“Hmm? My clothes?” He had to say he was surprised this was what she’d come to see him about. He’d just been intending to buy whatever he found in the market. “I didn’t know you designed clothing. You must be very talented~”

He smiled then, bowing his head politely. “I would be honoured, Princess.”

       “oh yes, i enjoy it very much. i have very talented tailors and shoe-makers. now, come, come!” she shuffled gracefully to her feet, gently tapping fai’s arm to encourage him to do the same.

       “i must have your measurements taken first. do you like green? green would look spectacular for spring.” with a floral obi, perhaps a red one.

“now now, none of that, it’s in the past. thank you so much for volunteering to get some more!”

Fai couldn’t help but laugh remembering just how angry Kurogane used to get at the nicknames. “He certainly was very cranky. He used to shout and threaten me with violence every time I used a nickname~”

Oh, how things had changed. It felt like such a long time ago. “After a while he got used to it. Officially registering him as ‘Big Doggy’ in Outo caused quite a stir, though.”

       “oh my!”

big doggy! fai was wonderful. truly a gift not only to kurogane but to the universe. oh, how she wished she could have witnessed such a thing!

       “fai-san, would you allow me the pleasure of seeing to your wardrobe? i can have things specially made and you’ll look absolutely dazzling.” she asked, excitedly scooting closer and laying a hand onto his forearm.

Fai gave a respectful bow when she entered the room, keeping his etiquette in mind.

“Kuro-sama has been very helpful in making me feel at home~” he assured her. “You as well, Tomoyo-hime. I’m grateful to you both.”

He had received a few odd looks when venturing out, but Kurogane had loomed behind him intimidatingly and nothing more had come of it. It was to be expected, since he looked so very different.

the nicknames were so sweet!!

“kurogane must have made quite a grumpy face when you first met.” then again, he still makes very grumpy faces, but it was apparent that he’d grown used to such a thing. the kurogane she sent on his voyage would have drawn his sword at anyone addressing him as such.

Journeys could only last so long, and although it had hurt to say goodbye to Syaoran and Sakura, he was settling well into the new home he’d come to with Kurogane. The language was still a bit of trouble for him, but he’d been practicing for a while. Like spells, language came to the mage very easily.

He’d been sitting in his room, admiring the view of the gardens, when a voice sounded outside the doors.

“Not at all, Tomoyo-hime,” he replied happily. “Please, come in.”

after sliding the door closed behind her, she gracefully lowered herself down to her knees to sit next to him. fai’s japanese was very good for someone who had just arrived here, which led her to believe that he’d learned a little before coming here. his accent was quite charming too.

“i’m happy to see that you’re doing well here. it can be very hard accepting a new home.”

she wanted him to feel welcome. he stood out exceptionally well with his bright features, but that didn’t mean that he needed to feel like an outcast.

       “fai-san? would it trouble you if i were to see you for a moment?”

it’s been a few days since kurogane had returned home, better manners and more at peace than ever before. it was truly wonderful to see how far he’s come since the start of his journey and she knew that everyone had the ninja’s companions to thank for that. he achieved what he set out to do and he brought a guest home with him.

         ...or as she liked to think, his future spouse. tomoyo was already thinking about what a beautiful wedding she could host for them.

until then, fai needed some clothes worthy of his delicate frame and princely posture, so she needed his measurements.
