Moominvalley season 4 is breaking me. I still need to watch the season finale, but-
Honestly, I had gotten my hopes up for something (something) more…
I actually enjoyed the episodes so far, tho! Even if I hate those damn seahorses… but at least Moomin didn’t deal much with them this time around (the lighthouse arc in season two destroyed me. If I wasn’t so in-love with the franchise, I would have stopped right there-. Plus, I wanted my Snufmin (Snufmin) content… the things I endure for those two idiots).
Apart from them, I can’t think of much I haven’t enjoyed. Many things didn’t go as I thought they would, but they were still pretty great!
BUT.
I ONLY NEEDED TWO THINGS, AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN CONTENT WITH JUST ONE. For Snufkin and Jockster to meet, and for Snufmin (Snufmin) to take at least one more step forward in their relationship. Instead, it feels like it took a step back.
I dunno… I just had a huge rant about it, so I don’t feel like repeating myself, and now I just feel a bit sad. I feel so stupid for getting my hopes up, but with everything that has been going on in the world lately, having Moominvalley destroy my hopes, too, was not what I needed, personally u-u.
I’m so sleep deprived, I might delete this tomorrow when I remember writing it.
Or maybe not.

💫 THE STORY 💫
This AU mainly follows Moomintroll and his friends as they adventure together, both inside and far outside of the valley. Their adventures start out fairly lighthearted, but when they discover that their own lives mysteriously reflect what is known about the lives of ‘The Pillars’, also known as the founders of magic, they seek to uncover the missing pieces of their stories and solve the mystery of the King’s Ruby and its uncertain origins.

Moomintroll
Species: Moomin (+witch)
The enthusiastic Moomintroll, the self-proclaimed “leader” of the group and aspiring adventurer. It was his idea to bring everyone together to uncover the Pillars’ stories! He may be stubborn and hotheaded at times, but the love and warmth he has for his friends will always ground him in the end.

Snufkin
Species: Half jackalope, half mumrik
The mysterious Snufkin, with the unique ability to turn invisible at will. While he and Moomin initially may not have had the best start, he will always come back to the valley to greet him each spring. While he appears stable and sure, rumors spread fast, and the winds are saying he’s keeping parts of him in the dark.

Snorkmaiden
Species: Snork
A princess living abroad in the quiet Moominvalley. Her and her brother were dropped off at the Moominhouse years ago by their mother for unknown reasons. Don’t let her sweet nature fool you, she can brew up quite a storm!

Snork
Species: …Snork
A prince to match the princess. This curious inventor isn’t a fan of magic and prefers the predictability of science, but his roots as a magical creature are at odds with his ideals.

Sniff
Species: half dragon
A half-dragon that was adopted into the Moomin family many years ago after a great storm. While on the surface he seems to be a mighty selfish beast with an eye for treasure, it seems his friends may take him for granted more than they realize.

Little My
Species: Half jackalope
A “halfalope” like her brother, although she doesn’t possess the same ability to turn invisible since she lacks the mumrik genes. Her snarky attitude can prove to be quite a motivator even if it gets on other’s nerves. She’s a tiny trickster who knows a lot more than she lets on!

The story is split up into 3 main arcs. The first arc focuses on establishing relationships and the world around them, eventually leading into the beginnings of their journey in Arc 2!

While this AU is fairly Snufmin-centric, I have developed stories for all of the main characters and each will have their moment to shine!! I hope to bring something for everyone with the Garden AU <3
This AU will be presented in Comic form! I am a fairly busy and tired person however, and pages may come out slowly.
Every time someone shows up in the moomin tag saying "why does moomins have a fandom now ew" i feel like the bugs underneath a rock when you lift it up. Hate to tell you this, bud, but the bugs are there whether you lift the rock or not
I’ve been watching Moominvalley (2019), and I’m already at Season 3 Episode 8, the one where Moomin goes to the Lonely Mountains to find Snufkin, and I have to say…
It hurts so much. I’m 10 minutes in but oh my lords I can’t stand how uncomfortable it makes me feel- is this second hand embarrassment??
The fact that I’m both Moomin and Snufkin coded does not help at all… can’t wait for this to end so I can go back to my silly gay and happy thoughts.
At least Little My is befriending a squirrel in the bg, that’s keeping me sane
Edit: ok but THE ENDING!?!? HE HALLUCINATES WITH MOOMIN WHEN HES NOT THERE, AND WHEN THEY LEAN A BIT INTO EACH OTHER!?!?!?!? AAAA????

I keep saving Moominvalley pins in my TMA board by accident (they both start with M, they’re close together, I’m as blind as a bat… ya know, Pinterest deal), and now I can’t stop imagining silly scenarios with Martin trying to get Jon into the Moomin fandom, or Martin just going crazy over a Moomin mug that’s in artifact storage for some unspecified reason.
Or worse… Jmart travels to Moominvalley… that would actually be interesting…
I found these silly lil drawings I made months ago in an old sketchbook, long before Sky announced a collaboration with Moominvalley. It felt like I had predicted the future X333 I should draw more of these silly beans…

There is a black, thin cat with beautiful green eyes that comes in my house every day. She doesn’t trust us, but she does love my cat, and I like to think they’re girlfriends.
Anyways, I started calling her Jonathan Sims, ahead Archivist of the Magnus Institute, London every time she arrives, and my mom does not like it at all.
