Since I couldn’t find much online talking about the recent batch of bootleg D-Arts Mega Man X figures, I’ve taken it onto myself to record some of my own findings on the matter. This is actually the second video on the subject after having found a legitimate version at a recent anime convention, so it offers a more direct comparison between the two. The original unboxing video can be found here.
Progress shots of the modification of a bootleg D-Arts Mega Man X figure into his Second Armor appearance. Learned quite a bit along the way with some experimentation with both thermoplastics and Apoxie Sculpt, which I had never used prior.
Currently tinkering around Aseprite to try and figure out how the general art and animation style works for the recently release beat em up, Fight’N Rage. Decided to test a few things using one of the enemy characters in the game, Tsong-Doo, as the test model for this; still working out the general rules for how the portraits work, as the samples for the player characters differ a bit in how extreme shadows seem to be handled as it feels like the male characters have more harsh shadows in this case.
The animation style was easier to pick up though, with the extended animation shown here adding a punch and low kick that this character does not natively have. Looks to use the general conceit of blur frames for more rapid motions, which makes sense when you are trying to show quicker attacks and also save on frame count, which would have been important as the game was animated by all of one person I believe.
Best safety sign I ever saw
Been playing a lot of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, and got inspired by that and watching too much Conan the Barbarian to draw a familiar looking NPC from the game...

Always interesting to see design documents like this!

RUN.
Can’t recall the last time I did any sort of work on Felicia frames, but I was asked a while ago to edit a guard crush animation originally made by Chamat, but modified to match some a revamped sprite set that added more details to Felicia’s sprite and made some changes to her shading. The first few frames still use the default DS sprites, as I just didn’t have the tweaked block frames handy when working at the time.
Consider this: new cartoon Roll
This would greatly balance things out.
Look, I can understand that a redesign on the character might not be the worst idea, but something about the current Mega Man X. Bad Box / Tron look seems a bit too busy visually...
Flying Hayate GIF
As Twitter ate the image quality of the file there, here’s a cleaner look at the animation; Hayate’s running animation is unchanged from Ninja Senki, but the shuriken was actually drawn from scratch. Done while waiting for the next game reveal on their stream!
Went to down a bit on a scanned template of a blank cover issue. Likeness based off a local cosplayer with an affinity for WW costumes.
#Nintendo
These are some very crisp and clean representations of some classic consoles. I wonder if any of these are available on shirts...
