wingsxkelly:
“i have no idea what youre talking about.”
“I’m sure you don’t.”
nursejones:
“Explain that sentence?”
“Really? Are you stupid?”
unpossessedsally:
“as much as i appreciate your concern that wasn’t what i was trying to do.”
“Yeah, sure, okay. Then what were you trying to do?”
ofalexanderiisms:
*· ☆,.- “Well, in that case, do I have any chance that youn let me just try it again?”
Jaden felt himself laugh, his eyes sweeping over the other man in a way that was definitely not subtle. “For you... sure. Though I can’t promise we won’t be here all night.”
carterxdrake:
“Huh, is that so buddy? And here I was, a poor soul, hoping you’d be an open book.”
Jaden paused for a moment, his smile turning far more ‘genuine.’ “I could be, for you,” he said, stepping into the man’s space.
demoncalix:
“Smug and slightly narcissistic no? How mysterious.”
“Oh, look at that, I stand corrected. Looks like you’ve got my character down in a nutshell.” But the sarcasm was dripping from his words.
b-elatalbot:
“Listen, I’m sure the Cuervo family would be just as upset as you are, but they’ve had to deal with people shooting tequila with salt and limes instead of sipping it neat for centuries. If their dreams can be crushed, so can yours. Drink your warm tequila.” Bela hated those awful soppy feelings, but it was honestly just so damn good to see him. “Yeah. I’m alive.”
Jaden laughed, low and soft, as he brought his (warm) tequila to his lips. He didn’t need a reminder as to why he had been fond over this human, but if he had, this would have served as one. “You have to admit this bar isn’t the greatest, at least,” he said, a quick shake of his head-- though he was unable to turn away from the other just yet. “I shouldn’t be surprised. If anyone could sneak their way out of hell, it’d be the same girl that stole the Elephant Diamond out frm underneath my nose.”
matermonstrum:
As soon as he was on his feet, Eve released his hand and lifted her own to touch the side of his face. The dragons always were some of her favourites, and she was certainly pleased that this one was still alive. “It did. Thank you, Jaden.” Briefly, she looked down at her vessel, noticing how petite she was in comparison to him; she liked that. “Definitely. Let’s do something about that boredom.”
Before she had taken over, this body was nothing more than a little sniveling virgin in the eyes of Jaden. Now, as he did a once over, he saw her differently. She was his mother- the mother of all monsters- and she was beautiful. He felt his grin spread across his face, his eyes crinkling at the corner as he thought about the kind of trouble they could get in together. The kind of things they could do... “Whatever you wish for, I’m here.”
“Oh, sweetheart, it’ll take a lot more than that to get a read on me.”
ctcrnaldarkncss:
“ come on, you haven’t. “ or maybe he simply wasn’t used to any of this anymore, clouding his judgement. who knew. “ i think that sounds like a plan. but i should warn you. my tolerance is probably going to be awful. “ it had been years and a resurrection since his last drink after all.
“Not to you, maybe,” And maybe that was a good sign, a sign that he could have made a move even now-- But Jaden liked taking his time, he liked savoring it all. “I’ll go easy on you, then,” he laughed. “What are your plans for tomorrow?”
psychic-pamela:
Pamela let out a bark of laugh, she wasn’t gonna start shedding tears over his attitude but she at least offered one last look over to who was. But she wasn’t his mom and everyone had to get their heart broken at least once. “I guess we already got each other figured out, huh? You probably already know the answer,” she’d quipped back before a sorta smile broke through. What? Jesse had, at least, been good. “Jesse. Rock your world and then some. If you had to be laid to rest by one man and one man only… He’d definitely be up there.”
Jaden hummed, like he was actually interested. He didn’t really care if Jesse had been the best lay in the world, humans were so extremely trivial and-- okay, Jaden was petty. Whatever. “I’m sure. Hence the tat. Mind if I ask what happened? No, wait- let me guess. A week passed by and he found some other Leonard Skinner groupie with nicer legs, right?”
heavenly-hannah:
“Is that so? Can’t say I have any real experience with either, but back when I was here before I found it enjoyable to listen to their music.”
“Give it a chance, if you haven’t yet. Sex is much better than music, I guarantee.”
novakxclaire:
“Oh god, I don’t want some made-up idea of a flawless forever guy who fits perfectly into my life. No way. If I were looking, I’d want a Mr. Right Now. Someone I don’t totally hate who wants to spend time with me. But I’m not looking, because love is so 1950′s. I’m Happy just…Living my life. Eating pancakes and talking to strangers in the middle of the morning.” Somehow–and until this very moment, Claire had been almost certain it was impossible–Jaden was even more cynical about love than she was. “I’d take that as a compliment, but you don’t know me well enough to know the noses I’ve broken in this town. I’m sure the locals duck and cower when I come through. Hardly Miss Sioux Falls material here.” She wore that badge a little proudly, a left-over from her old rebellious life where being the toughest got you the farthest. “Hmm, that makes sense. Not giving a shit can be very time consuming, I’ve found.”
Jaden laughed, shaking his head. She wasn’t wrong about the 1950′s- everyone was so ridiculously cliche and full of love back then (and stupidly modest, too). That was one of the reasons why Jaden loved the time they were in now. Nobody bothered with modesty anymore and he loved it. “It’s not a bad way to live, being in the moment. Men are useless, anyways.” He liked her, even though she was mortal. She faintly reminded him of another girl, who wasn’t really the kind of girl to settle down either. But Bela had died over a decade ago and he wasn’t going to linger over the pain of her memory. He laughed again, nearly snorting out coffee. “Believe it or not, that makes you better. People always ignore the ones with an actual backbone, but they shouldn’t. Those are the ones that have actual brains.” He set his coffee down, wiping the smallest of liquids that had clung to his lips. “Takes up almost all of my time, if I’m being honest.”
matermonstrum:
Rising from the pit had been as easy as it was the last time, but back then Eve had had to corral her children and guide them through the process of summoning her. This time was different- this one had done it alone and of his own accord. “Jaden.” She approached him with an extended hand, her vessel’s scars already healing. “Rise. Dragons weren’t born to kneel.”
Jaden lifted his head, looking upon the body that had once been a trembling crying mortal. He looked upon her with different eyes, seeing instead the mother that brought him life. Without hesitation, he took her hand, pulling himself up. “It worked,” he said breathlessly, his eyes never leaving her face. “It... It has been far too long.”
🤡
🤡 biggest fear?
“Fear? I’m not afraid of anything.”
The moment the body dropped into the pit, Jaden found himself falling to his knees, intending to only pay the deepest respects to Eve. His eyes stayed trained on the pit, watching… waiting. It had to work.
Sacrificial || Jaden Self-Para
No matter how many supernatural were crawling the town, Sioux Falls was already getting dreadfully boring. Everyone had adapted to the chaos, so much that even the craziest of things were just another morning coffee talk. Jaden didn’t care for it one bit. He was bored. Which was never a good thing.
This was more than boredom, he’d admit- this was about loyalty and cravings, and something he couldn’t quite explain. Jade may have been fucked up beyond repair, but there was someone out there who could make it all better. And Jaden was the perfect guy to bring her back.
