“It’s a dangerous sport. I would get hurt either way.”
“I’m honestly fascinated at how much you’re willing to sacrifice your body right now, without a bit of worry about potential death.. So I’ll just say it now: I told you so,” Calla said. “.. you know, just in case -- you didn’t make it.”
“Look I get you’re trying to help in your own little weird way, but please don’t.”
“I mean I guess.. If you decide to go through it -- which I highly advise you don’t -- make sure I don’t get the chance to say, ‘I told you so’,” Calla shrugged.
“I know how to fly.”
“Yeah.. I don’t think you’ll be flying for very long,” she shook her head, making a noise with her lips that could only be seen as ‘falling down’ and mercilessly, finishing off with a ‘plumph’.

“Some people are more graceful in the air.”
“What makes you think that you're going to stay in the air?”
“It’s just what I say when I fall.” Alice said as her shirt was on. “What does it matter if I am?”
“You’re obviously going to get hurt when you join that dense thing of a game. Look at you! You can’t even put on a shirt without falling over,” Calla exasperated, something about the whole situation making her frustrated. “And this is on steady land. You’re gonna be up there floating on a measly broomstick!” she sighed, crossing her arms.
“Oh jeez. I can’t see. This is not a fun prank.” Alice says trying to get her uniform back on before falling over. “Ow.”
“If you think that hurt, I wonder what sounds you’ll make when you’ve fallen out of the sky, off that broom of yours,” Calla nodded, before sighing, helping the girl up and fixing her shirt for her (big sister problems). “Don’t tell me you’re still considering it,” she said, regards to the blonde trying out Quidditch.
She looks at her suspiously.
Calla rolled her eyes at the look the blonde was giving her, crossing her arms as she gave the younger girl a shrug. “-- Believe it or not.”
“But you’re not even in your clear head. You’re just being mean. You’re just being rude and it’s not a good look.”
"I say that I’ve been pulling off this look for my whole life, so,” Calla shrugged, smiling to herself a bit before letting out a sigh. “Look, I know my words can come off like literal stones, but trust them. You getting hurt would be the last thing I’d want to see at the next Quidditch game,” she spoke truthfully.
Alice scowled at the girl. “That’s messed up. And that’s just mean. You’re not even being helpful at this point. You’re just being a bully.”
“I think it’s helpful for someone in their clear head to get you to stay off the field and from dying, if I say so myself. And hon, if you think this is messed up, I’m pretty sure a crack to the head will be even messier,” Calla replied. She honestly didn’t feel like she was being rude, as brutal honesty was always a talent for her.
“You can be honest without being rude.” Alice said as she fixed her hair. “It was just a thought.”
“Yeah, I get that a lot,” Calla chuckled under her breath slightly. First impressions aren’t friendly with her, and vice versa. She tended to have no filter, and she wasn’t ashamed of that to be perfectly honest. “Not a great one at that,” she winced, knowing that it probably sounded even ruder at this point. “I mean, last thing anyone would want is another death in this castle. Plus I heard that blood’s really hard to clean off the field.” Nice, Calla.. nice.
“Well that was rude.”
"Is it being rude or being honest? -- Perhaps both, actually,” Calla shrugged at the other girl. “I mean, didn’t you say you were a klutz? Safe to stay off the field and broom, in my opinion.”
She slightly scoffed it off. “Well, I’m sorry I’d rather just live in the moment than think about it,” Truthfully, Briar wasn’t ready herself for Calla to be leaving. There would be a whole year at Hogwarts without her sister and that was weird to her on so many levels. “Even leaving me here alone for next year? Cause here I was thinking you’d want to stay even if it was just for me,” She spoke it in such a joking tone nobody would ever assume she was actually being serious. “How about we make a deal, I won’t guilt trip you for abandoning me if you make a new friend this year. They have to be real, too.”
“There are two types of people, after all,” Calla mused, squeezing her baby sister’s cheeks together with one hand, giggling a bit at the sight. “You’re more accustomed to this place than I’ve ever been, so I have no worries about leaving you here,” she responded with a chuckle, though truth seethed through her joking tone as well. Calla scoffed at her sister’s offer, hitting Briar’s leg slightly, offended in a happy manner. “Hey, I have friends too, you know!” she insisted. She had a few close friends, though outside of the small circle of probably three or five, that was probably it -- and it included Briar.. sadly. “Patroni are real, right?” the older girl muttered, eyes falling to the floor now.
Sometimes I wanna try Quidditch , but then I remember I’m a klutz and will probably fall off my broom and die.
“Did I hear that correctly? If I were you, I would stay as far away from Quidditch as possible. I mean, I hope the phrase ‘badgered to death’ won’t come literal to you,” the girl mumbled. She was known for being quite blunt, and here was a fine example of that. She meant good things though.. right?
“Please do tell me where on my face you see any envy whatsoever,” He partially asked. “So, worse than the nerd orgy. Shouldn’t you be there?” Dae smirked, “I had an excuse not to be there, I was getting back into the Hogwarts feeling another way.”
“Right.. there,” she muttered, the point of her index finger floating in front of his face, slightly by his nose before letting her hand fall again. “Oh, wow,” Calla sighed, chuckling at his response. “Yeah, let’s not expand on that thought, hm? -- And no, I tend to avoid those things. It’s always musty, Top 40 is constantly playing, and the fruit punch sucks.”
“Where the hell did everyone disappear to tonight? Did you all have some gross nerd orgy or something?”
“You almost sound like you're envious; did you feel excluded or something?” Calla laughed, shaking her head slightly at his choice of words. “But no. It’s ghost town because everyone’s at the Great Hall for the welcome back party,” she explained.
