Cohabitation

Sebastian carefully watched as Hunter set his book aside. He knew from that one action alone that the tone of the conversation was about to change. He sat up a little straighter on the bed, as the cat finally moved away from him, wandering closer to Hunter. Small mercies, he thought. “It came up in conversation is all.” He said, as he shrugged his shoulders, shaking his head. “But I can try to remember that you’re a Ken doll with no sex drive going forward if you insist.”
“I’d prove it but you’re already here so… unfortunately, I don’t think I can.” He argued. “Look, before you showed up, I was used to rooming by myself. We paid extra for it too. Yet they forced us to be roommates… I think they assume we’re going to get along or something.” He said as he finally stood up. “But that’s clearly not been the case. You’ve got a major stick up your butt, Clarington.”
His defense was up high, his walls built carefully so that he wouldn't let people in. He didn't need people to get close to him, he didn't need people caring about him. He was used to moving, to having to say goodbye before he was ready. And he promised himself that he wasn't going to let that happen this time. The world was cruel, and the only way to not get hurt is to hurt others before you get hurt. "You're right, you can't."
"Get over it, you wouldn't have lasted a day in Colorado." He kept his tone even, despite the fact that he was getting more and more irritated with each passing second. "And you have no discipline."
