trying to play peekaboo with my child but he's a European diplomat:
me: where'd daddy go?
baby: we must articulate a post-daddy vision of strategic autonomy
me: peekaboo!
baby: my historic relationship with my father is stable despite recent troubles
“It’s easy to assume”: someone’s misconception is about to be amiably corrected
“It’s tempting to assume”: someone’s assumption is about to be criticized
“It’s comforting to assume”: someone’s assumption is going to be read for filth
observations that I don't know what to do with now that I am writing more, generally:
I feel like I can see improvement even between months in my recent writing which is both frustrating and nice. then I'm also like damn...could edit this one. hashtag let it go.
I will randomly rewatch something (or reread, or relisten to something...in the case of a fiction podcast) and realize I am obscurely ripping it off. This most recently happened with Grosse Pointe Blank, which is joke dense to a stupid degree and has John Cusack and Minnie Driver be rude at other people together in an extremely romantic way. It had been long enough that I barely remembered most of the movie, other than John Cusack Assassin and that I loved watching it, but I think I was epigenetically activated by the vibe.

I was amused by this rather “freaky” bit of Edwardiana, especially since I always got the feeling that Charles Dana Gibson, when drawing the Gibson Girl, was at least partially fantasizing about being stepped on or something.

one of the guys in the kitchen at work got called irritating and replied “I am not irritating. You just find me irritating. There are many people who love me.” I think we should all adopt his attitude
a lot of rpf can be explained by the fact that actors are all like that with each other constantly but i never want to say that on here because it feels like telling a 7-year-old santa isn’t real
actors hanging off of each other constantly isn’t a sign that they’re fucking it’s a sign that they were once in a BFA program and never relearned normal boundaries. when actors are fucking and it’s complicated they won’t even stand in the same room with each other.
