Meet the Mun and the Rules

The Mun:

Hey everyone, Mun here! I use they/them pronouns. There’s not much to tell, I started this blog because I relate to Callum a lot honestly. Please don’t be afraid to reach out if you want to rp with me, by the way, I’m not at all selective. I am just one, friendly marshmallow, who wants to spread some Callum dorkiness on Tumblr because I’ve noticed there just aren’t enough active Tumblrs for our boy. I feel like I might be awkward with his characterization at first, so please don’t judge me too harshly for that, it’s my first time roleplaying as a canon character. Also, I may get some things wrong, as I only have knowledge of the world up until what’s happened in season 3 in the show, unfortunately I haven’t had the pleasure of reading the comics or any of the extra books, as much as I wish I did. I typically write in third person limited, it’s the style I’m most comfortable with. But if Callum is just answering an ask, it will probably just be dialogue, and any action written will be between asterisks.

The Rules:

- Let me make this clear, this is a SFW blog only! My muse is, according to canon timeline: 15-17, a child. I am not comfortable with making him answer anything that goes beyond sfw topics, and quite frankly neither should you.

- I still don’t want to venture into too dark of topics for Callum, due to the fact that he is once again a child. Dark concepts can still be included such as death and other such things (which will be tagged accordingly), and don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you don’t know where the boundary is. I’m very open to discussing and talking it over about what can and can’t be included.

- any rp memes/ask memes reblogged are good to go whenever! Those suckers could have been reblogged a year ago, and I promise you they will hold the exact same validity! You won’t be awkward or weird for sending an ask for it!

- All AU’s, OCs, head canons and crossover characters are welcome here! I’m a very friendly and open blog, and Callum has a natural curiosity, it’s unlikely we’ll be turning anyone away, regardless of fandom or character.

- That said, no godmodding. I won’t tolerate it, you have your characters to control, and I have mine. Rping is slightly pointless without that balance, after all.

- I will do my best to work with one-liners, I really will. But please try to write more than one sentence, go on a full on ramble! The more you write gives me more to work off of.

- I reserve the right to reject any asks or requests to rp that make me uncomfortable.

That being said, Callum and I are both looking forward to getting to know you all, and hope you have fun and stay safe while you’re with us!

However did you manage such a feat? Most elves can only connect to their birth arcanum, I know of only a few who have managed others.

Well, it started with the Sky primal stone that I used, but then I smashed it to help Zym hatch. And after that, I tried a dark magic spell that knocked me out and I had this like, really weird dream. And when I woke up, I just knew I had understood the Sky arcanum. If that makes sense? I really only have ideas on how I actually managed to do it.

Wait…

There are elves who managed to form a connection outside of being born with it?! Why aren’t they anywhere in the books I’ve been trying to research about that?! What are their names, which sources did they connect to? Did they keep the connection they already had at birth?

*he pauses, mid way into his ranting position before straightening with a cough*

The King looked at Callum and laughed but his eyes were full of warmth. “I suggest we leave the baking to Barius.” He said and took the page, tracing the lines over. “I love it, if you don’t mind I’d like to have this one framed”

He smiled up at him, relieved that his gift had gone over well. “Uh, y-yeah! If that’s what you want, I don’t mind at all.”

The King looked up and chuckled. “You know, I still keep some of your older drawing in one of the drawers in my room. The ones before you started sketching better than the man doing my portraits”

“Wait, really?” Callum blinked in surprise. “I…didn’t even think you looked at them.”

The former King of Katolis was walking beside his horse, or rather, hobbling. The white mare nosed him gently and eventually Harrow gave up and mounted, patting her neck. “Guess I’m not as healed as I’d like to be Edel.” He chuckled sadly as he rode on through the woods. It had been what ? Week ? Months since the assassins came ? It didn’t matter really, but the King was constantly left amazed at how long it was taking for his injuries to heal. Of course being stabbed multiple times and falling out of a tower was going to do some damage, sure, but did it have to make him feel twenty years older ? Well, he wouldn’t even be alive without his new friend so best not dwell on that. Suddenly he came to a stop when he saw his son wandering outside of castle walks. He dismounted and stood there in disbelief, leaning on Edel “Callum ? Is that you ?”

