Moody cat [Hanako]
His reaction to Hanako’s comment about cats caused the girl’s attention to shift from the animal in his lap to the male himself. Perhaps he was just as fond of cats as they were of him? Hanako hesitated for a moment before reaching forward and gently stroking the top of the cat’s head with her un-scarred hand, that way Kyo wouldn’t be disgusted by her. The cat purred loudly and the girl found herself smiling down at the feline, her anxiety slowly beginning to decrease.
What helped her anxiety was that Kyo seemed to be having the same problem she did. Or at least something similar to it. “I-I don’t like being surrounded by p-people, either… They always h-have questions for me a-as well…” Though, she didn’t bother telling him what the students would ask her. It was quite obvious, anyways, she knew.
Kyo’s next question caused Hanako to gently pull her hand away from the cat and lift up the book that had previously been sitting in her lap. “A-Ah, that’s r-right… I enjoy reading q-quite a lot…!” She showed the cover of the book to Kyo and then sat it beside her so that she could return to petting the cat. “D-Do you enjoy reading t-too?” They already seemed to have quite a few things to the other, so perhaps reading could be added to that list.
[Even if Kyo was quite aloof and was not good at socializing, he noticed how self-conscious Hanako was of her scars because she chose to show them the lest possible with every one of her actions. Even as she petted the cat, Kyo could only stare at the feline as he seemed to be content with a few caresses when she talked about her own circumstances.]
Tch, people always get me mad and they don’t care about others before their own selves.
[Kyo remarked a bit bitterly as he remembered the stares of those around him at his mom’s funeral. He had inherited the curse of the cat by chance, it wasn’t like he wished for it, so how was his fault that he had that ugly side of him that he didn’t wish for anyone to see either yet they looked at him as if he himself was to blame for merely existing.]
Well, I like reading from time to time. But I enjoy practicing martial arts more.
[Unknowingly, Kyo had mentioned a bit of his hobbies that he usually kept to himself but there was no one else around aside from her so it should be alright in any case.]
The girl slowly lowered her book, allowing it to rest in her lap once again as she cast a lingering glance at Kyo. Martial arts...? Well, he certainly seemed like the type to enjoy such a hobby. Hanako didn't quite participate in as many things as she'd have liked to, seeing as her disability got in the way of her enjoying things she normally would.
"Is that so...? It must be fun..." She murmured, slowly tearing her gaze away from Kyo. "Do you practice Martial Arts for fun? Or is there a reason behind it?" She questioned, quite curious to hear his answer.
