Callum's look for the Murder Mystery event
@rededgefashion
"Okay, Japan was great, but I am so damn glad to be home, even if I am jetlagged." @rededgerpstarterblog
"You should be way over your jetlag now though, Everleigh."
"I barley stepped off the plan once we got back and I had to go straight to work. You know how exhausted I am?" @rededgerpstarterblog
"Dude, that fucking sucks. Hopefully you can rest soon though."
"Please tell me I'm not the only one who has been keeping tabs on the World Cup going on right now. I know USA isn't in it anymore, but the matches have been amazing to watch." @rededgerpstarterblog
"I watched all of the World Cup. Not gonan lie, sucks that Erling's team didn't win, but still, it was a good time to watch it."
"Hmm, I needed this coffee trip, thank you for joining me." Maren smiles at her friend. "I don't know the last time I got to sit and relax, so this is great." @rededgerpstarterblog
"Well you put up with my ass in Japan, so it was the least I can do." Callum teases with a smile. "But, you're welcome, Maren."
Lori rolled her eyes and shook her head “ Yeahhh I dont think she giving you the googly eyes because she thinks your cute. I think she thinks your a special kind of person and she’s smiling because she doesnt want to hurt your feelings maybe,” she shrugged her shoulders, joking with him. “ Or she’s just looking at me,” she smiled.
"I mean, that could be a possibility too. You are hot."
"It's the one that says honey and roses." She looks at Callum. "I really just want to know if it smells good, you know?"
"Well let me tell you if it's good or not." He smiles at her and picks up the tester bottle. He sprays it on the paper and nods. "It smells great." He promises her. "I don't really know how to describe it, but if you're looking to get anyone's attention with this enchancting smell, I say go for it."
"I am doing amazing, Callum." Aspyn smiles at him. "How about you? Did you like Japan?"
"I loved Japan, Aspyn." He looks at her with a smile. "I think that was the most fun I had had in a long time, actually. It went by way too fast though."
"I loved Japan, Callum." Maren smiles at him. "Seriously, I think that was the most fun I had had in a long time. How about you?"
"Same, Maren." He smiles at her. "It was a lot of fun, but June went by way too fast you know?"
"Yeah they are, it wouldn't be an actual pool day if I didn't have it." He chuckled.
Callum laughed again. "Where did you even find that shark floatie man?" He asks. "That's pretty cool, I'm not gonna lie."
Lori took off her cover up and got in the pool with Callum " Yeah, yeah I'm just here to make sure you don't drown yourself on purpose to get the lifeguards attention," she chuckled. " You know she has other people, who actually can't swim to supervise right? " she asked him as she joked.
"Oh come on Lorelai, give more credit than that." He laughs and looks at her. "She can supervise and still flirt with me."
☀️Under the Sun Challenge ☀️ - Wave's End
The heat had become unbearable.
Even standing outside for a few minutes left people exhausted, sweat soaking through their clothes before they had even reached their destination. The air hung heavy over Wave's End, refusing to move, refusing to cool. Every day brought new reports of power failures, shrinking water supplies, and overcrowded emergency shelters.
Callum knew the district couldn't afford hesitation.
As district representative, he gathered emergency personnel, utility officials, medical staff, and community leaders before sunrise. There wasn't enough water to satisfy everyone. There wasn't enough electricity to keep every neighborhood powered. Every choice would leave someone disappointed, but doing nothing would leave people dead.
His first priority was protecting the most vulnerable.
Hospitals, nursing homes, childcare facilities, and residents dependent on electrically powered medical equipment were placed on the protected power grid. Rotating outages were scheduled throughout the rest of the district to prevent the entire system from collapsing. It wasn't fair, but fairness had become a luxury they no longer had.
Next came the water crisis.
Callum ordered mandatory water rationing across Wave's End. Distribution stations were established throughout the district, staffed by volunteers who worked tirelessly beneath the scorching sun. Every household was guaranteed enough drinking water for basic survival, while nonessential use was temporarily suspended. Decorative fountains were shut down, public irrigation was halted, and every available resource was redirected toward keeping people alive.
Knowing many residents had nowhere to escape the heat, Callum authorized schools, community centers, libraries, and places of worship to operate as emergency cooling shelters around the clock. Cots lined gymnasium floors, volunteers handed out bottled water and meals, and medical teams remained on site to treat dehydration and heat exhaustion before conditions became life-threatening.
Callum refused to lead from behind a desk.
He spent his days moving from shelter to shelter, helping unload supply trucks, checking on exhausted volunteers, and speaking directly with families who had lost power. He listened to frustrated business owners whose stores were forced to close during scheduled outages. He comforted parents worried about their children sleeping through another sweltering night. Every conversation reminded him that there were no easy answers.
The criticism came quickly.
Residents accused him of favoring certain neighborhoods. Businesses argued the rotating blackouts were destroying their livelihoods. Others claimed the water restrictions had gone too far. Some even demanded his resignation, insisting he had failed the district.
Callum accepted every complaint without argument.
He understood that fear often sounded like anger.
As difficult as it was to hear, he refused to make decisions based on popularity. Every order he signed was guided by one question: Would this save the most lives?
When the worst of the heat wave finally began to ease, Wave's End had endured rolling blackouts, strict rationing, and countless sleepless nights. Businesses had suffered losses, public approval had fallen, and many residents still questioned Callum's decisions.
But the hospitals had remained operational.
Emergency shelters had never closed their doors.
The district's most vulnerable residents had survived.
The crisis had demanded impossible choices, and Callum carried every one of them. He knew history might judge his decisions harshly, but if those decisions meant more families would live to see another sunrise, they were burdens he would willingly bear.

Lorelai was relaxing in the lounging chair by the pool reading a book. She had her shades on to try to hide the fact that she was falling asleep. Once her friend came over and caught her, she jumped a bit before lowering her glasses. " Active? Baby the pool will only make me fall asleep harder. I don't think that's a great move," she chuckled. THen placed down her book and moved her glasses up on her head as a headband. " You know what on second thought, sure, " she smiled as she got up.
Callum smiled. "I'm glad you're going to join me." He winked at her.
"What if I don't want to swim at all?" He asked with a chuckle. "I'm kidding, I'm very much going to join you in the pool."
"I knew you couldn't say no to me." Callum joked. "How are you doing, man? You liking Japan so far?"
Liam let out an audible groan when Callum listed his options. His desire for either, exactly zero. "You know what also helps with beating jet lag? My dear old friend Maryjane. How bout I make you a deal. We hang out in the pool for like an hour and then you help me go find her?"
"Fuck to the yes, I am so damn down with that." Callum smiled at Liam's offer. "Count me all the way in and you already know that they'll have better Maryjane here than we do back at Red Edge."
"You need to hold your horses, Callum." He laughed. "I'm coming, I'm coming, okay? I'm old, it takes me some time to get there."
"You're not even that old, Rowan." Callum looked at him and chuckled. "You're just saying that to make me feel bad for you." He joked.
"I will join you in the pool in a bit. I have to find Alexa first."
"Alright man, I understand." He said with a nod. "Just don't be too long, the pool waits for no one." He chuckled.