Callum had looked up from the book he was holding (with the knowledge Xadia provided him, he was often reading books that had been sent over. Usually books on Sky magic, but any magic in general was interesting to him.) and his eyes widened in shock. He blinked, then rubbed his eyes, trying to make sure this wasn’t some hallucination from his lack of sleep from his studies. “I...dad?” His expression was as disbelieved as his father’s as he hesitantly stepped closer, almost afraid to do anything in case Harrow disappeared.

“I... I don’t understand. You died, the ribbon on Rayla’s arm... the funeral that took place. How... how are you in front of me right now?” His voice shook from emotion, sticking in his throat and making it nearly impossible to speak.

Harrow stood by the mare debating taking his cane from the saddle bag and leaning on it for a minute before the former king gave in to the pain and unsteadiness and took out the staff. He really hated this. Before the king had been hearty and hale, seeming ageless. Now it was as if the years had suddenly fallen on him, making the man weak, tired and ill.

“I can’t tell you anything expect that it wasn’t my body at the funeral. I fell from the high tower and woke up in a cabin a fair distance away. I don’t know much but my friend is coming after me and she’ll explain more.” He could hear the sound of clinking and the mule behind him and it didn’t take long until the woman rode after him. “This is Sienna, I have her to thank for the fact that I’m alive.”

He stared over at the approaching woman. At this point, the boy had been shocked into silence. He didn’t understand how this was happening, he could barely process that his father was alive and right in front of him. But, the explanations could come later, Harrow’s weakened state was of more importance. “Dad, why don’t you get back on, we’ll get you back to the castle and to the healer,” he instructed, walking towards him in case he needed help.

The woman was closer now and he nodded towards her, slightly awkward about it.

“That is exactly what I was going to suggest, lead the way prince.” Sienna was looking around from her mule, her face half hidden by a silk veil. While Edel had nothing but a small bag on the saddle and reins Flo was laden with bags filled with herbs, books and other odds and ends Sienna had thought to pack. “I must be getting old” the king muttered to himself before patting Edel who kneeled and let him mount more easily. “As Sienna said, let’s go, meanwhile how about you tell us a bit about how I’m still alive ?” He turned to Callum “She’s an extraordinarily skilled mage”

Sienna purred but waved off the praise. “I’m a lucky mage and nothing more. It was sheer luck that I was by the castle that night with everything needed just as the moon was waning enough for me to cast a spell.” Sun magic, was there anything it couldn’t do ? “As for why the ribbons fell, well, there’s no such thing as a foolproof spell.” Harrow cleared his throat and spoke up. “But enough about me. How’s everyone else ? Ezran ? Amaya ? Viren ?”

Callum’s head was still whirling, trying to process all of the information and his feelings about it at once, he responded slowly. “Viren... he’s not here, which is probably for the best, he’d be jailed on sight. He wasn’t...he wasn’t the man you thought he was, he betrayed us all. But, Amaya’s doing well! There’s no border to defend anymore, so she’s actually in the castle now, you can see her later. And Ezran’s doing pretty good as a king, Opeli’s been doing her best to help him. But I guess he won’t uh, need to be acting as king for much longer, huh?” His tone was light and joking, anything to try and make sense of everything right now.

And Ezran, he hadn’t even thought about how Ezran was going to react to any of this. He’d probably be a bit happier to see him than Callum. Not that he wasn’t happy to see his father alive, it was just confusing, and there was a tightness in his chest that he couldn’t explain. “D-do you know what’s been happening between us and Xadia? I can fill you in, if you need it,” he offered. He needed something to take his mind off of this, if only for a little. They were already at the castle, passing by the extremely shocked looking guards and towards the stables first, to take care of the adults’ mounts.

The king sighed heavily, he had expected the news about Viren to be entirely honest but said nothing. “I can’t wait to see the rest of the family.” He smiled and continued to listen. Opeli would’ve helped of course, as would Amaya and probably Callum. “I’m sure you helped Ezran a lot too, though you’re right, he won’t need to act as king after today.” Sienna rolled her eyes playfully at him and he relented. “I mean, a few days.”

The new information about Xadia, he had heard done things but not a lot. “Well, as far as I’ve heard you, Ezran and a Moonshadow Elf whose name I don’t remember right now are the heroes and bringers of peace who brought the Dragon Prince to his mother. And I am extremely proud of you.” He looked warmly at Callum as he dismounted and took the cane, it was plain but sturdy enough to help him walk. “Of course, I expect to hear the full account of your adventures soon enough.”

