think about these things when you’re making a fictional place; even a developed city has its roots in how easy it was to settle in the first place!
this site has additional info, diagrams, worksheets, and models, as well as information on things like coasts, volcanoes, and populations
look at real life sources for climates. Consider the way that your continent(s) lay in relation to their equator, and the weather and types of flora and fauna and peoples that adapted to it.
think about pangea. If you have multiple continents, do they fit together like a jigsaw?
when in doubt, look at the natural world around you and think about what would change if something was drastically different. Look at the reactions between parts of our world and change them.
play civilization games and think about the things that go into making decisions there
thinking ab the roy kids and the act of “killing”— none of them have the same relation to it but all of them have the ‘wrong’ one at least according to logan
kendall is not a killer (this is funny because he is also the only literal killer. laugh please) bc in no circumstances does it come naturally to him. if he pushes himself hard enough, sometimes he can. but it will never be instinctual for him, not the way it needs to be. his guilt sinks too deep and it eats him alive before, during, and after the kill, to the point where even if he manages to do it, it’s a hollow, pyrrhic victory at best.
roman is a circumstantial killer. he has no qualms about fucking over random people (no real people involved), and can ‘kill’ in situations where he isn’t emotionally invested just fine. he’s able to fuck over his siblings too — but only as long as it’s not the killing blow. he talks a big game but, for instance, wouldn’t sign shiv’s assassination letter to ken, even though it would only help him. he can screw them six ways to sunday but only as long as he knows they’ll still be there when the dust settles.
shiv is a killer, and she’s too much of one. shiv can deal the final blows to strangers (like convincing the woman not to testify about her assault) and people she knows (blackmailing gerri this episode), but those are mild for her. her big kills are reserved for the people she loves — kendall’s letter and now her indictment of roman are two glaring examples of that. while rome shies away from the kill when he’s emotionally invested, shiv has the opposite weakness: she loses all awareness and reasoning until she tastes blood. she goes for the kill too hard, and goes for the kill even when she maybe shouldn’t.
succession characters and whether or not they know what gay people are:
logan roy: doesn’t know what gay people are he thinks roman is just like that
kendall roy: dated stewy for three years in college and still doesn’t know what gay people are. he just thought they were really close friends the whole time. he went to a gay bar with shiv and roman once and just thought all the guys there were being really friendly
roman roy: is gay and knows what gay people are but does his best to suppress this knowledge every day of his life. he succeeds maybe 10% of the time
shiv roy: is gay and knows what gay people are. she used to tell roman which girls to bring as dates to family functions so she could try and seduce them
tom wamsgans: is faintly aware of the concept of gay people. everything he knows about it comes from that one friends subplot about ross’s lesbian ex-wife. doesn’t understand why he yearns for cousin greg
cousin greg: knows what gay people are and has given the occasional vague thought to the concept that he might be one but is too busy covering up corporate crimes to dwell on it too much. has lesbian aunts on the non-roy side of his family and babysits their cat when they go on holiday
connor roy: knows what gay people are and is casually homophobic. often complains about the media shoving the gay agenda down his throat. occasionally calls roman a pansy or other weird antiquated gay euphemisms while slapping him on the back and laughing too loudly. thinks shiv just pretends to be attracted to women for male attention

Finally settled on this design for a picnic blanket!
It’s a simple pale greenish yellow plaid woven blanket with folk-inspired embroidered sides, cotton lace trim, and scattered with fallen leaves on the edges.
