Hello everyone. It's been a month and a half. I just want to post a not so brief PSA:

Since August 15, cfans have stopped posting anything related to what happened, and have stopped defending him publicly on social media. Any attempt to defend him or clarify the situation can be seen as whitewashing, or him leading unpatriotic feelings amongst his fans which is incredibly dangerous and can backfire on him, making his already horrific situation even worse. So fans have been very, very quiet.

Since then, certain parties have been trying to actively lure fans to speak out, and cfans have been actively resisting. But now it seems that international fans are also getting baited.

Please remember that if you meet fans who are actively trying to get you to speak out for him regarding the incident on August, those people are either:

Idiots

Antis/fans of other actors with agendas of their own

Paid shit stirrers from the other side

Selfish "fans" who prioritize their own feelings over his safety

Also remember that whatever you have to say as an international fan cannot help him, but it can be used to destroy him. So just stay quiet.

What's even more sinister is that this sudden spike of accounts encouraging fans to speak out is coincidentally right before National Day, which is on October 1st. At worst, we could be expecting a repeat of August. These innocent messages from interfans could be used to twist the narrative once again on this very important national holiday where patriotic feelings are at their highest. I don't have twitter, but I've been told that there are certain people there asking fans to leave messages and videos defending him. Uhm. Please don't fall for that ⚠️

WHAT'S HAPPENING:

Sudden spike of people encouraging fans to speak up on behalf of him just before a very sensitive national holiday.

Recently, a chart of 29 rumours have been circulating on social media, even making its way to international platforms. It's a chart detailing all the false statements made about him, and at first glance seems like a well-intentioned project. But c-fans dug into the person who made this and found out that they're actually a fan of another person and is just pretending to be a fan of "him". This fake fan also tried to incite fans to speak out in his defense.

WHAT TO DO:

Do not make posts defending him or talking about the issue. And ignore the people, no matter how well-intentioned and sincere they seem to be, who are encouraging you to speak out for him or to make videos etc showing your support.

Ignore and do not spread "clarifications" like the 29 rumours chart I mentioned above. Antis and shit stirrers are spreading those for a reason.

Sensitive dates stretch from October 1 to 7. Best lock your twitter accounts if you have one, or just avoid talking about him at all on those days. Antis/heizis from the other side often take screenshots on twitter and IG. If you're on those platforms, be extra careful. Your rants could easily be translated and reposted on weibo and used against him.

Just STFU basically.

⚠️ Again, remember that whatever you have to say as an international fan means nothing and cannot help him, but it can be used to destroy him. Anyone who encourages you to speak out for him is either an idiot or has ulterior motives.

BoXiao & the Moon. 🌖

Inspired by the Moon connection that we had, here’s some more CPN.

• GG, our resident photographer loves taking photos of the moon as evidenced here. He also likes to reference it in his art, along with space. The infamous boy with a light ( moon ) is an old candy that is loved by BXGs.

This ties in with the fake rumor that Web said he wanted to take a picture of the Moon for GG but it wouldn’t come out.

• The official name listed for GG’s company is “Xiamen Midsummer Moon Culture Media Co., Ltd.”

• Here is a much more recent and subtle candy that we noticed. In his Man Han noodles Ad where he was playing the Guqin, it started with him looking out the window— admiring the Moon. This scene is similar to LWJ’s first appearance in the Untamed. He was looking out the night sky. ( moon not pictured)

• At the recent YueHua Family Concert, Web wore a short from My Own Private Planet brand. The print is a Moon.

• The CPN that inspired this post. It all started when Web was spotted wearing a special watch. With the date 10.05. More explanation here. Then a bts video of GG ‘s douyin post was shared. In it, he was seen with a moon landing related phonecase. People are pointing out that Neil Armstrong’s birthday is 8.5.

One thing to also remember is this is not the first time he had a moon related phone case. The model he used before had a pair.

note: the watch CPN is not yet verified. We haven’t seen it again. We have not seen it clearly.

• Something we missed in this TTXS episode. BXGs were too busy looking at the Little Prince and Iron Man decor— turns out, there are figures of astronauts/ moon.

