It’s Capaldi’s wedding ring. He never takes it off, even when acting.

To add to the story, he refuses to take it off because when his acting career was struggling, his wife never gave up on him. When he landed his first major gig, he decided to not take it off, to represent he was there because of his wife’s support.

The term “girl power” gets thrown around like confetti these days. I’ve dabbled in some girl power writing myself. Usually it means the girl gets to save the guy at the end and carry a gun in a really cute purse. Girl power in my mind is the power to let girls be exactly what they are. Let them be angry. Let them be resentful. And rebellious. Let them be hard and soft and loving and sad and silly. Let them be wrong. Let them be right. Let them be everything. Because, they are everything.
