Because if there is one thing he knows, it's that he isn't about to let anyone harm Karen Page. As the threat to Karen's safety grows, they both struggle with their unspoken feelings for each other which get harder to ignore. And maybe, they don't actually want to ignore them anymore.

During a record-breaking heatwave, Matt and Karen have no choice but to confront the sexual attraction they still feel towards each other when things come to a head at the office. They come up with an agreement, one night to get it out of their systems and then back to normal. Except just one night isn't what either of them wants and admitting that might just break their newly built friendship.

Dedicating this one to all my Karedevil lovers! I felt like Matt and Karen needed a little more fun times (with a dash of my trademark angst and emotional baggage).

When she shows up one night bleeding and hurt, Matt Murdock resurrects himself from the grave to keep her safe.

Karen Page is falling apart and pretending she’s fine. One unexpected night brings Matt back to her and forces her to confront a lot of long buried feelings that have been resurrected with him. Can her and Matt finally be honest with each other and themselves or will the threat of Fisk destroy any hope for Nelson, Murdock and Page?

Karen knows what she wants. She's just not ready to want it yet — not when things are finally this good, not when there's this much to lose. She's very reasonable about all of it. She drinks a lot of water she doesn't need.

Matt, who can hear her heartbeat from across the office, is not fooled.

The disorientation dogged her every waking moment, curdling her blood, freezing her joints, threatening to drown her in remembered helplessness. She crept into Matt’s room at the hospital, expecting and dreading to find him writhing in the grip of nightmares and inescapable pain. Instead, she inevitably discovered him awake, alert and frustrated by the hospital’s (and Foggy’s) stubborn rebuttals of all his arguments for setting him free.

Matt vehemently disagreed with their assessment that losing three pints of blood and having over a hundred stitches in him warranted a stay any longer than 24 hours.

He wasn’t refusing the painkillers though. That alone told Karen that he was in severe enough pain to support the hospital’s stance. Pain which she was responsible for.
