Some time ago I got a leaflet through the door announcing that the Earth is flat and that, for reasons as yet undefined, I was being lied to. I laughed. Then died a little inside.
Just a few days later I happened to find myself passing the office of those responsible for the leaflet, and couldn't resist going in for a wee chat. Instead of asking obvious questions like "were you dropped on your head as a child?" or "what's your favourite hallucinogenic?" I must have asked really tough questions because they seemed completely incapable of answering them. For example: "Why has no-one been to the edge and taken a picture?". Unfortunately my first questions was "Can I film this conversation?" which received a big fat "no".
Anyway, turns out a couple of folk were in Portree (Isle of Skye, Scotland) today with the same nonsense ("....the earth is flat ......no such thing as gravity ....the Queen is a psychic space-lizard from Mallaig" etc etc) which reminded me to get this silly wee doodle finished. Depressingly, all the "arguments" used here are either direct quotes from their literature or from that conversation.
