He liked the idea of staying with Hikaru throughout this procedure. He’d never had to instruct anyone about his job. Yes, he had taught people in the Academy when they needed help with their work but this was completely new to him. “If you would like to follow us, we’ll bring you to the bridge.” Smiling again, he started walking Hikaru to the turbolift. “It’s OK, Hikaru. I like this idea.” Besides, he really should spend more time with him outside of work hours.

When Pavel agreed and started after him, Hikaru grinned, giving his friend a playful nudge. "So, this is going to be fun." He wiggled his eyebrows. "You, me, and the newbies."

When they reached the bridge he gave Spock a nod as means of asking for permission. The Vulcan rose from the captain's chair and nodded in return, approaching the small group. "This is the bridge." Hikaru said. "And I'm sure I don't need to tell you who this is."

Hikaru didn't reply to the other text, going through to where Pavel was and crouching down in front of him, touching his cheek tenderly.

Pavel whined, tensing when the nurse neared and placed the hypo at his neck - three seconds and a sharp shot later, the Russian was curling up on the bed, groaning and holding the spot on his neck that had been injected. 

Chapel muttered something under her breath about moody teenagers, noting something down on a chart before turning to Sulu. “He’ll be okay by the morning, he doesn’t need to stay. The shot will make him incredibly drowsy and possibly very disorientated for a while, sir.” She forced a smile, striding out of the room, taking the used hypo with her to throw into the waste disposal.

The teenager looked at Hikaru. “S’eet gone? N’more-… n’more-… thingies.” He made a wiggly-finger hand gesture.

Hikaru rolled his eyes at him. "Yeah. Whatever that means." He said.

He gathered Pavel into his arms then and carried him, not to Pavel's quarters, but to his own. Hikaru had to get rid of that plant and made sure there were no spores before he took Pavel back there. He placed him in the bed and stripped him down without hesitation, tucking him in.

"Go to sleep." He said. "I'll clear your room." He left.

"Awh- so nice ‘t know you care about his feelings, alkie." She laughed, tilting her head. "But now I’m kinda offended that you don’t wanna be good friends with me-"

Hikaru rolled his eyes. "Aw man, I can't win, can I? We can be friends, of course we can." He shook his head then. He'd been joking.

Hikaru looked up from where he’d been quickly shoving noodles into his mouth, dribbling sauce down his chin, just in time to see Jim coming towards him. He swallowed and wiped his chin on his sleeve and waved.

"Hey, Jim." He smiled.

“Bones got on my butt for not resting enough so now I’m stuck off shift for the rest of the day.”

A smile tugged at the captain’s lips as he tilted his head to the side. “Just don’t tell me I didn’t go to bed right away. I’d rather not have another hypo in my neck. Those things hurt.”

Hikaru sniggered a little. "I know you love your job, sir, but rest is important too." He smiled. "And I won't tell him. No way am I getting on the wrong side of that man!"

He finished his noodles and pushed away the bowl, sitting back in his chair with a satisfied sigh.

Pavel took his motorbike, as he left the warehouse but instead of heading home to his comfortable and large apartment, he headed for the Poliakoff territory. Everybody knew the city was divided into different territories, the biggest one in the centre belonging the the Chekov family; the one his men had earlier stolen the rifles from belonged to the Poliakoff family. They had the one thing Pavel still wanted but didn’t have under his control yet: The harbour.

He wasn’t out looking for trouble; he still merely wanted to test his new toy, as he crossed the invisible border and left the ‘neutral zone’ as they called it: A thin line, only several blocks wide, sandwiched between the territories. He was speeding but there was no police to stop him and even if they had, most of the time his name was enough to avoid getting any tickets. Of course there were still a few cops who prided themselves in being incorruptible but they were few and overall powerless. 

He left his bike in a narrow alleyway, pulling out his mobile to type a shot text to one of his boys asking him if his target was still in place. He didn’t wait for a positive answer, as he climbed the stairs to the roof. Pavel settled on the edge of the roof, setting up his rifle and glancing over into the window of the building across the street.

