I love that Noelle canonically played the âEvil Routeâ of Dragon Blazers even though it scared her and she felt bad about it. I love that Susie played the Evil Route by accident because she didnât consider that it was an option not to kill everything. I love that Kris purposely sacrificed copyright-neutral Yoshis when playing video games with Asriel as a kid. I love that Ramb thinks Kris would find Tennaâs version of the Chapter 3 boards to be boring and would prefer the original version where you can use violence to get stronger. I love that Rambâs assumption is implied to be correct. I love that Kris only flinches away from the screen in the Sword Route when they have to kill the sprites representing their friends. I love that you can control lilâ kris to hop out of the game and actually threaten real Kris and Susie with the sword, and that this freaks Kris the fuck out. I love that Asriel tried to pray for Kris over their Yoshi killing sins and that Father Alvin found it naive and ridiculous. To believe that your actions in a video game would say anything about your actual character. I love that Kris and Noelle and Susie and Catti and probably Berdly too would all play the Weird Route if they had access to Deltarune. I wish the fandom took all of this into more consideration when analyzing the meta-narrative that Deltarune is trying to tell instead of resorting to 2015 era âyouâre horrible for playing the Weird Routeâ rhetoric
I donât have any coworkers who I dislike but I definitely have coworkers who, when I hear them get closer to my general area, I just start quietly hoping that they go somewhere else because I am too damn busy to deal with whatever theyâre about to involve me in
Disney is doing crazy things in the japanese mobile game sphere rn
you may be familiar with disney twisted wonderland, the gacha game in which various disney villains are used as direct inspiration for handsome anime boys. well that game was so successful that disney is trying to do it again but this time they're just animeboyifying whatever
here's mickey, goofy, donald, and chip & dale. yeah they turned mickey & friends into anime boys. they're an idol unit or something. they're technically not anime boy versions of the source characters, they have different names. mickey's guy is "Neo Michel". not michael, michel, like he's french. chip & dale are "Ruska Moncrief" and "Ranka Monk", they have different last names, they're not brothers anymore so that they can be yaoibait instead, anyways this post isn't actually about these guys I'm just setting the stage for the actual humanizations I wanted to show you
They also did monsters inc. And. Well it's obvious from the designs who mike and sully are. but you will also notice. the blonde one on the left. with glasses. monsters inc is kind of famously about just the two guys so they didn't really have a lot of other non-villain characters to take anime boys inspiration from, I guess, so, well,
Yeah it's her. they made an anime boy version of the mean receptionist slug. her name is roz btw, as all of boygachagame twitter has become extremely aware of in the past 3 days as we speculated prior to the release of the full image who tf the third guy was. the anime boy's name is "noah slugger". at this point no parody of the types of things gacha games will make gijinkas of will ever be able to live up to what disney is officially spending their own real money on designing
does anyone else have parents who suck in objectively funny ways
drawing it made me realize this one might be a unique experience
im going through some bullshit someones homestuck fankid would experience
it's actually so crazy how much the simpsons would fucking suck if it didn't have any of the simpsons characters. just a bunch of shots of empty houses and streets for half an hour while nothing happens. that would be so badddd lol
yeah that tends to happen when you remove characters from media. without characters its all just background. i guess movies set in scenic locations would still land as kinda nature docs but even then
it only happens with the simpsons
this same criticism could be applied to nearly any media ever.
it's just the simpsons. are you a troll?
Dragon's right, if you remove all the Simpsons characters from Death Note it hardly changes anything
every day i am thankful to ancient humans for the domestication of the cat. fucking genius idea. agriculture was a good one too btw but you really outdid yourselves with the cat thing

