i agree with your post about how limited sizes in clothing department stores are. however, you fail to acknowledge that it goes both ways; for me in the uk, I’ve rarely ever found clothes in the “petite” section that go anywhere below a UK 6 (US 8) and the only place I can find size 2 UK clothes is on a handful of websites. similarly to how you don’t want to wear ugly or overpriced clothes your size, thin people also don’t want to wear children’s clothes or have to safety pin everything ?¿
You have the option of wearing children’s clothes tho, you have the option to safety pin or alter a garment to fit you
Fat people have neither of those options accessing clothes. Fat people literally cannot find clothes that cover their bodies. Fat people have to wear the same t-shirt they found 5 years ago that somewhat fits them until it’s falling apart, or go naked.
It’s not the same.
I live in the UK. I’m fat.
If you want clothes over size 22-24 you usually have to get them online from a special website. Not to mention that sizes seem to vary wildly between stores, I’ve fit into size 20 dresses from one place, but struggled with a size 30 from another. You can get skinny people clothes pretty cheap from like, any site that sells clothes basically???
Oh, and I’ve recently stepped into the terrifying world of men’s clothing. I wanted a suit for a party later this month and I had to get one specially tailored.
Also its way easier to alter clothes that are too big than clothes that are too small. And like... I’m not great at following fashion admittedly, I just wear whatever garbage I like, but isn’t oversized clothing a fashion thing?
But uhh sure I’m sure your skinny ass has it just as bad lmao
