                                                 Backstory

Raised in Red Edge, California, she learned early that the law doesn’t protect everyone—only those who know how to use it.

New York hardened her. Long nights, ruthless firms, and zero patience for weakness turned her sharp, controlled, and unflinching. Now at Grant’s Law Firm, she’s known for taking the cases within the Family area. Some that seem impossible and some that needed a lot of work, but she wins them without theatrics. She doesn’t bluff, she doesn’t threaten—she dismantles. Calm, precise, and unsettlingly prepared.

Grant's Law Firm was just her start, but now she was ready to take on her own. Once she finishes her last case, her own firm would be open just in time and based in Red Edge.

NOW

Now she was back in Red Edge, and the familiarity pressed in on her from all sides. The streets remembered her. The houses stood like witnesses. Even the people looked at her a second too long, as if they knew exactly where she’d been—and why she’d left.

She said the case brought her home. A client who needed her. A month and a half before the final court date. That was the version she let circulate, the clean explanation that kept anyone from asking harder questions.

But Red Edge wasn’t fooled. It carried what she’d done in its quiet corners and dim-lit rooms, in the spaces no one talked about anymore. She’d left once believing distance could turn memory into something harmless. It hadn’t.

Staying felt less like a choice and more like a reckoning. If she left again, it would still be waiting. Here, at least, she could face it.

New York was temporary. Red Edge was permanent.

Lori took off her cover up and got in the pool with Callum " Yeah, yeah I'm just here to make sure you don't drown yourself on purpose to get the lifeguards attention," she chuckled. " You know she has other people, who actually can't swim to supervise right? " she asked him as she joked.

"Oh come on Lorelai, give more credit than that." He laughs and looks at her. "She can supervise and still flirt with me."

Lori rolled her eyes and shook her head “ Yeahhh I dont think she giving you the googly eyes because she thinks your cute. I think she thinks your a special kind of person and she’s smiling because she doesnt want to hurt your feelings maybe,” she shrugged her shoulders, joking with him. “ Or she’s just looking at me,” she smiled.

Lori looked over hearing a voice after walking in and seen it was Cam. She chuckled " I'm here for neither. One because I can't play pool and two because I actually needed a drink," she nodded. She then shrugged " Plus I don't think your pretty," she smiled as she messed with him and sat down at the bar across.

" Oh honey, I bought me an empty suitcase just for that. I was ultimately prepared to go this hard on Japan merchandise," Lori laughed and nodded. " What is the one thing you got that you were most happiest about in those things though?" she asked her.

Lori looked around abit once Rowan said it and sat down with him . " Okayyy...and I see we've already ordered drinks. This must be serious business," she nodded her head as she put her bag on the back of her chair.

Lori gave her a I do kinda look " You have no idea. I can't even remember the last time I got laid. it's actually been that long," she shook her head with a sigh. " I honestly think I'm a virgin again," she laughed.

"Of course!" Yasmin said as she embraced Lori in a quick hug before she pulled away. "Really? I'd expect someone as confident you to go up and sing." She said with a smile and nodded. "I am, unsure of what song yet."

Lori laughed abit as she hugged her back. She shrugged " I'd rather let my voice be heard with the annoying words of objection your honor confidently, then singing up there," she nodded. Lori thought about it for a moment " Maybe...Hollaback Girl by Gwen or something slow like My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion?" she suggested to her.

" Yeah, it's no problem. I needed to come out for a few drinks with a friend. Thanks for inviting me," Lori nodded with a smile. She laughed " Oh no, I'm a watching kinda gal. I like to see how awful or good it gets without being the one participating. Are you?" she asked her.

"There's a ppol at this resort and the best way to beat jet lag is by doing something and staying active. Now, are you going to come join me in this pool or try to sleep?" @rededgerpstarterblog

Lorelai was relaxing in the lounging chair by the pool reading a book. She had her shades on to try to hide the fact that she was falling asleep. Once her friend came over and caught her, she jumped a bit before lowering her glasses. " Active? Baby the pool will only make me fall asleep harder. I don't think that's a great move," she chuckled. THen placed down her book and moved her glasses up on her head as a headband. " You know what on second thought, sure, " she smiled as she got up.

Lorelai raised her brow as she people watched from the window in the car “You ever seen a bunch of hot half nked Japanese men in 1 room ?” Lorelai asked her friend. Lori laughed " Yes, yes I am. Then I could possibly use my flashlight on my phone, that's in my purse. I could've sworn a second ago someone said they tripped over a purse," she said as she wondered about it. " Wait, who is that?" she asked with a bit of a chuckle.

Lori laughed " I have no clue. I was hoping you had better vision than me in the dark, just slightly better," she shook her head as she joked.

Lori laughed " It's Lorelai! " she shouted towards him. "Damn I was hoping whatever you tripped on was my purse back there," she shrugged.