So many things that are considered âtrashyâ are basically just people going âugh those other people have different priorities in life than I do and I canât understand it so Iâm just going to assume theyâre deficient in some sort of moral/emotional capacityâ
âUgh that guy has an expensive custom car even though he lives in a trailerâ He likes his car and is happy living in a trailer. Not everyone wants to live in a house. âUgh she always gets her hair and nails done professionally even though she has to take the bus everywhereâ Sheâs okay with taking the bus and is not eager to buy a car. That is perfectly normal and sheâs spending the money she saves on gas/insurance on something that makes her happy. âUgh I know that person makes good money but they still dress poorly and live in a bad part of townâ They are perfectly happy with their current neighbors and donât care about appearances. Like I know the common response to these types of criticisms is âblank costs significantly less than blank so itâs not a fair comparisonâ, which is completely true, but also plenty of people are completely happy in living situations that have been deemed âlow classâ and I think itâs also important to consider that not everyone has aspirations that align with stereotypical white collar ~American dream~ goals. And I think not only is it a symptom of classism, but also greatly contributes to classism to function under the assumption that a lot of completely normal things like living in a trailer/small apartment or riding the bus or wearing basic inexpensive clothing are all things everyone secretly hopes to âescapeâ. You just end up painting these things as being like inherently degrading and undesirable because you canât imagine anyone doing them unless they had no other choice or were just too stupid to budget properly.
If anything, I think itâs important to acknowledge that people can just as often be pushed into âupper classâ things out of necessity as they can be forced into the stuff thatâs viewed as trashy. A lot of people would rather not have to bother owning a car, but they donât live in places where public transport is decent enough to allow them to function without access to a car. A lot of people would prefer not to have to buy/wear nice clothes or get professional haircuts or maintain âclean cutâ styles of personal grooming, but theyâre expected to look highly professional and sharp for their job. A lot of people donât want to deal with maintaining a whole house, but thatâs the only way they can have pets or customize their living space to their desired degree or have any sort of outdoor space that they can utilize for certain hobbies.
There are a lot of people who are financially forced into situations where they live in ways that are looked down upon by society, but there are also a lot of people who are financially forced into situations that are viewed as accomplishments, and that deserves some attention as well because honestly that can be a very frustrating position to be in. I know people who basically have to dump their whole paycheck minus rent and basic necessities into car payments/gas/insurance for cars they donât even want because they needed a car for work/to function as an adult where they live, and everyone just acts like they achieved some great accomplishment in the world because they bought a âpracticalâ car. Iâve seen people actually get pushed into buying houses they can barely afford because even though theyâd rather just have an apartment, the rent in their area became so high that it ended up just making more sense to buy a low value house. But thatâs still viewed as a âstep up in the worldâ regardless of all other factors because owning a house is seen as a goal everyone is supposed to have. And I think we all know the story with going to college these days.
I donât think weâre really gonna get anywhere as a society until we stop equating the assumed economic viability of everything to its universal desirability and instead recognize that the real problem comes from creating a system where you have to be forced into significant long term lifestyle changes in order to maintain some semblance of economic stability. Both people who want to live in an efficiency apartment and ride the bus and people who want to live in a two story home with a driveway for their personal vehicle should have the opportunity to achieve these respective lifestyles without having to sacrifice their earning power, opportunities to partake in basic interests or their ability to afford basic needs and until we live in a system where everyone is given the ability to live the lifestyle that makes them the most comfortable without giving up a whole slew of other opportunities in life itâs always going to to difficult for people to understand why someone else would choose to do something widely viewed as being a punishment for not making the right choices. And until this type of system exists, a lot of people are going to have trouble understanding that they themselves are chronically unhappy because then were essentially forced into making the ârightâ choices because that was really the only way for them to maintain other desired aspects of their own lifestyle.
So many things that are considered âtrashyâ are basically just people going âugh those other people have different priorities in life than I do and I canât understand it so Iâm just going to assume theyâre deficient in some sort of moral/emotional capacityâ

My new favorite thing is whenever everyone is complaining about the quality of education in our schools I like to say âyeah I went to school here k through 12 and they never once taught me that one of our elementary schools was one of the first in the country to be desegregated after a historical legal battle won by a deaf attorney. I mean personally I would have liked to learn about thatâ because everyone gets really mad when they find out that a.) we didnât learn that and b.) most of them didnât even know that either and I think a very fun way to spread really cool historical information is by making people mad that they didnât know about it cause that encourages people to go find out more cool stuff no one ever bothered to tell them about
Last time I said that was in the office and I watched like three coworkers immediately go and read the Wikipedia page about it will getting increasingly mad that they never learned about it in school

I mean honestly I think anyone with sense knows that the hatred and exclusion of trans men from trans/general queer activism is just stupid poorly-disguised bigotry to begin with and I will not roll back on that stance, but also if you genuinely think that trans men are excluded from any societal transphobia youâre also completely oblivious. Like weâre just going to pretend that âwe need to protect these poor confused young women who are being groomed into mutilating their beautiful bodiesâ hasnât been a pretty prolific rhetoric in anti-trans groups for years? And no, Iâm not going to entertain any pedantic âUm actuallyâ arguments about how that somehow has nothing to do with hatred of trans men specifically because itâs ~actually~ misogyny, because regardless of where the attitude stems from it is still an attack directly and specifically towards trans men and everyone just loves to act like attitudes like that donât exist or somehow donât actually affect trans men in any way.
