Mario and Luigi are definitely still the focus of the movie, and have lots of really cool and funny moments together as brothers. One of the best parts is Luigi hyping up Mario to confess to Peach 🥺💕

Their new bestie Yoshi only adds to their dynamic, I'm so glad he took up Toad's spot lmaoooo

Not gonna lie... it does have some similar vibes as WIR2. Not nearly as ham-fisted with cramming as many cameos as they possibly can into the run time, though!

Like, the part that feels most similar tp WIR2 is when they go to the Star Gate Hub or whatever which connects everyone to all.the different galaxies and what not. That's where R.O.B and the Pikmin make their brief appearances, and where they meet Starfox. It is also where Daisy appears in the post credits scene

Besides the scenes at this hub, the Mario Galaxy movie gives itself the space (ha!) to actually tell its story and breathe instead of burying itself in references to a million other non-Mario related games

Honestly, I liked it more than the 1st one 👀