• Back in July 2019, Web posted about his own skateboard clothing brand M SB. What does the M stand for? Is it under an already existing company?

Well, if you go further back, Web had a good relationship with something called INNERSECT. It’s The largest street culture convention in China. They have been inviting and collaborating w/ him since 2017. They even invited Web in their event to watch ASAP Rocky perform ( Shanghai).

So, A day after Web’s bday in 2018, they posted a picture of him with Moon Emojis.

A few months later, they posted about a brand called MOONBACK. same M* as Web’s in 2019. Just a different font. The description for the brand is as follows: The back of the moon is a collection of dreams and expression of creative potential

A BXG also noticed that if you flip the SB it looks similar to his recent 85 logo.

In 2019, ZZH went on an acting competition show called: Stand By Me《演员请就位》The competition involves having actors to play certain roles in a short movie (about 30mins) directed by the panel judges cum esteemed Directors.

ZZH was chosen by Director Zhao Wei and he starred in the short movie: Brother《哥》The genre (as provided in link) is tagged: Sibling, relationship, mental illness, brothers

[Left image] Firstly, the date the movie aired was on 7 December 2019, ZZH posted the image 5 days later, on 15 December 2019.

[Left image] Secondly, the caption says “I waited/wait for you”. (There is technically no past tense/present tense in Chinese) For international fans, you may compare the movie screenshot above, with the caption boxed in red, and the Chinese words ZZH posted + bottom part of the image: Wilson (王森), the actor who played the older brother in this movie. “我等你呢”

[Left image] Thirdly, the hand raise itself, is in reference to the movie, his older brother. Referencing from above, his older brother (in the movie), raises almost a straight vertical 180 - pic 9, while ZZH’s circulated image is lower. Because he was, and could be metaphorically reaching for his brother’s hand (see picture above).

[Left image - reference below] I just realised this myself. Lastly, Pattern A: look at the spread of the image in the post. There’s a distinct pattern: 3 selfies in the middle (pics 4-6), pics 1 & 3 with his buddy + corresponding inverted triangle pic 8 (no duplicated background or pattern), pics 2, 7, 9 are half body shots, of which 2 out 3 was where the Memorial Hall was.

[Right image] Pattern B: The whole image itself looks like ZZH is sitting on the stairs, under a shelter. The center image is like the close up version of the 8th picture.

5-6 different locations, with the right lineage, to create a post with a bigger picture, no coincidence works this way.

In that case, if it’s planned, why the location then?

Look at pic 2 again, the railings is horizontal, a perfect sense of link for 1 and 3, through his hand. Look at pic 7, there’s also the railings, but he stands in the middle, creating a leeway for a 90°, look at pic 9, the angle is taken from a left to right perspective = he needs railings because it is flexible to take straight lines, with a person.

Being on weibo long, and having followed his account over the past 5 months, his curation of photo pattern is prevalent, it usually always has a message (which is why LLD have sweets each time they posted sth, both GJ and ZZH’s spreads can create meanings).

What he needed was just the railings, but it happened to coincide with the Memorial Hall, so this could just be an unlucky coincidence that the photo was taken with resemblance of the Nazi hand, and with the Memorial Hall in the background.

If there are still some, not convinced, allowing room for doubt of purpose, then let the Immoral Media prove to you:

Note that none of it had the full spread like the above, no proper context at all.

This was what was in circulation, it was straight up just that one picture compared side by side to the Nazi gesture (ignore the Chinese). See how they conveniently narrowed the scope of issue and cause a fuss?

Conlusion

We have the Immoral Media to thank for, for increasing the debunk percentage.

(A warning/PG18: The opening of the scene is on a bed, ZZH is a part of it. But nevertheless it is a very heart-warming short movie, if you need to cry more - it can actually ironically help alleviate, give this a try, it also shows the spectrum of character ZZH can do and his acting skills)

Here's the official announcement made by China Association of Performing Arts today.

Am outside now so have used Google Translate to translate the whole statement, the translation is about 95% accurate, so you can trust the content as it is.

He is permanently cancelled from the Entertainment Industry in every form or matter.

His music had all been taken down from the charts and official platforms. His past drama and works might all be taken down soon. It will probably end up like he never existed in the Entertainment Industry at all in the first place.

