Hello everyone! Returning here, because I do feel like it could be a solution to my little issue. I’m trying something I’ve never done before:

I’ve truthfully had a difficult time finding the necessary money to pay for my university books and overall expanses for my biological sciences degree, on top of not having been able to find a job this summer at all, and I thought perhaps some of you who enjoyed my writing would like to receive a piece from me for a little donation. i got the idea from @leviiackrman's posts and i was in the mood for some easy writing so. yeah. my boy. just. imagine somebody doing an article on the local studio employees.

DOUGLAS: “Nice meeting you! Why are we doing this again?”

INTERVIEWER: “I’m supposed to speak to some employees—”

DOUGLAS: “C’mon, slip me a five—”

(he enthusiastically shakes hands with the interviewer)

DOUGLAS: “You’ll have to forgive me for being late, my oldest spilled juice all over my last good pair of trousers and— Well. How are ya? What’s your name?”

INTERVIEWER: “Not a problem, we’re not in a hurry. It’s, uh, James. Nice to meet you.”

DOUGLAS: “James! My good pal’s name is also James. I call him Jimmy.”

Name?

DOUGLAS: “Right. Douglas Avery. Or Douglas J. Avery, it sounds fancy. You can call me Doug, though, because we’re gonna be friends, aren’t we?”

JAMES: “What’s the J. stand for?”

DOUGLAS: “Jonathan. It was my old man’s name, I think.”

JAMES: “Are you not sure?”

DOUGLAS: (hesitates) “Can I call you Jimmy?”

JAMES: “Uh, of course.”

Are you single?

DOUGLAS: “Oh, boy.” (big goofy smile that will appear whenever he mentions his wife) “No, no, I’m married. Look. This is Cathy. She’s a knockout, isn’t she?”

(he hands the interviewer a picture of cathy that he keeps in his wallet)

JIMMY: “She’s lovely.”

DOUGLAS: “Hey there, watch it, I said we were gonna be friends.” (he snickers at his own joke because of course he does.) “Yeah, Cathy. I love her. Married for four years now. Me! With her!”

Are you happy?

DOUGLAS: “Yeah! I had a good day. And you?”

JIMMY: “We don’t have to— It’s an interview, Mr. Avery.”

DOUGLAS: “Doug.”

JIMMY: “Excuse me?”

DOUGLAS: “I told you, call me Doug!”

(silence)

DOUGLAS: “I’m distracting you.”

JIMMY: “Yeah.”

DOUGLAS: “Apologies.”

JIMMY: (chuckles) “Let’s continue.”

Are you angry?

DOUGLAS: “Now, I don’t get angry that much. I used to take lots of beatings, but that’s just how boys are, right? I will say, the spilled juice had me peeved. But who is there to get angry at, my Flora? Come on…” (he trails off) “Oh, do you wanna see a picture? “

JIMMY: “Of Flora?”

DOUGLAS: “Yeah!” (he rummages in his wallet again) “Here. Spitting image of her mother, right? And these are the twins. Just shy of one year old now. They’re a handful.”

JIMMY: (laughs) “I gather they get that from you.”

DOUGLAS: “You got me, Jimmy!”

Are your parents still married?

(Douglas frowns and takes unusually long to answer)

DOUGLAS: “Yeah. Well, no, not really. My stepfather— You know what? Can we move on?”

JIMMY: “Everything alright?”

DOUGLAS: “It’s not interesting.”

Birth place?

DOUGLAS: “Bakersfield. You know it, right? Boring place. Everyone is very serious there. All work. They get worked up over the oil and the railroad. And before that was the fire. I don’t know.”

JIMMY: “I remember reading about that. 1889?”

DOUGLAS: “I’ll take your word for it. I wasn’t there.” (he laughs nervously)

Hair color?

DOUGLAS: “Brown? There’s some orange in there. Cathy says it’s chestnut. Let’s go with that.”

JIMMY: “What about—?”

DOUGLAS: “I used to be in a class with this ginger-haired boy — and he always stuck his boogers on the bench next to me.”

(silence)

JIMMY: “So?”

DOUGLAS: “Nothing. It comes to mind.”

DOUGLAS: “Brown. No doubt about that.”

(silence again)

DOUGLAS: “What?”

JIMMY: “No story?”

(Douglas laughs and gives Jimmy a pat on the shoulder)

DOUGLAS: “August 11th. Did you know the weather is always good on my birthday?”

JIMMY: “We live in California, Doug.”

DOUGLAS: (smiles wide) “I know. But still, it’s nice.”

JIMMY: “You’re not an ill-tempered guy, huh?”

DOUGLAS: “You can say that. Hey, would you be feeling sad if your wife had bean stew ready on the stove?”

JIMMY: “Bean stew?”

DOUGLAS: “Nobody makes it like Cathy does. You should try it. She would love to give you the recipe. Are you married?”

JIMMY: “No. Doug—”

DOUGLAS: “Yeah, yeah. Go on.”

DOUGLAS: “I’m as manly as they come!” (laughs at his own joke. again.)

DOUGLAS: “Nothing, truly! Well, I— Maybe I insulted him. But he deserved it. His father, the director? Just as bad. I need you to know that, just in case you gotta work for them, or something.”

5 Random OC Facts!

I was tagged by the wonderful @leviiackrman and @crownrots, thank you! 💜 and I'm so late to this 🫣

1: Born on Ingris to some very loving parents'. Both of them were normal soldiers fighting against the Vulgus. One day, they were given a mission to take out a Vulgus factory- the descendant Ajax was going with them. However that was the day she lost her parents' and Ajax became her guardian. 2: One of her best friends was captured by the vulgus, who ended up cloning her and torturing her. But once they finally got her back, Nova couldn't have been happier. Now they go destroy vulgus stuff together (Bunny too). 3: Her arche showed up at the most un-opportune moment and she was very lucky she didn't hurt anyone. She was just a normal teenager and next thing she knows she 'blows' up because she held in so much electric energy in her body. 4: She became a very strong descendant, but her 'blowing up' ability screws up her body. Which sucked because it's her most powerful attack. Now, back at HQ they made something to help her with it. So she can use it more often. 5: It wasn't long after her arche showed up she became a descendant, going on missions mostly with Ajax until he was comfortable enough for her to go on alone or with other descendants.

Been working on a little something something of art practice

Here, have a little doodle of (thus far) two of my characters, Joaquin Cobalt (on the left) and Silva Omar (on the right); the protagonists of The UnTitledverse series and the Silva's Hope trilogy in The Silver Chronicles respectively:

Joaquin is way younger than he looks and Silva somehow has a rare moment of positivity in her life. Tries drawing her scars but I'm also like inexperienced in how those worked even with references.

And dear gods are hands and hair trouble. I stuck with the reference's four fingers cause attempting a fifth was a pain in the ass.

Overall pretty satisfied with how they've resulted.

Smol lore:

Helena and Megan grew up together, because both of their mothers worked in the same place. Helena's mother being Gwen Davis-Black and Raha Akina, both were waitresses in a café. They love spending time together, playing at the town's playground, playing dress up in Gwen's closet, going on Raha's farm to tend the garden and take care of the farm animals, even going into the mall together. They have a friendship bracelet that they still kept to this day.

I sadly don't have any ship for Helena yet, I haven't thought about it to be honest 😅 but I'm open for suggestions 😉
