The cuties have arrived.
The look™ Bobby and Alex share when Lady Harrington grabs their hands.
All flustered for getting (rightfully) praised.
Also let me just ad I do very much identify with Lady Harrington in this scene. I would also grab their hands and introduce them to all my friends (or literally anyone in reach) and tell them how they saved my life. Only difference I wouldn't stop at only holding their hands. I would want a hug and I would also only let go of them/let them leave once they finally confessed their feelings (but I guess Lady Harrington had other things to worry about).
Background characters steeling the show:
That women's reaction to the remark about Lady Harrington lying in her urine-stained sheets (she didn't look that shock at the talk of murder might I add).
She's done with that family's drama. The ceiling looks way more interesting.
This has made me realize that Remington Steele and Laura Holt would LOVE/hate Goren and Eames. Love because they will be all like "ah, so you guys are also in love but refuse to do anything about it because you can't ruin the partnership, I remember those days" and hate because Goren would be onto Remington being a con in about .5 seconds.

I just keep thinking about...
Vanessa shows up at the boxing match but security gets her out of the ring after the kiss and she is just in some safe room somewhere (warehouse with Rabbit on Snowstorm maybe) waiting to see what happens and then her husband, in a bloodied white suit, comes downstairs. He reassures her that it isn't HIS blood. It's the members of her security detail who ALLOWED her to come to the match. Because somehow he can FEEL how close he came to losing her and can FEEL what it would have been like and he is fucking FURIOUS at her, but he doesn't exactly know WHAT to do about it. But Vanessa, the woman who has always been attracted to his brutality, she might have some ideas on how he can punish her.
Also, congratulations to the Sheep Detectives for making me salivate over the romantic tension between two sheep. I never thought I would become so invested in sheep-shipping but FLUFF those two....
No but seriously. There is so much good stuff between them. And Lily is like…the sheep version of book smart. And Sebastian is street smart (literally, he can cross a street). But they both are emotionally intelligent but just have led different lives.
my favourite ship dynamic
the way buck was like "bruh" 🙄 when wilson just left him the doctor's body to clean up lol
Wilson Fisk was obviously the person most devastated by Vanessa's death, but Buck Cashman was a close second because, it's like, "oh God, there's going to be so much bullshit I'm gonna have to clean up." Maybe that's why he decides to bring in Daniel in the previous episode. He's thinking "if she goes south, I'm going to need more hands on deck for body disposal."
Does it ever drive you crazy?
Just how fast the night changes?
I'm telling you, Bobby v. Fisk would be everything. I think the closest we've seen to how Fisk would react to Bobby's attempts to throw him off-kilter is Fisk's reaction to Mr. Charles. He hates it. He'd hate it even more from Bobby who is someone who is also brilliant (while Mr. Charles doesn't seem to be that smart, just someone who is good at getting his hands dirty).
and what do we call this? oh, how ‘bout s t r u c t u r e d c o m p l e x i t y .
…every once in awhile, I allow these outer wonders to kind of blind me to the inner miracles that are occuring, transpiring every day, all around us. I didn’t see any miracles today, Larry. No, no, no, but, you see, the tendrils that connect human beings– one to another, they’re just so…unlikely, so inherently, um, fragile. I–I think that it’s a miracle that they even exist at all.
Just saw Sheep Detectives and I was shipping Lily and Sebastian so hard.
Oh, look what Ayelet & Vincent were conspiring to do... 😭👍
I'll never move on. 😤
Say it with me: Vanessa is in a coma.
I believe that she had come to the boxing match [where she was fatally wounded] to — it might sound crazy — but in a way she comes to protect him. Because she knows it’s inevitable [the repercussions from his actions]. So she thinks, “OK, if it’s inevitable, then I’d rather pay the price. I’d rather go down for him.” That’s a remarkable quality in a human being and a character. At the same time, the juxtaposition is that they’re villains.