All of ZZH's China social media accounts were blocked/banned. His Instagram is still around (China can't touch it anyway).

As this is a huge China Political issue, ZZH's personal assets might be affected as well. So he will have to deal with all these.

If he had never been a top celebrity of China, nobody would have cared much. But he was, so his price to pay is beyond your average person.

Personal opinion

Remember, at least here, outside of China, we are much more open to opinions, just a matter of acceptance.

No matter his own political stance, it doesn't matter to me as long as he isn't scheming for another war or something along this line. He did portray political insensitivity, but never advocated anything about it.

If you think portrayal is also a way of advocating, go ahead.

China and their patriotic citizens will care to cancel him, perhaps those who hate ZZH too, and the consequences are not something we, outsiders of the country with no power/influence whatsoever, can do anything about. ZZH is a China citizen, he has to make up for it the China way, whether the scale is reasonable or not, our outsider voice will always be rebounded back by the Great Wall anyway.

The only position I can ever be is as ZZH's fan, but what I really feel like doing now to him is as a friend. Too bad I can't and am not. Tsk.

So what I can do now is to read 2 books by Haruki Murakami: Kafka on the Shore, and Killing Commendatore. It's two of a list of books he recommended, but apparently there were mentions of the Shrines involved in his case which allegedly points to their disapproval of ZZH's ignorance about the Shrines. So I'm just trying to get myself Educated (also a book he recommended by Tara Westover, I highly recommend too).

Just a note that both books (Haruki Murakami's) are fiction, just with historical war elements in it.

I came across a recent twitter post by one shanren that went like she missed JunZhe but there seems to be nothing between them going on at the moment, thus she might be leaving the mountain.

I call this in medical term the WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME. Shanrens, after having been sugar-saturated at the height of the airing of WOH and the subsequent concert, are now suffering from the ‘quiet’ that follows the end of the production. Apparently, the intermittent candy bursts that happen when JunZhe go live or when they post something in social media are not enough to sustain the sugar high.

In a way, I could understand this particular shanren. Anyone who ships couple celebrities would love to see the couple in one frame, interacting sweetly just like any other couple.

But we have to remember that they are not an ordinary couple, if you know what I mean. Society, at least the Chinese, is not yet open to this kind of relationship. That’s why I don’t expect much PDA from them. I understand that any sweet interaction between them has to be under the radar, covert.

I don’t mind the lack of candies, to be honest. Is it because I am not deeply into them? Probably, because I have a job that demands time, focus and effort—I should not be thinking of JunZhe when I am attending to a sick patient, right?

But I would like to think that me not caring for the candy supply is because I believe that they are real, that JunZhe is real. That alone is a never-ending, inconsumable, steady candy supply being dripped directly into my veins. Thus, quiet times are as good as explosive times. No disruption of my sugar high. No withdrawal symptoms. No reason to leave the mountain.

Today!! I woke up to multiple posts of ZZH's endorsements <3 I can feel all the stress finally washes away. Do you think he should clarify things? Personally I don't mind if he keeps silence indefinitely

I was on the stay silent side, too, but now I think what he just did is even better!

Explanation for everyone else lol:

The rumours and yxh attacks circulated quickly during a time of national crisis (flood in Henan) and if he had clarified things during that time, it will certainly be used against him for "making things about him when there's a national crisis at hand". In China when there are situations like this it can be considered insensitive for celebs to do things that may "overshadow" important news. ZZH stayed silent, but then it was used against him by spinning the narrative that those rumours must be true because he is not trying to refute them. On the other hand, there were already bought hotsearches prepared for when he does make a statement. It was a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of situation.

*yxh accounts = marketing accounts that post mostly gossip for traffic and clicks, can also be paid to post things or spin certain narratives.

