Finished this leather mask for the Labyrinth Ball - as always, if you'd like to commission one of your own, get in touch!
Inspired by the Briarwoods from Critical Role. Commissions available, if anyone's interested!
Finished a quick set of commissioned thank you cards, so that's the end of the traditional commission queue - time to go find more to do!
Finished Pelican scroll based on a 1490s Florentine piece from the Trapezuntius Rhetoricorum.
Finished County scroll with knotwork based on the Book of Kells and Book of Durrow, with the sword/scabbard based on Sutton Hoo finds.
WIP joint Count/Countess scrolls - the knotwork's mostly derived from Book of Kells and Book of Durrow, with the sword based on Sutton Hoo finds.
I am very tired. The end of this year could probably suck more, but I don't want to find out.
If I ever share anything that was AI generated it is purely by accident. I hate that it's getting harder and harder to tell and it makes me want to never use the internet again. It definitely had its faults, but man I miss the internet of the 2000s so much.
Adding to this: please TELL ME if I share something that is genAI and you know it is. I want to know this information.
Finished this one! If anyone would like to commission their own illustration, please get in touch. :)
Getting back into digital art. I missed you, layers and control Z!
Finished Harp Argent. I thought it would be a fun challenge to try doing tiny likenesses - the faces on the bottom of the S are about the width of my pinky nail.
Original historical source: Don Silvestro dei Gherarducci's Gradual 2 for San Michele a Murano, 1399 (which is 22 inches tall!)
Finished Corde de Guerre!
Current WIPs - had to pause the top one while I wait (and wait) for confirmation on the heraldic wording for the calligraphy; hopefully I can get that soon. Harp Argent for Landsknecht costuming on top, Corde de Guerre on the bottom.
Commissioned white vine piece for a White Scarf - my favorite bit was the dagger (his household has a red heart as their badge, so it was fun to design it into the sail.)
Finished! Based on a combination of the Horae ad usum Briocensem, for the blend of bar and ivy with flowers, a capital from a French book of hours from 1400, and more realistic Disney Robin Hood animals, by request of the commissioner.
As ever, if you would like to commission a calligraphed/illuminated piece of your own, please get in touch!
Currently on the table - WIP Order of the Mark scroll for one of our three premieres, who wanted a storybook/Disney kind of feel.
