Tags to the contrary i didnt go to see if there are crocodiles in America, i know there are, i wasnt sure of the range. Just southernmost florida in the US, but there are a few species in central and south america. Crocodiles might be the better chouce for the job, by the by. Rather more agressive than alligators. You've got your American crocs, those are the ones you can find in the everglades, cuban crocs, orinoco crocs, another the name of which i have forgotten. They're all closely related taxonomically speaking. Now, american alligators have a wider range in the states, including apparenting the southeasternmost corner of oklahoma if the range map is correct. Which....man, would that fuck you up in the head if you weren't expecting to see one.

i went to the maritime museum in Halifax last year when i was visiting my mom....as an aside if you're in Halifax and you like boats check it out, it's a good one....and i bought myself a model Bluenose kit because building a model boat sounded like fun. I'm putting it together today, hindered a bit by the fact that Magoo the dog ate the instruction sheet. ( and thats why it's taken me 7 months to get to it). First step was painting it and oh , guys, gals and nonbinary pals i have done a lousy job but yknow what? It's okay because i don't care. I'm having fun, when i am done i will choose the side with paint that looks less shitty and put it facing that side out on the mantle, i've never done this before and i'm not terribly good at painting, it wasnt going to be perfect and that's not a problem so long as i enjoy the process.
I have a hardcover copy of When You Are Engulfed in Flames (or whatever the title is, i may be slightly wrong) by David Sedaris that belonged to my late father, and which my non biological mother sent up in a bankers box with others of his books and a pair of practically new bogs. Now, Dad loved David Sedaris, so it isnt that surprising to find a bookmark in, but the fact that it was marking an essay called "momento mori" is really on the fucking nose if you ask me.
As a bookmark he apparently used a card from a contest that Shoppers Drug Mart ran in 2011. Grand prize was a ford fiesta. He didn't win. I have no idea if this means he put it there in 2011 or that he had that card encouraging him to play again in his house or studio for 10 years. I can, however, tell you that i found a big wad of canadian tire money and assorted paper bric a brac in the top drawer of the bureau in my old bedroom year after he died, i think i might have seen a couple more of these there.

I have a few, depending on the situation.
1 - brown rice pineapple teriyaki chicken and tofu bowl from a Canadian chain called Edo Japan
2 - chicken with apples and maple syrup, served on top of mashed potatoes. This is a Mr. Cakes recipe and it's absolutely delicious.
3 - fresh challah bread smeared with tahini OR with honey.
okay, i need to clarify this, i sautee the chicken and apples with onions and spices, then add maple syrup and let it cook off so it's sweet/savoury and little smoky like caramel. its a process, done right there is a complexity of flavour there. Do not try to serve it with rice,,it has to be mashed potato. Eat a light lunch.