For those who don't know what all this is about, recently there was a wave of rumours regarding ZZH. The narratives changed almost everyday, but it consistently involved ZZH's ex-gf. It all started with ZZH and her supposedly getting back together in March, and then turned into them getting engaged, and then evolved into her and ZZH actually being married all this time and are about to have a baby. A more sinister angle is that ZZH is supposedly forcing GJ into performing CP fanservice with him for money and attention, framing it as a scam perpetuated by ZZH and his ex-gf. Mind you, the lady is not a celebrity, and yet her name was exposed and her pictures used. There are many speculations and theories regarding the sudden appearance of these rumours and how quickly they spread, but I won't discuss them since there's no proof. I do have my own suspicions, though.

So yesterday (7/29) ZZH finally acted. His artist studio posted a letter from his lawyer.

Basically he's suing some people on weibo for spreading malicious rumours about him being secretly married, having kids, being a faker, etc. The faker one I'm not sure exactly, but I looked up the posts of the people he's suing and it's likely referring to those rumours of him faking being in a gay relationship for money (卖腐)

There's also a second lawyer letter from another law firm (Beijing XingQuan) and says that he's suing certain weibo users for defamation and derogatory remarks like calling him a scammer.

I think going directly for the kill was smart. By doing this he also avoided the hotsearch traps lying in wait for his studio's denial statement in order to turn it into fodder for more malicious gossip and attacks. This way it's straight to the point, and he's pointedly refusing to engage in their little game.

Short post about filming C-dramas - Hengdian

So I noticed a lot of people keep commenting that sets and “cities” in C-dramas that had basically no budget as being super pretty and that they can’t believe they managed that with no money. Here’s the thing: Many C-drama are filmed in Hengdian. There are a few other filming studios that are also popular, but I would say Hengdian is in the top 3, or maybe top 1.

Hengdian is one of the largest film studios in the world and is one of the most popular places to film a period drama (area total of 3,3 km2 and building areas of 495,995 m2).

If I remember correctly, there are at least 13 shooting bases. Some buildings, palaces, areas are made in the style of Qin and Han dynasty, others are exact replicas of certain buildings (like Yuanming Yuan, the old summer palace).

It’s FREE to film in Hengdian. How do they stay in business, you ask? They make the money from hotels, restaurants, and renting out equipment & costumes. Some dramas or movies take only 1 month to film, others can take several months. Also Hengdian is huge, if you couldn’t tell, so there can be several film crews working at the same time. 

I would also like to point out that you can visit as a tourist. 

So far there are over 1200 films and C-dramas that have been filmed in Hengdian! Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hero, The Forbidden Kingdom, Mulan are some films that were filmed there.

If you watch other Chinese period dramas, you will recognize several buildings. Some C-dramas in recent years you might recognize are Once Upon A Time in Lingjian Mountain, Joy of Life, The Untamed, Word of Honor.

some very important info re: paid accounts~

I am not a lawyer, but I can decently interpret legalese and, being as I also suffer from tl;dr syndrome and assume others may as well, I took one for the team and went through the updated TOS for the post+ accounts and highlighted (what I understand to be) the most pertinent information, which ultimately comes down to this:

You cannot monetize copyrighted works (aka charge and earn money from fanfic, fanworks, etc) and if you do decide to put your fanworks behind a paywall via Tumblr, when you are inevitably sued, Tumblr will not protect you and will not defend you and you alone, personally, will be responsible for whatever monetary damages said lawsuit results in.

If anyone is a lawyer and knows I've gotten any of this wrong, please do not hesitate to correct me/this post.

5. Tumblr's TOS specifically states that you can't put any content on your post+ account that violates any laws, including laws that protect intellectual property rights of others. This is super important, because Tumblr's post+ FAQ also states that you can post anything that you would regularly post on tumblr, which I'm sure many will take to mean that gifsets, fanworks, etc are fair game, since all of that stuff can be posted on tumblr now. However, the difference is, you're not making money from the fanworks you're posting or reblogging now. Once money enters the equation, the game changes.

Tumblr is making it seem like any and all content goes for post+ accounts, knowing 90% of this site is fanworks. This is not true and you'll be opening yourself up for lawsuits if you charge for fanworks.

6. Tumblr further disclaims any and all liability in any legal issues.

tl;dr: Please do not make a post+ account, bc you will be opening yourself to lawsuits and if that happens, Tumblr's response will be not our problem, you agreed to all the terms which said you couldn't do that, sorry not sorry. Please protect yourself.
