As if I didn't already have enough distractions, I went and bought endwalker against my better judgement, so wasted a month and a half on that since I got 2 free weeks login due to queue SAVAGE (thank you yoshi p). So good. Ugh. 5th area is a GIFT and broke me. BROKE.

Which is why this new old friend (🥲) is spooky as hell.

Had not even looked at ebay since getting my bargain Amy, but am having a meh time with life stuff, so off I went. He was listed as a doll leaves Leif but seller uncertain. I knew it wasn't, but couldn't 100% the sculpt I thought he was (Nozomi) due to not having a clear photo of his teeth.

Whelp, he's here, I have no idea how I won him on first bid. Don't have to 5000 angle him to match either, as the kanji in certificate is indeed Nozomi.

The spoopy bit without being spoilery - endwalker is heavily hope oriented. What does Nozomi mean?

Yeah, it was a Wallace/Wallis? Went for a couple of quid cheaper than Amy, which is weird as I think she's out of production now? Couldn't find her on alice collections. Just knew Amy was still going strong because I wanted one for the teeth anyway lol. The whole thing doesn't even feel like it's real.

The poor shop had both up as Wallis, so must have just copy-paste because that one was checked over first or something.

I thought my aod Wang zi was my best bargain at 70ish iirc, and with a tonne of nice clothes, but this one is just insane. That's my luck used up forever haha.

So even though I printed my own around shb release with the official square art, obviously, this was the true need ever since he was just standard g'raha.

But being in the UK, it's been very difficult justifying shipping and then whatever customs costs for him. Especially with cat claws around.

I completely randomly checked etsy, and the seller had b-grades at a hell of a lot cheaper AND the sides I would have chosen. I love og raha, but I am weak for mage and the hair clips. Yoink.

Shock, horror, Mirodoll wind wasn't my last. whoops. Absolutely would have been had I not found a bobobie Pandora on ebay. Almost skipped her since the seller had her titled as recast, but then I saw the yellow bag in the back of the thumbnail on a second scroll past and messaged during an offer that it was a bobobie not a recast. They ignored, but then relisted a lot later as bobobie, so, yoink.

Super in need of a really good scrubbing, but I think her face is actually fine. Just need to take out the squished lashes and hopefully clean around the rest. Lips are a bit jank with teeth white on them, so dunno if I'll scrub those and redo, or try to repaint over the white.

Good news - didn't lose my rebound job as a result of this lockdown (yet).

Bad news - working a bit more hours now with a second place to do ontop, so even less hobby time due to being paranoid about leaving the cats alone and bored for longer, so will be harassing them all 99% of free time. Literal permanent worst at this hobby😭🤣

Got the darkest American doll sized wig I could find, and it does have a little stretch, so fits-ish. Despite the sales pics being black, it's super dark brown. But that's what I was going for anyway since Laguna does actually have brown hair, not black.

Bad photos because flash is never a good idea, so bad lighting, but I was not moving him to a brighter light when the wig was such a fight to get on his giant head.

So, yeah, guess he's Laguna Loire copyright infringement now. I hate myself🤦‍♀️🤣

Oh man. Fullset! Well jelly! VIII was a completely random gift when I was 7 or 8 I think. Ma didn't know what it was, and probably saw it in whatever shop's new section. And I certainly didn't fully complete it until years later (always borked the skill reclaim at ultimecia castle. I was stupid and smol XD), so didn't even know there was merch and stuff back then and missed out. I do now have the OG Laguna and Irvine, Squall as playarts, and a multitude of VII playarts because teen lucky enough to have disposable cash at their release time. Sadly mega crammed together into tiny shelves to keep cat safe now haha.

I was nineteen and my flatmate was playing it - I started watching and I remember he even replayed the scene on the basketball court so I could see it. We stayed up all night to finish the game - we had the strategy guide so we should have known how long it would take! That game (okay, and Bust a Move!) was the reason I got a PS1 and FFX was the reason I got a PS2. I bought my friend's Xbox so I could play FFXIII but I hate the battle system and I haven't got far. I planned to get a PSP so I could play the FF games in that format, even picked up a strat guide for a game I don't own, but never got round to it. At the time of playing FF8 originally I lived in walking distance of a cool comic book shop which is where I snagged the figures and a plush Tonberry, chocobo and Moogle. I had just got into slash fiction and I think I probably shipped everyone in that game with everyone else, plus a few crossovers with FF7! I never finished Kingdom Hearts but I did spend a lot of time stalking Leon and hanging around Halloween town in case the rumours of a secret Vincent there were true.

I haven't had a pet to name but a few of my Sims have has FF names - in my current game there's a Seifer Belmont! None of my dolls are FF styled but I did make a lazy Tonberry costume that gets brought out at Halloween which I can't find a picture of rn.

I fairly recently replayed the end of FF8 for a friend who preferred 7 and had never finished it. He just didn't get the junction system, was missing a GFs so I didn't a while on the islands closest to heaven and hell drawing magic so we could beat Ultimecia. And I just remember I recorded the end of the game on VHS for another friend because this was pre-Youtube! I think I'd forgotten what a major obsession these games were until you gave me the slightest nudge and suddenly it's all spilling out! Now excuse me, I'm gonna go listen to Liberi Fatali...!