“Just know young prince , he’ll be bragging about this to everyone he meets for the rest of your lives.” Sienna laughed while unsaddling Edel and Flo and politely asking a shocked stablehand to take her bags inside the old mage’s quarters, with Harrow’s approval.

He felt his cheeks warm at the praise of his father, laughing lightly along with Sienna. “I don’t doubt it.” He lead them inside the castle, heading to the infirmary. The plan, in his mind anyways, was to get Harrow to the healer and he would find Ezran later to explain what was happening.

This...did not happen. As soon as they turned the corner, Ezran was there, Bait in his arms. Callum froze, almost hoping to back Sienna and Harrow up so they couldn’t be seen, but it was too late. The boy king looked up. His blue eyes only landed on Callum at first, before they looked behind him and his jaw dropped open.

“Uh, h-hey, Ez... I know this might be a lot but it’s uh, it’s-“

“Dad!”

Carefully setting Bait down, Ezran ran towards him and hugged him tightly. The Glowtoad joined him, practically shining Orange as he smiled, flopping near the former king as well.

Harrow immediately gave the cane to Sienna and kneeled down to hug Ezran and also scooped Bait into his arms. “I missed you so much, and you too grumpy old toad.” He laughed while holding them close before looking up at Callum. “And what are you standing there for ? Come on.” He dragged his older son into the embrace as well.

Sienna watched, her tiger ears were now peeking from under the veil as the woman tried to wipe the traces of sadness off of her face. “The short version of the story is that King Harrow is alive and if not well, will soon be. The long version you’ll hear shortly over tea and from what I’ve heard of this place a quite frankly outrageous quantity of jelly tarts.”

Harrow stood back up slowly, using the wooden cane to support himself while gently letting his sons and Bait go. He was not looking forward to having to see the healer and show the mess under his bandages and tunic. Sienna had needed to sear the wounds to stop the bleeding and the burns were healing slowly and messily along with the wounds. “Just after the healer sees Sienna’s already done everything that needs doing and sends me to my rooms while trying to pick his jaw up from the floor. Who knew coming back from the dead would have so many people starring at me ?” One thing definetly didn’t change and it was his brand of humor which had Sienna roll her eyes

Ezran had giggled, while Callum was still standing in shock at the hug. “There’s not really that many people who come back from the dead, dad. I’ll go tell him, so he has more time to pick his jaw back up.” Without another word, the boy was off with Bait in his arms.

Callum, finally managing to come back to reality coughed. “I…guess we better follow after him then.” So, the group did, entering into the room of the healer.

Uh, well, I don’t really have an end of the school year! School doesn’t really...end, eheh. I get small breaks from studying a subject, but there isn’t really a time where I have month-long breaks from all learning. Although, I am pretty good at wiggling my way out of lessons every now and then. *proud smile*

But, I do know something about being bored out of my mind, and if that’s what the end of a school year is like for you, then I can see how that’s not exactly great. If nothing else, it is ending, so you’ll have ways to entertain yourself soon enough!

🍪- like you wouldn’t believe! And I thought Ezran had a sweet tooth, I’m pretty sure they’re living off of sugar. Not actually but, y’know.

✨- well, they do read fanfictions, I’ve been told that much. I don’t know what any of them are about though because every time they start on one, I am conveniently blocked from it! Which, I find rude, quite frankly/j

👀- Yeah, we get along great! They’re like an older sibling, which is weird, for both of us. Since I’ve never had an older sibling and they’ve never had a younger one. But it’s nice, I actually really like them.

⭐ Is there any genres the mun enjoys writing but you don’t enjoy being part of? 

🔥 How would you spend one day with the mun if you could? 

⭐️- Yes, namely ANGST. They’re not always in the mood for it but when they are...it’s a little terrifying. I don’t want to be gravely injured, or see my friends injured, or dying, or tortured! I’m just lucky they feel like they can’t touch me much since I’m not a muse of their own creation. I do feel sorry for their other muses though...

Oh, and also, of the uh...Sandwiches genre, but luckily we’ve both agreed to stay away from that one.

🔥- I’d spend a lot of it teaching them about magic! They’re really curious about it since they don’t seem to have it in their world. Though, they’re a pretty low-energy person, and they have a couple shows and movies they want to show me. So, we’d also fill the time doing that. Anything else is spent filling them in on Katolis and me, they are very curious about me.

