A message for myself and whoever is listening:

Please, please love yourself. You deserve to be loved by yourself and by others, but you’re all you have in this skin of yours. 

And if you don’t believe it just yet, “lie” to yourself and say you love yourself. Tell yourself you deserve to be loved by yourself instead of saying “I must love myself.” 

It’s kind of hard to fight a battle if you don’t even think the battle is worth your fighting. So at least tell yourself it is, and maybe somewhere on the bloody battleground you will find that purpose within yourself. Telling yourself you deserve to fight the fight, that you deserve to try for your own sake, not for others’ sake...it might be just what you need to push yourself into successful recovery.
