Hey Tutti, I was wondering something. What do you think of fanfics, fanart, etc., where instead of using Juliana and reinterpreting her character, they preffer to use a female OC or avatar? Are there any you like? Do you have any recommendations for people who want to do this kind of thing but are afraid or embarrassed to publish it because of what others might say?

To each their own, tbh! If you wanna write your own story, go for it. If it’s your own idea, it’s respectful to the characters and source material, and you believe in it, go have fun with your idea and the people who enjoy your story will come.

For me it’s more about the quality of the storytelling. I prefer Juliana and Kieran, but if there is thought and care put into the character and world, that’s where an OC idea can truly shine.

@celestial-kyuk0n has a lovely OC fic going right now, and @demikempton has a brilliant series!

Will always and forever be surprised/awed/touched whenever people recommend my fics.

I know those kind of fics aren't for everyone but Tutti does make a great point of thought and care being put into an OC does make the fic what it is and making them feel like they belong in that world.

I've always been in the mindset of being cringe and free, honestly I know I'm my target audience for my fics but I appreciate when others enjoy it too. As long as you're happy with what you're writing just run wild with it.

Also to add recommendations, I'm behind but I agree, @celestial-kyuk0n 's fic is fab (even tho I'm behind), @polarbearauri also has a great OC fic, as does @candy--cloudss though the last two aren't Dipplinshipping but they're still good reads. 💖

Juliana is a silent protagonist #by nature you have to take liberties writing Juliana because there's so much empty space with her and other Pokemon protagonists #so imo it's not a crazy stretch to insert an OC in her place bc any author's version of Juliana is practically already an OC #i love the variety in the Julianas bc she's so open to interpretation #no two Julianas are the same and I think that's beautiful