I was solo most of my childhood, even when not, they weren't as interested (read:fixated) in what I was, so no cool experiences in that regard, but goddamn I feel this passion.

Boycotted new Square except dragon quest and original dissidia for years after XII iirc. Did finish it, and have replayed it as the zodiac version, so now appreciate it a lot better being older. Especially after eventually playing the XIII trilogy super late (although not the final one to completion. The timer is an awful mechanic. Zelda, ok. Massive jrpg, no.), and getting roped into pre-ordering the absolute travesty that is XV.

I'm in FF for the characterisation. XIII had very little outside of tropes and XV had zero heart.

PSP days were grand. Crisis core is hands down one of the best damn things ever. Also managed to experience I (aka time to get lost) and IV on there, along with III on the DS. Played VI for the first time a few years ago too. They used to make them so GOOD. What the hell happened =( Can't even blame nostalgia for thinking that because I didn't play the older ones until waaaay outside of what would have been the nostalgic age.

I remember discovering final fantasy sim skins and losing my mind. But I never got a decent enough pc.

I didn't experience kingdom hearts properly either. Started on chain of memories for DS (again, a random gift), played 2 before 1 etc. Birth by sleep and days were the best for me. The maximum salt? Vincent was planned to be in the series. That's why Cloud looks so much like him. Rude as hell. At least we got Auron. Love me my goofy and/or tragic bastards.

Balthier had an accident and glue never worked. Big Auron is in his box ontop of the shelf. All looking super manky as I don't like drawing attention to that area because the cats will remember they are there and commence thieving mode. They forget sometimes 🤣

I think 4 and 5 are as low as I got with FF but I did really love them - and yeah the story was good enough I grew to deeply care about what were essentially Lego characters on the screen. 6 I never finished - I was enjoying it but after a long break I could not figure out where I was. Constant random battles meant getting anywhere took forever and it was not even guaranteed to be the right direction. Think I restarted but didn't get far - may have been part of the long tradition of not finishing games XP Lost Odyssey I got close to finishing but got trapped in a dungeon that was too hard. I think I did find my way out eventually but was too exhausted to continue and then didn't. Fable 2 I completed but Fable 3 I worked hard to gain enough wealth to save everyone from the Nothing and then my save corrupted. I finished with my niece's save but she was too impatient so we were walking round town with bodies everywhere. DragonQuest I've only played one on PS2 and I can't remember the title. Angelo, Yangus and Jessica. Haven't finished the one on the DS, or Revenant Wings. Weirdly I never got FF9 - have considered seeing if it will run on my laptop for completion sake as the game itself is rare now but as I still have Trails in the Sky to finish...! Sims 2 killed my old laptop and Sims 3 is probably killing my current one. Don't think I saw the FF skins tho. Did randomly find a website once with an artificial voice that told me the correct pronunciations - fun thing about meeting someone irl who'd played the earlier games was that they'd be taking about "Seefer" and "galBadia" while you know them as "Syfer' and "galbaydia" - tho that wasn't as weird as something I stumbled on online that referred to "keystus" - guess they meant "kwistis" aka Quistis. At least this wouldn't be an issue in X although it's still choko-bo to me, not choke-obo - until a behind the scenes thing called Tidus "teedus". No. Tide-us. Tide? Come on!

You can't tell but behind Vincent and Turk Vincent (my first ever eBay purchase!) Is a Knights of Round figure. I have Cloud and Sephiroth in that size somewhere too. And I have a bag with a load of FFX figures on in a very much worse for wear state.

Poor Balthier! Although my Cloud has a broken leg - peg must have got painted so when I tried to pose it it snapped. Told myself it was an excuse to replace him with the version with the bike but I never had the funds or the space.

Especially as yes, they only seem to be getting more expensive. Think I missed the window to get Balthier a Fran at a reasonable price. And yes, I love my figures but they do just collect dust. At least my bjds get an outfit change every so often! I was thinking they should cosplay! I made a tiny Bratz version of Irvine once - my friend made a Zell and I'll admit I felt frankly betrayed when she sold him! I quite often think of my Impldoll Ziv as like Zell - short but surprisingly buff. And he looks dumb enough to realise "my fists are my weapons, baby" an hour after being captured!

VI is good! But I did have the today's benefit of looking up anything online if needed. Terra is a cinnamon roll, and all characters had their own story which made it great. The version I played had the dodgy translations though, and was mad. Tonberries were called pugs🤣

I know I've missed out a good one with lost odyssey. Fable too. But I never had an xbox, and certainly am not getting one now, as my current backlog is insane. Not joking when I say I'm probably set for life haha (Shin megami tensei and monster hunter are the WORST time consumers alone, nevermind all of the others to get through. Discovered Yakuza 0 last year too. Immediately had to buy all of the main series apart from the newest. Ugh). Also why I won't get myself a decent pc. The possibilities with that would NEVER end.

DQVIII was the ps2 one. Took a loooong time for us to get anymore localised. XI scratched the proper turn-based jrpg itch really well. Too well really. Thing was over 100 hours 😂

FFIX is smashing too, but grim. They all have undertones of it (X, entire plot more like), but IX gets grim FAST.

That's another reason I won't get a pc. I know I'd fry it trying to run something it can't. Don't remember where I saw the skins. Probably custom jobs?
