I made this painting a couple days ago as a practice warm up in my sketchbook. I am so happy with it. Not necessarily because of how it came out, but because of how much fun I had making it.

The colors look better in person, might scan it to get a better quality image later. Sketched with a purple pen, and painted over with acrylics.

i have FINALLY finished this thing!! holy crap thank you to everyone who has been following and for the incredible, enthusiastic comments that have been feeding my ego!

this wasn't honestly supposed to go beyond the first part but the muse asks for no opinion when she takes a mallet to your head i guess,,

since ive personally always been a fan of people showing sketches with their work heres some stuff from my process:

these are as i affectionately call them my insane person notes, frantically scribbled down and barely legible to even me

Aspen- bravery, facing the unknown

Mangrove- strength, support

Oak- longevity, strength, robustness

Red carnation- i love you forever

Grapes- rebirth

Maple- strength, resilience

Ginkgo- resilience, longevity, duality, peace)

Pineberry quilt, 60" x 68", pattern by Pen and Paper Quilting

My favorite!!! I finished this at the end of the summer last year but never posted bc i put it up for display as soon as it was done. This is definitely the most complicated block I'd done up to then, and sat on this pattern and cherry-picked solids for about a year before feeling confident enough to start (in the end, there's still one stinker block I didn't place properly orz) I'm really happy with the free motion too! All came together really lovely, wip under cut!
