Kinda sad but not really surprised to see people cheering this on. Seems like it was an interesting piece exploring AI psychosis, which the artist said they’ve suffered from. Seeing people cheering on artwork and personal expression being destroyed sucks :/

Even if you despise AI art, a collection of 160 photos took work to put together and create. It’s not a single prompt kind of thing.

It's very sad that this artist suffered from AI Psychosis. He also then stole the artwork from countless other artists to make a comment about how he experienced and others might experience that psychosis.

It wasn't a single prompt, it was 160 photos worth of theft, and then arranging that theft into something to make a point about how the use of the stealing machine affected his ability to understand reality.

There are incredible layers of this story that I can be very empathetic about. At the end of the day, instead of developing art himself, he chose to willfully steal the art of others and use the guide of careful prompting to develop something that has the potential to encourage not only more theft, but also more cases of mental illness as more people use AI.

So yeah, I'm not going to feel bad his pictures got eaten. (Chewed up and spat out, really), because that's an actual bit of counter protest art that does not do immeasurable harm to the art community but does make a very brutal point on how AI art is treated. As the mastication and (r)ejection of art.