Hikaru found nothing more of interest in the building and so made his way back up onto the roof. When he got there he stoped for a few moments, closed his eyes, and simply breathed. The night wasn't right and something felt off but Hikaru had no idea what. He just knew that something was about to happen. he wanted to head home and evaluate his findings but he knew he had to find out what was going on, even if he had no idea where to begin.

He scaled the building and hoped onto the next, stopping again to look about. Hikaru considered using his powers to seek out abnormalities, like he had done in the building, but because he had no general direction in which to send the pours he knew it could take all night for them to get back to him with anything.

It was at that moment he heard movement from below. The police who were guarding the building had suddenly had a call through on their radio to say that someone on a motorbike was speeding through town towards the Poliakoff territory. As quick as a flash Hikaru jumped back onto the roof of the building that had earlier that day been robbed, looking about wildly for any sign of this motorbike or it's rider.

Jim stretched his arms, feeling the fatigue that had been forming during the duration of his shift kicking in his systems. It was a rough day for Jim—three shifts in one day was no joke. Usually he’d only do two, but when the situation calls for it, he takes three.

Muscle pains are starting to be a part of his daily life. Sitting in the Captain’s chair for hours, only standing up when he was needed somewhere was not a good exercise. But other than that, he would just stay in that chair like an obedient puppy—except the sticking out the tongue part and the unrelenting boredom and the unspoken prayer about how agonizing it was and how much he wants it to end.

Initially Jim planned to stay in his quarters for a while, possibly sleep through his Alpha shift and eat, but the sudden change of mind made him head down towards the direction of the training room. 

… And that’s the story how he ended up watching Sulu silently from the far corner of the room. 

He hadn’t seen the man fence before. The Federation had made it a rule to use only phasers set to kill or stun when in danger. Of course the Enterprise has to abide by the rules, although Jim secretly violates every single rule they establish. Though he sometimes fails to remember that a part of his crew are more efficient in other things rather than a phaser.

Hikaru spun about at the sound of a voice. Jim had startled him because he'd been completely alone and hadn't heard anyone come in. When he recovered however he smiled and wiped a hand over his sweating brow.

"You bet." He said. "I don't get to do this often. I think I'm going rusty, so I had to practise. Gets all the stresses out."

He walked over to Jim and presented him with the handle of his training sword, eyebrows raised as an indication for him to take it. Hikaru wondered if Jim would like fencing, or if he'd take to it, but he wanted to find out.

"I can teach you if you want? I'd love to had a partner to practise with." He added. "Seriously, for stress, it's brilliant."

"I have to admit it’s pretty vell done.", Pavel told him, taking another pretzel. "Hmm.. Sake sounds good, I’ve never really had it before, so I might as vell try it now.", he responded. He usually just stuck to Vodka and the occasional glass of Scotch when Scotty convinced Pavel to drink with him.

Hikaru clambered out of the fort, falling flat on his face when his foot got tangled in the sheets, but he simply laughed and went to the fridge. "I'm going to get you so drunk." He said on coming back, settling beside Pavel and holding out the bottle of sake. "Here. Just don't drink it too quickly. I want you drunk, not sick."

Since there was only one other navigator, Pavel felt more at ease. He didn’t need to shout to a crowd, he could talk one on one with someone else. He didn’t get a chance before Hikaru started his own little speech. When he was nudged, he couldn’t help another grin before nodding. “Of course. There is only one navigator so there will not be a problem. Like my colleague has said, we do work closely together on the bridge so you should be trained to do so as well.”

Hikaru went to Pavel's side and spoke so that only he would hear. "We don't have to if you don't want to." He said. "It was just an idea." And he smiled because he didn't want Pavel to feel forced into anything. In all honesty he just didn't want to be parted from his friend. Though they both worked on the bridge they rarely got to spend time together because they were always working. He turned back to his recruits. "How about I show you guys the bridge?"

Her chuckle grew as she wobbled, and Neha reached out one hand to steady his chair. “I’m sure it was. And I’m sure you did. To be fair, you’re kinda hot without ‘em.”

Hikaru raised his eyebrows. "Ohhhh! So the truth comes out now!" He laughed. "Watch yourself, Neha, you'll have Pavel getting jealous if we become good friends."