The former King of Katolis was walking beside his horse, or rather, hobbling. The white mare nosed him gently and eventually Harrow gave up and mounted, patting her neck. “Guess I’m not as healed as I’d like to be Edel.” He chuckled sadly as he rode on through the woods. It had been what ? Week ? Months since the assassins came ? It didn’t matter really, but the King was constantly left amazed at how long it was taking for his injuries to heal. Of course being stabbed multiple times and falling out of a tower was going to do some damage, sure, but did it have to make him feel twenty years older ? Well, he wouldn’t even be alive without his new friend so best not dwell on that. Suddenly he came to a stop when he saw his son wandering outside of castle walks. He dismounted and stood there in disbelief, leaning on Edel “Callum ? Is that you ?”

Callum had looked up from the book he was holding (with the knowledge Xadia provided him, he was often reading books that had been sent over. Usually books on Sky magic, but any magic in general was interesting to him.) and his eyes widened in shock. He blinked, then rubbed his eyes, trying to make sure this wasn’t some hallucination from his lack of sleep from his studies. “I...dad?” His expression was as disbelieved as his father’s as he hesitantly stepped closer, almost afraid to do anything in case Harrow disappeared.

“I... I don’t understand. You died, the ribbon on Rayla’s arm... the funeral that took place. How... how are you in front of me right now?” His voice shook from emotion, sticking in his throat and making it nearly impossible to speak.

Harrow stood by the mare debating taking his cane from the saddle bag and leaning on it for a minute before the former king gave in to the pain and unsteadiness and took out the staff. He really hated this. Before the king had been hearty and hale, seeming ageless. Now it was as if the years had suddenly fallen on him, making the man weak, tired and ill.

“I can’t tell you anything expect that it wasn’t my body at the funeral. I fell from the high tower and woke up in a cabin a fair distance away. I don’t know much but my friend is coming after me and she’ll explain more.” He could hear the sound of clinking and the mule behind him and it didn’t take long until the woman rode after him. “This is Sienna, I have her to thank for the fact that I’m alive.”

He stared over at the approaching woman. At this point, the boy had been shocked into silence. He didn’t understand how this was happening, he could barely process that his father was alive and right in front of him. But, the explanations could come later, Harrow’s weakened state was of more importance. “Dad, why don’t you get back on, we’ll get you back to the castle and to the healer,” he instructed, walking towards him in case he needed help.

The woman was closer now and he nodded towards her, slightly awkward about it.

“That is exactly what I was going to suggest, lead the way prince.” Sienna was looking around from her mule, her face half hidden by a silk veil. While Edel had nothing but a small bag on the saddle and reins Flo was laden with bags filled with herbs, books and other odds and ends Sienna had thought to pack. “I must be getting old” the king muttered to himself before patting Edel who kneeled and let him mount more easily. “As Sienna said, let’s go, meanwhile how about you tell us a bit about how I’m still alive ?” He turned to Callum “She’s an extraordinarily skilled mage”

Sienna purred but waved off the praise. “I’m a lucky mage and nothing more. It was sheer luck that I was by the castle that night with everything needed just as the moon was waning enough for me to cast a spell.” Sun magic, was there anything it couldn’t do ? “As for why the ribbons fell, well, there’s no such thing as a foolproof spell.” Harrow cleared his throat and spoke up. “But enough about me. How’s everyone else ? Ezran ? Amaya ? Viren ?”

Callum’s head was still whirling, trying to process all of the information and his feelings about it at once, he responded slowly. “Viren... he’s not here, which is probably for the best, he’d be jailed on sight. He wasn’t...he wasn’t the man you thought he was, he betrayed us all. But, Amaya’s doing well! There’s no border to defend anymore, so she’s actually in the castle now, you can see her later. And Ezran’s doing pretty good as a king, Opeli’s been doing her best to help him. But I guess he won’t uh, need to be acting as king for much longer, huh?” His tone was light and joking, anything to try and make sense of everything right now.

And Ezran, he hadn’t even thought about how Ezran was going to react to any of this. He’d probably be a bit happier to see him than Callum. Not that he wasn’t happy to see his father alive, it was just confusing, and there was a tightness in his chest that he couldn’t explain. “D-do you know what’s been happening between us and Xadia? I can fill you in, if you need it,” he offered. He needed something to take his mind off of this, if only for a little. They were already at the castle, passing by the extremely shocked looking guards and towards the stables first, to take care of the adults’ mounts.