This is also from that interview and...it sort of confirms something I suspected when she was talking with Buck about wanting a gun. Buck says it isn't necessary because she has him and all of the rest of the security. Vanessa asks if he has ever been up close with Dex. Not a Ballroom but face-to-face. And my immediate thought in that moment is at her wedding and in the aftermath, when Vanessa is about to flee and opens the door to see Dex. That entire fight scene is probably the most HELPLESS we've ever seen Vanessa. The only point that is close is her poisoning, and even then she is still in control over Wilson (refusing to leave town without him). But right there, after her wedding, she is completely and totally unable to do anything but watch her life fall apart while she watches helplessly. And I wonder how many times over the years she wonders "if I just had a gun...I could have stopped it." Stopped Dex. Maybe even stopped Daredevil. I think that Dex is really sort of this interesting part of the Fisk relationship because they likely BOTH feel responsible for his place in their life. Wilson is the one who initially recruits him and turns him darker, but it was Vanessa who suggested using him to kill Nadeem. To using him further instead of eliminating him. Vanessa is the one who gets him released and uses him to kill Foggy, but she only was doing that because Wilson was gone. If he had been around they would have found a better solution to the issue of the free port being discovered. (And also, note that Vanessa never tells Wilson about her being responsible for Foggy's death. In the end she doesn't need to tell him because he figured it out. Although, it is interesting to try and determine WHEN that happened. If we assume he knew all along then it is really interesting that he doesn't actually make any move to eliminate Dex until AFTER he and Vanessa seem to be on better marital footing. He gets Dex moved to gen pop the same day he is taking Vanessa to Adam.) One thing I loved about the marital counseling scenes in DDBA Season 1 is how often Wilson and Vanessa are speaking in unison. It's interesting because this technique (married characters talking at the same time) is used to show their different views of an event. How they disagree. But Wilson and Vanessa don't disagree. They see things similarly even when they are at their most discordant. The fact that they both think they NEED to protect the other person from Dex because they both feel responsible for his presence in their life is just another example of this.
Before I went to law school I was working dispatch at a copier company. It was a very boring job. I would take up freelance writing jobs in my free time and many of these were erotica. Because this was back when you could get a few hundred dollars for writing erotic short stories for porn mags or porn websites or even books. Anyway, everyone in my family KNEW I was doing it and they also all knew I wouldn't tell them. I wrote under various pen names and was a ghostwriter for others. And it was just so funny to have family members, like, buying Penthouse and being like "Did you write this one? Did you write this one? Is this yours?" It was sweet but also weird, but mostly sweet. My Mom would tell people I was an erotica writer before she would ever mention the copier gig. But My Mom also said that romance novels helped her survive her toxic marriage to my Dad by showing her that she deserved more and that love was possible. So, like, she saw erotica writing as a way of helping others. (She is probably less impressed about the whole "lawyer with fancy pants job" than she was at the porn writing, but she has to admit the pay is much better)
Wilson Fisk's nightmare used to be seeing himself as a boy killing his father
To the point where he would hallucinate the image when he looked in the mirror (and man, doesn't that tie into the current Heather/Muse stuff). But now, I suspect the thing he will see instead is himself, covered in his wife's blood, unable to help save her.
Buck Cashman. That’s it. That’s all I wanna say. I hope you all understand 😭
First Wesley. Then Buck. You have to admit the man has a type. Wilson Fisk's criminal empire and home for wayward service tops.
DAREDEVIL + Vanessa Marianna
that last gif is just…this is a guy who has definitely never just been given a giant spontaneous hug before. This is a guy who doesn’t allow people close to him and he definitely doesn’t allow people behind him because it makes him vulnerable. But she is here in his shirt from last night enveloping him. And he isn’t doing anything because he is in a freeze state. He’s probably having to suppress all his instincts about someone being behind him and around his neck.
i think this was the scene where i became a wilson x vanessa truther.
bald guy feels his girlfriend’s wet and damp hair right against his cheek and doesn’t mind because her embrace is just… to die for. they could’ve had her peck his cheek and greet him good morning, but they went with a happy vanessa wrapping her boyfriend up in a giant hug. no words needed.
i dunno what’s better: that she stole his shirt to use as a robe or he gave her one because his regular houserobes are large for her. mr. always-prepared doesn’t have stuff prepared for when someone sleeps over? HE’S NEVER…? HE HASN’T…?
he cooked for two. then paid utmost attention to her and how she liked it. it’s her favorite (or it became her favorite), so he makes it again for her two years later. <3
I'm obsessed with the eggs because he makes her the same as his (chives at the end of cooking) but when he makes it 2 years later (when he is desperately trying to reconnect with her) it is green onions in the eggs while they are cooking. Which means either production screwed up the food or (what I think) at some point he discovers how Vanessa prefers it and remembers it for two years. And this is an important plot point because we see it being made differently just so that it signals to the audience that Wilson is focused on her happiness.
