“Glad you’re alright. As for the coffee, I’ve got a cup that I haven’t touched, if that’s chill with you?” Carter rattled off, smile friendly as always while he carefully held out the cup.

*· ☆,.- “W—what…..?!?” Bethany had been falling asleep over her researches, and was now jolting up when someone studdenly stood there in front of her.

“Dang, sorry to wake you up,” Carter apologized, tone sincere. “Just wanted to make sure you’re alright though.”

Matt laughed, shaking his head. “Thanks! I mean, my name is probably the coolest part of me, but… I appreciate the sentiment, either way.” He most definitely wasn’t getting the best of the best, but hey, someone was rooting for him, right?

“You’re welcome and glad that I could make you smile,” Carter stated with what might have been an award winning smile. “So, if you don’t mind me asking, what brought you here? Also, how are you?”

Matt grinned, reaching out and shaking the other’s hand. After everything else happening in his life, it was nice to feel a little bit of normalcy. “It’s- It’s great to meet you, Carter. I’m Matt. Murdock. Matt Murdock.”

“Matt Murdock, cool name and great to meet you too. I hope that Sioux Falls has been treating you well, you seem to be a cool guy who deserves just that. The best of the best,” Carter rattled off as he returned the handshake, smile bright.

“Yeah, that’s certainly quite true,” Carter answered with a small laugh of his own. Extending his hand out for a shake, he added, “I’m Carter Drake, nice to meet you.”

Carter gave a laugh of his own as he listened, soon remarking, “Well, you’re just a man of many talents, aren’t you?”

*· ☆,.-   Raven had a bleeding cut on her right side, near her wsit, though, she could only hope it wasn’t too obvious to the guy. “Ran into some trouble,” she therefore only said, hoping that would be nothing rare happening in this town. “Four against one. Not a very fair fight, after all…”

“Always some wild form of trouble here in Sioux Falls,” Carter remarked under his breath before turning and reaching into his messenger bag, removing a small bandage roll that he held out. “Definitely not a fair one. By the looks and sound of it at least, but what matters most right now is that you’re okay.”

*· ☆,.-   “This is okay. I… I am okay. It looks more worse than it actually is….” After all, Raven wanted no one to pity here. Even when she could barely walk and was therefore sitting on a bench somewhere outside late at night all on her own.

“Hey, are you alright? Sorry, stupid question, polite yet still stupid. Anyway, what’s going on?” Carter inquired as he walked over. Eyes bright with concern, the 21 year old could rarely keep himself away from situations where someone needed help.
