                                                 Backstory

Raised in Red Edge, California, she learned early that the law doesn’t protect everyone—only those who know how to use it.

New York hardened her. Long nights, ruthless firms, and zero patience for weakness turned her sharp, controlled, and unflinching. Now at Grant’s Law Firm, she’s known for taking the cases within the Family area. Some that seem impossible and some that needed a lot of work, but she wins them without theatrics. She doesn’t bluff, she doesn’t threaten—she dismantles. Calm, precise, and unsettlingly prepared.

Grant's Law Firm was just her start, but now she was ready to take on her own. Once she finishes her last case, her own firm would be open just in time and based in Red Edge.

NOW

Now she was back in Red Edge, and the familiarity pressed in on her from all sides. The streets remembered her. The houses stood like witnesses. Even the people looked at her a second too long, as if they knew exactly where she’d been—and why she’d left.

She said the case brought her home. A client who needed her. A month and a half before the final court date. That was the version she let circulate, the clean explanation that kept anyone from asking harder questions.

But Red Edge wasn’t fooled. It carried what she’d done in its quiet corners and dim-lit rooms, in the spaces no one talked about anymore. She’d left once believing distance could turn memory into something harmless. It hadn’t.

Staying felt less like a choice and more like a reckoning. If she left again, it would still be waiting. Here, at least, she could face it.

New York was temporary. Red Edge was permanent.

" Yeah, it's no problem. I needed to come out for a few drinks with a friend. Thanks for inviting me," Lori nodded with a smile. She laughed " Oh no, I'm a watching kinda gal. I like to see how awful or good it gets without being the one participating. Are you?" she asked her.

Lorelai was relaxing in the lounging chair by the pool reading a book. She had her shades on to try to hide the fact that she was falling asleep. Once her friend came over and caught her, she jumped a bit before lowering her glasses. " Active? Baby the pool will only make me fall asleep harder. I don't think that's a great move," she chuckled. THen placed down her book and moved her glasses up on her head as a headband. " You know what on second thought, sure, " she smiled as she got up.

Lorelai raised her brow as she people watched from the window in the car “You ever seen a bunch of hot half nked Japanese men in 1 room ?” Lorelai asked her friend. "Are you seriously asking if anyone has seen a purse? In a blackout?" Kennedy raised a brow, though she couldn't see the person who speak. "Please be serious right now."

Lori laughed " Yes, yes I am. Then I could possibly use my flashlight on my phone, that's in my purse. I could've sworn a second ago someone said they tripped over a purse," she said as she wondered about it. " Wait, who is that?" she asked with a bit of a chuckle.

"I can't see shit, so how can I see a purse?" Nicole asked with a laugh.

Lori laughed " I have no clue. I was hoping you had better vision than me in the dark, just slightly better," she shook her head as she joked.

"I don't even know who the fuck is talking to me so no, I have not seen a purse."

"it's Lorelai," Lori laughed. " Who am I talking to ?" she asked.

"I can't see anything and I have no fucking clue to who I'm talking to." He said with a laugh. "So, no, I have not seen your purse, I'm sorry."

Lori laughed " It's Lorelai! " she shouted towards him. "Damn I was hoping whatever you tripped on was my purse back there," she shrugged.

Lori couldn't help, but to laugh at her response " Well it was worth the ask, " she said to her. " Wait...who am I talking to again?" she asked her.

“ This is the creepiest event I’ve ever been to. I can’t really see, I’m already blind, and I keep tripping over god knows what,” Lori said to her friend. Then she looked around touching her body “ Wait, where’s my purse ? Has anyone seen my purse ?” She asked. @rededgerpstarterblog

Lori stopped for a second and laughed “ I am breathing. I’m just a perfectionist, who wants to get to eat the pasta and know that i did an excellent job,” she nodded . She sat down for a moment and watched ever before looking back at Elena “ how is yours coming along anyway?” She asked

"To be fair, you don't need to be a perfectionist right now. We're here to learn, not to be perfect." She said. "I think it's coming along alright. It looks edible."

“ I know. We are here to have fun and possibly get wine drunk. I need to relax, “ Lori nodded, agreeing with her. She looked over at Elena and pouted “ okay the fact that yours looks perfect doesn’t help at all,” she laughed

"Thank you, I take pride in it." He said with a smile as he looked her over and bit his bottom lip. She looked as beautiful as ever, but he still wore his wedding ring, as if taking it off would hurt Lana. "Where do you wanna go?"

Lori nodded " As you should. You did very well for yourself. I'm proud," she smiled. She took him in as he took her in and caught that he was still wearing his wedding ring. She could understand why because she had heard through the grapevine that his wife passed away. She wasn't sure of how long ago, but she respected it and had no problem with him wearing it.

" Hmm....maybe that old diner we use to go to? I really miss that good ole million dollar bacon and french toast for brunch. We could share a few bites and catch up abit there," she smiled at him, really looking forward to it.

"I asked if you needed any more ingredients of anything." Cam said with a chuckle. "You okay?"

" Yeah, probably the ingredients for being a pro at every given skill," Lori dropped the dough and exhaled. Then looked over at him " I freaking suck at this and my noodles look like ripped up pieces of straw that they use to feed cows," she pouted .

"I asked if you were going to drink some wine while we did this." She said with a smile. "Life is a lot more fun when you drink wine!"

Lori took a moment and sighed in relief " You know what? Your right, I should. I should just relax and drink some liquid courage," she nodded before drinking her wine.

"I asked if you were having fun." Serena said with a smile and took a sip of her wine. "This is so much fun, and was an incredible idea!"

Lori took a breath and nodded " Yes I am. I just...can't seem to get this noodle thing right," she shook her head. Then looked over at hers " Yours look great by the way," she nodded before taking a sip of her wine.

Lori took a moment and sighed as she gave up in the dough " Yes, yes I do apparently," she nodded and chuckled. " This isn't noodles,this is string cheese," she shook her head.

"You look like you could use a sip of wine." Tessa laughed and looked at her. "Drink some, it'll help you relax."

Lorelai looked at Tessa for a moment and laughed " Do I really look that tense?" she asked. She reached over and took a few sips of her wine.
