Can we talk about one of my favorite and earliest introductions to anime?

Fushigi Yuugi

First of all, I have never related to such a character like Miaka. She is as in love with food as I am, bubbly, She always says what’s on her mind and isn’t afraid to tell it like she sees it. And she is ride or die for her bestie

Examples

She wasn’t afraid of calling out Nuriko for being a cow to her while also giving them a gift. Also when Tamahome did something to hurt her feelings.

I love everything about Nurikos character. They are always there to help always there to cheer up Miaka and I loved how nothing really changes even though we find out they were actually born a boy. The only thing it does is bring on a few questions within the group and that’s it. Personally I like how Miaka and Tamahome treat them as a sibling. And the pinning for Hotohori was entertaining.

Personally I thought Hotohori was kind of plain character that only had a few selected funny moments because everyone thought he was a girl simply because he was beautiful. He did win me over a little while visiting Tamahomes family. But the man had conviction I will give him that. The fact this man knew that he had little chance of winning against Nagato and basically said “fuck it I’m taking this mf out” and charged him earned him my respect.

Tasuki is my favorite character and kind of reminds me of the younger sibling of the group. He is a very interesting character and refuses to join Miaka for a while before he gives and decides to come along. the banter between him and the other warriors always made me laugh and I love how he doesn’t take shit from anyone he defends Miaka from Tamahome and takes a beating for her and encourages the group to leave her alone after Tamahomes betrayal. Then after all of the drama with Tamahome he actually becomes friendly with the guy and they proceed to have their own version of prank wars.

I’m not even going to talk about the psychological issues and trauma that is Tamahome but he and Miaka are adorable together. I just wish the constant repetition of names trope was not a thing

I just need to know if anyone else has watched this show or read the manga?

Since Sesshomaru and Rin were traveling together after they got married...did they just send Jaken away when it was time to get intimate? It would be hilarious if at a point Jaken wouldn’t even have to be told, he’d just see how they were looking at each other and know it’s time for him to go.

Also, Sesshomaru and Rin just be making babies on the forest floor. I hope Sesshomaru let her use his mokomoko to be more comfortable. 😂

Omg but I feel like Jaken would be completely oblivious to them though.

I can imagine him trying to follow them into the woods and Sesshomaru just gives him that look of “Go away.”

Jaken is left confused looking between him and Rin “oh…” a few months later Rin announces that she is pregnant.
