Between you and me, I have more respect for the girls who DON'T have a JFF. I think the fetish loses something when people start doing it for money instead of just the genuine love of it.

I respect them ALL.

The girlies that don’t want to have a JFF, be it by effort, circumstance or principal, are all completely valid!

The girlies that DO have a JFF, for money, convenience (tmblr hates us) or attention, are ALL VALID.

We’re all just people trying to get by and some of us are happy on tumblr, some of us are happy with JFF!!

If these girlies have the confidence to start and maintain a JFF and it works out for them, that’s extra income!! You do not have to sub if you don’t want to. Nobody’s forcing you!!

I think having and running a JFF plays little or no part in a persons content being genuine or their love for it. I think that content only ends up that way when a creator realizes that a healthy distance is necessary for their own mental well-being.

When a creator makes this sort of content and holds it so so close to their being, their person. When they’re so genuine and real with it… the words and actions of the community have a much more profound impact on the creator.

Generally in communities of this nature, creators learn fairly quickly that it’s healthier mentally to create a sort of distance.. a buffer.. between themself and their work or content.

Content creator are ALL valid and having a JFF shouldn’t define you inherently.

Understand that before content creators.. we’re all also just normal people.

this would be the equivalent of saying that if someone becomes a streamer on twitch, they are no longer a “real” gamer. it just makes no sense. and the palpability of misogyny in this opinion is wild. because you just know that’s a guy who wouldn’t give a single thought or opinion on wether any other male was or wasn’t “real” as an abdl if they made content. there’s also a very real sense of self-entitlement in this. as if anyone who shares this aspect of their lives, owes a complete stranger, an idea or experience that *they* deem as real, or genuine or something else, by their own arbitrary definition. it’s really crazy to me how many people in this world never even attempt to look past their own nose, yet think their opinion is worth putting out into the world. just wild. like you could have thought this over for a few seconds and maybe realised how ridiculous it is? also, if your “respect” is based on wether someone makes money from creating content, then you actually don’t respect them at all, and you should be honest about that. this ask comes across as very sinister, wrapped in a “thats just my opinion” bow.

Honestly a lot of good opinions on this post that i rhink can apply to just about anything and everything that can be done as a hobby or a job. And that includes making pixelart! Sometimes i find myself turning my nose up at prices but these kinds of words are what im doing my best to remember to get past my own biases. Thank you for putting it so clearly!
