybe because Alice felt as if it was her duty to keep this privilege. Maybe because she felt like she had to protect him in some way or because she wanted to make it up to him somehow for whenever he had saved her. The connection to him or something else like that; most likely all of those reasons were accurate and responsible for her anger. Adding to that that she really couldnât stand Elliot at all.
âYou know what I really donât like about you? Youâre acting way too arrogant than you should be allowed to. Whatâs so special about you which gives you this right?â She hissed, glaring at the sword which was hold up close to her again and glared back at Elliot. âAnd shut your mouth. You donât know anything about me and still you treat me as if Iâm some kind of disease. You really are just some noble who thinks he is so much better than anyone else and I despise you.â
"You know how contradicting you are? Why don't you just leave me alone already? I'm trying my damn best to hold back and not trespass your flesh with my sword. You're annoying and of no use." Elliot in general would never even think about talking to a female in such way, but he was aware she wasn't human, and even when this he'd still respect her, she managed to get on the bad side so easily, it was really hard for him to tolerate and even stay calm, when the only thing he actually wanted to do was beat her to pulp.
"What are you going to do? Your power is useless without Oz, YOU ARE CHAIN, you don't own him." Elliot put the sword away and walked closer to her. This girl really put him such bad mood, why wasn't she a male. Things would be solved if that was the case, and unless she put his life or Leo's life in danger he had no right to attack first.
Noble's head was tilted aside as his eyes shifted to the horizon, deep sigh, it was like talking with a wall, really frustrating, how come Gilbert didn't beat her up already, perhaps he probably already hit her once... "I believe it's pointless to explain what you already know. When you contract someone and the contract comes to end, you as a chain go back into the abyss, right?" Elliot hesitated whether he should bringing it down the line knowing by fact that Oz would probably never do it... "but were you aware that the contractor can destroy their own chain?" This actually gave Elliot the idea he needed. Now he just have to find Leo and put the plan to work already. "So this mean, chains ALL OF THEM can disappear forever, and such thing includes you." Elliot decided to ignore her last comment seeing as she was indeed borderline a disease in this world, with full acknowledge that the Pandora Headquarters were looking for the illegal contractor, but was Oz' contract illegal too? This was above Elliot, however Vincent said, a chain dies by decision of their contractor so this may apply to legal or illegal contracts.
