#TBD.#that is ... a very accurate image of how cara fights. is she a skilled marksman? yes; but she is also very fond of any sharp objects while #in battle and that is mostly because blasters are loud and obvious; whereas vibroblades are easy to use and can be hidden easily.#but in any kind of physical battle? there is always a blaster and a vibroblade in her hands.#i'll have to write a meta about her fighting style but ... yeah. this is part of it.

cara culture is shaping an entire city after the principles of her homeworld and then leaving as soon as it starts to flourish

#TBD.#nevarro city is basically a miniature alderaan by the time we see it again in the second season.#underground criminality is still a concern [although cara personally handles that] but the society is far more prosperous and peaceful than #it had been throughout the first season. there are marketplaces filled with food and newly built homes.#there is a school where children can go without needing to pay; a place where children can learn about their planet but also the galaxy #itself. we didn't see it on screen but there are medbays that make healthcare accessible to everyone.#when we last see it; nevarro is well on its way to become an important trade point in the outer rim.#cara stays around as marshal long enough to see that the planet is completely clean and that all threats are eliminated before she #quits her position as marshal and begins taking jobs off-world to eliminate imperial bases.#the whole bit where cara joins the new republic never sat well with me because it goes against everything she stands for so i'm rewriting #that bit.

#TBD.#the comics give such a nuanced view on how the exiled alderaanians survived after the genocide and yet they are often so ignored.#i suppose the films and tied-in shows are also to blame because they never put too much focus on the destruction of an entire planet and the #repercussions it had on the survivors. i haven't had the chance to read the legends but i know new alderaan makes an appearance there.#[but again; from what i've seen it is used more as a prop to start more wars rather then a focus-point to explore how alderaanians dealt #with the destruction of alderaan.]#i'll write a meta on this later because there's no way i can do this in tags but carasynthia never got the chance to mourn before she became #a target for the empire and its puppets. she had to put survival before grief and that took a great toll on her.#she never had the chance to visit the graveyard; never had the chance to perform the returning.#she had to shed everything that connected her to alderaan if she wanted to survive.#[and that includes the infamous alderaanian braids which carasynthia did wear before the genocide.]#and as another parenthesis: the braids that she once again has taken up to wearing after settling down in nevarro city.#but back to the main point: the fact that she was hunted down by imperials after alderaan's destruction developed her tendency to not trust #people and to not open up to them. it takes a lot of trust for her to even bring up that she originates from alderaan; even after the empire #people and to not open up to them. it takes a lot of trust for her to even bring up that she originates from alderaan; even after the fall #of the empire. it takes a lot of trust for her to open up about her past in general.#the only thing people know about her [if she doesn't actively try to hide it] it's that she is an ex-rebel shock trooper.#other than that; no details about her family or the friends that she lost.#no details about her work as a mercenary after she left the republic behind but also? the mercenary work that she did before joining the #alliance because she had to survive and mercenary work is always a safe bet.#low profile enough for a hunted person to operate in; as well as an insurance that she could make enough credits to be able to travel from #planet to planet so that the imperials could lose her track.#[her journey on the run also serves as roots to her distrust toward the new republic as well but that is another story.]#this whole post derailed so much from the main point but talking about non-sense is what i do best.

i know canon has a different perception but since canon has lost its rights over cara i get to make the rules, and the rules are that cara did not survive all those years as a shock trooper, rebel and later, fugitive from the republic, with pure luck. she survived because surviving is what she is the best at. she is a chameleon and a ghost at the same time. she can slip into any role without hesitation. she can pretend to be anyone, at any given time, with little to no preparation. at the same time, she also excels at being invisible, which is something that saved her life dozens of times when she was a trooper.

#TBT.#HC.#or should i write this down as an analysis because there are hints of this in canon as well.#it's just that [clearly] canon did not develop this and did not give cara the depth that she is capable of reaching and weirdly enough;#that is fine with me because i much prefer living in my own bubble where cara is not being portrayed by g*na.#[that was an unnecessarily parenthesis but when have i ever been coherent?]#point is; cara is an extremely skilled warrior and a just as skilled spy and survivor.#she does not prefer spy-work but that does not mean that she was never undercover.#she took down plenty of ex-imperials through undercover work back in her trooper days.#[she absolutely hates it; undercover work requires you to at least act like you care for the cause and cara can't look an imperial officer #in the eye without wanting to slash his throat but that doesn't mean that she didn't partake in it.]#point is; she is smart and a great tactician and she is brave to a fault.#i suppose a fan-favorite perception is that cara is easily angered / impulsive and that couldn't be further from the truth.#cara doesn't act on impulse; if she did then she would have been killed a long time ago.#[contrary to popular belief; cara will only take impulsive decisions when it comes to two people and that is because she will not put her #own safety / life before theirs.] other than that; her actions are more calculated than one would expect.#as for the concept of her being a ghost; i'll expand this further at some point but you only see cara because she wants to be seen or #she feels safe enough for her to be seen. after leaving the new republic behind; cara survived by keeping a low profile and only taking #mercenary jobs that allowed her to maintain her anonymity. she only shows off when she wants to.#otherwise you would not be able to notice her presence.#do not reblog /#that tag is only here in case this posts shows up [in some cursed way] in the tags or something.
