The replicator must have a cost of running/ materials too. Every machine does. It's basically a futuristic 3D printer. That thing doesn't run for free.

What if Gideon was the one to draw up the budget? I can't really imagine any of the Legends sitting there and balancing the checkbook.

It’s honestly the only possibility in the insanity that is this budget subplot that makes sense.

I love the idea of Gideon quietly embezzling tax payer dollars in order to set up retirement funds for all of the legends, and college funds for little Ronnie and Martina. She hates the American government so much that nothing gives her more joy than submitting spreadsheets to Ava knowing full well that they don’t need money.
