Calla scrunched her brows at the younger’s declaration, confused on who could have asked her. “No, that wasn’t my implication,” she chuckled at her sister, shaking her head. “I meant, you’re not the type to get.. enthusiastic about philosophy, per say.” Calla sent Briar a joking glare, before laughing right after with a curt nod. She acknowledged that, even if it was a diss. Calla usually was always alone – but she liked it that way. She didn’t have many friends, for a specific reason, and in any case, Briar was enough for her. “Yes, I did,” she replied in terms of packing. “Oh, I can. I’m ready to leave this place,” Calla continued, insistent on never being here ever again, to her amusement.
She slightly scoffed it off. “Well, I’m sorry I’d rather just live in the moment than think about it,” Truthfully, Briar wasn’t ready herself for Calla to be leaving. There would be a whole year at Hogwarts without her sister and that was weird to her on so many levels. “Even leaving me here alone for next year? Cause here I was thinking you’d want to stay even if it was just for me,” She spoke it in such a joking tone nobody would ever assume she was actually being serious. “How about we make a deal, I won’t guilt trip you for abandoning me if you make a new friend this year. They have to be real, too.”

We don’t have a word for the opposite of loneliness, but if we did, I could say that’s what I want in life…

“You would think that people would get me after all these years,” the girl slightly pouted, fingers fumbling with the ends of her red hair. “..but this kid ran up to me and called me ‘Fanta Head’!”
Briar tried her best not to laugh, it however, failed. “Fanta, fanta, don’t you wanta?” It ended with a roaring laugh and her hands on her stomach. “I’m calling you Fanta from now on!”

“So a first year just apologized for me getting sorted into the ‘shitty house’ like what even? I’m sorry I can’t hear you over the awesome food I live next to and my cool arse barrel entrance.”
“You have to admit that first year had some guts, any house living next to a kitchen is really not the shittiest house that’s true. Did you ask why they said that or school them as to why they should shut up?”
“My mistake. Should have know it was that.” He laughed and shook his head with a silly grin. “Yeah makes sense since it looks kind of like, sugar.” Ryder’s eyes crossed as they both tried to look at her finger that was point at him and a look of confusion came his face. “I do? What is it?”
“No worries, at least you realize your mistake now.” Briar continued joking, sticking her tongue out to try and get the sugar. “Did I get it?” She laughed when his eyes crossed, “It’s this thing here.” Her finger poked his nose before she cracked up fully this time. “I can’t believe you didn’t notice it before!”
Feeling her shoulder being weighted down with her sister’s head, Calla let out a chuckle, before staring back down at the pages before her. “And you do realize that there’s a reason on why I’m always nowhere to be found, right?” she smirked, nudging the younger one slightly. “I would go in depths about how interesting this book is, but I highly doubt you’d be interested in philosophy,” Calla said, closing the book as she finally looked over to Briar. “What’s up with you? Did you finish unpacking?” she questioned, curious on what made her sister search for her.
“Of course there is a reason, but people still ask anyway!” Nudging softly back and making a fake offended face, “Are you trying to say you’re smarter than me or something? I mean it’s probably true, but you don’t have to remind me about it. “ Briar groaned, “I did, but I wasn’t ready to have so many people surrounding me yet. And I knew you’d be alone, no offense.” Her words ended with a snicker. “Have you finished packing too? I can’t believe this is your last year.”
“…..There’s something on your face.”
“It’s called beauty, get with the program.” She was completely, well not completely, kidding. But, she grinned at the end. “Is there really? It’s probably remnants from the train ride snacks.” She pointed to the middle of his face, “You have something on your face too.”
First day back at Hogwarts, and leave it to Calla for not caring at all, it being her last year here anyway. Though, she did mind when someone dared to walk into the room without closing the door behind them. More so, when they stood in front of her. “..I would ask if I could help you, but I really don’t want to,” the brunette sighed, eyes stuck to the book in front of her.
Briar gave her a playful, but extremely judgmental look. “Well, excuse me.” The only warning she gave was a grin before she laid down beside Calla, leaning her head on her sister’s shoulder. “You do realize it’s tiring when everyone questions me on why you are nowhere to be found right? What are you reading anyways? It better be something really interesting.”
