Last night was nothing short of amazing. Although I am saddened that my booking mentor, Joel Haston, booked and ran his final show, I am equally as excited to do my part to help keep the legacy of PinUp Productions alive in the South Bay. He took a risk on giving this goofy death metal dude a chance to book shows of various genres through his company with no prior experience. I have learned so much from you over the last year and know I will still be calling you with a million questions when it will take too long to text. The Bay Area music scene is one that thrives and the impact you had on it means the world to so many. The fact Lionheart was playing their final show as well was all too fitting. I have seen them numerous times through PinUp shows over the years and it was incredible to see the member rotation of previous line ups. My first time I can recall was the Halloween show at the refuge, where I first witnessed the Red Ranger throwing down. I would also like to thank all the bands that played because without you it would just be a crowd of people shouting over each other, big thanks to Mugshot, Know Your Enemy, and Strife for sharing equipment and making my job easier. Thanks to my good friends Brian and Kevin for letting me borrow your cabinets for back lining. Thank you to my fellow PinUp team members on a job well done last night and the metro for providing a space for this madness. Finally thank you to everyone that attended. You are the reason these bands get to do what they love. That was a hell of a way to show appreciation. (at Oakland Metro Operahouse)
