This is a Chief of War propaganda post, especially for my friends who loved Black Sails. Here are some reasons why I think you'd enjoy this show, in no particular order.

1. 18th century Hawaiian history that is so respectfully done that they actually speak in the native Hawaiian language, ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi.

2. Jason Momoa's Ass

3. Badass ladies who are gorgeous and have their own narrative plot lines

4. There's at least one queer couple who are not dead yet!

5. White colonialism actually presented as the nauseating scourge that it is

6. Jason Momoa nakedly wrestles a shark

7. This show has breathtaking cinematography and epic music by Hans Zimmer who clearly put his entire pussy into this soundtrack

8. A show about Hawaii made by actual Hawaiians/Polynesian artists

9. It's absolutely riveting and the characters are complex, as well as hot

10. For those who hated the way Max's sexual assault was handled in Black Sails, the way sexual assault is handled here is basically the opposite of that. You see nothing but the way it's all shot is absolutely haunting and devastating. And the act has critical relevance to the historical and personal plot, not just used for some kind of shock value like Game of Thrones used to do all the time.

11. You can just feel the care, love, and respect that the production put into this show in every single detail. It's far surpassed my expectations in every regard.

Not abandoned! (If I ever abandon any of my fics I’d make an announcement on here and twitter). I just currently do not have *any* free time because I am working constantly, and I work very long hours. So, unfortunately, my fics have gotten pushed to the wayside. I wish I had a better update for you—sorry!
