The scraping of a fork scraping against a plate nearly made her scream.
Glancing over, blue-green locked with dark chocolate hues.
Hearing the she-wolf’s words made her frown.
“It’s a fuckin’ joke, Clearwater.”
Slowly, Serefine stood up, brushing away Jake’s hand on her shoulder
trying to make her sit back down.
”What did you think it meant, Princess?”
Tonight had been going so well,
but obviously that wasn’t meant to last.
Paul sighed, dropping his face in his hands.
Of course Serefine would reply. Shaking his
head, he crossed his arms and sat back in
the chair. There was no way he was getting
in between them. At least this would amuse
him.
Glancing at Serefine, he tried to cover a small
smile as she stood up. As much as it scared
him, he loved it when she stood her ground. It
let him know, she wouldn’t take shit from anyone.
Coughing when Sam threw a glare his way for
not saying anything, his eyes shifted to Leah.
She was sitting motionless, eyes boring into
Serefine’s as if daring her to say another word.
With a small upturn of the lip, Leah barked out
a laugh. Everyone around the table stared at her
as if she was insane.
“You think you’re so funny don’t you?”
Paul watched as Leah glanced around the table
taking in the people before her then set fork on
the table. Standing up, she put a hand on her hip.
Paul snorted into his hand. His girl was funny as
fuck, thank you very much.
Ah, here we go, the real reason she has a problem
with Serefine.
“I’m sick and tired of your bullshit. Walking
around here doing whatever the fuck you want,
like you own the damn place. Like you belong
here. You’re nothing but trash and I, for one,
am tired of it.”
Paul frowned and rose an eyebrow at Leah. On one
hand, she was insulting his imprint. On the other, she
was amusing the fuck out of him. Looking towards
Serefine, he decided he would take her cue.
