ok I know this is like so incredibly obvious but like itās so funny to me that Jurgen Leitner is buried under the name George Icarus because that crusty old manās book collecting really did get him too close to the sun didnāt it
Jon Distortion AU
ok hear me out, so in MAG 101 Michael intends to kill Jon by sending him through the hallways, right? So what about an AU where it works, and Jon is taken by the distortion. Jon is missing for a few weeks, and then when Michael takes a victim next, (probably Tim or another archival staff for lore purposes) but is confused when a door is created, and this time, it is green, with a large eye on it. As its stare burns into Michael, he screams, and Disappears. Out of the door steps a Jon Distortion. Hijinks ensue.
Spiral avatar that's like "Hey want to watch Goncharov with me" and then puts on a 24 hour black screen video and tries to convince you that there's actually a movie playing the entire time
I have too many ideas
guys Iāve been thinking about Mike crew and how heās followed by The Lichtenberg Figure, a manifestation of the spiral that could be mistaken for the vast, and about how all the entities are interlinked, which got me thinking about spiral entities that lie to you about being manifestations of OTHER FEARS
think about it- a creature covered in eyes who represents the fear of your own sight not being trustworthy
a farm animal with seemingly too many bones, who makes strange patterns in the grass while grazing
A carnie (is he on stilts or are his legs just like thatā who runs a twisting and ever-changing hall of mirrors
A strange doctor, with filthy supplies who seems to enjoy electroshock therapy and altering your memories a bit too much
Someone you know is (or atleast thought to be) dead, but now that you think about it, may be your memory failing you (think Mandela effect )
A spidery (not too far from standard spiral creatures, lots of bones) creature who convinces you everyone is connected and out to get you
A plaguing pestilence that carves fractals out in their huntings and bug bites
A creature clearly hunting you, you think itās there but there isnāt any real proof, and you start to doubt yourself
a hedge maze owner where the hedge starts to grow over itself and it gets darker and darker
And it comes to artifacts too!!

soldier- The Slaughter
also all the horror creatures (serverblight, emesis blue, and others) are creatures of The Flesh, being unnaturally twisted figures. The Mann brothers are avatars of The Slaughter, and the gravel pit brawl are decades of failed rituals.
Merasmus is an avatar of The Lonely frustrated because Soldier wonāt leave him alone.
The Bombonomicon is a Leitner of The Eye and The Desolation
Saxton Hale is not an avatar, he simply cannot be exploited because he does not feel fear.
Australium is a scam made up by End influenced alchemists to exploit fear.

The Administrator was briefly āgood friendsā with Gertrude Robinson.
Elias watches the team fights when heās bored, but since he knows where all the spies are itās like those people who yell at horror movies (āheās right behind you!!ā)
Zepheniah Mann was friends with Jonah Magnus, likely having a letter statement in the archives, and was present with all the others at the meeting where Smirke told them about the 14. He quickly became an avatar of the slaughter and his family all the same
The Conaghers (Engies family) are ALL avatars of the end, but in a specific way of trying to bring about the birth of The Extinction. The respawn machine is specifically to bring about the terror of death without actually dying, as it still hurts and they make sure to tell the mercs there is always the chance of it backfiring.
(For all these families guided by entities think of the Lukas family)
I would also like to make a change to a previous post, I believe that Sniper is still an avatar of the hunt (āso long as two people exist in the world, someoneās gonna want someone dead.ā) he is also marked by The Eye, watching over everyone, and it is also fed well by his terror of being seen in his spot.

The Conaghers have owned Book of the Dead for centuries like an old family heirloom before selling it to Leitner. They always used it as a running gag because it could only predict the next time they would be going through the respawn machine.
The Administrator used Security Camera Instruction Manual to be able to see all the arenas extensively, and similar to Mike Crew, reading it caused her to become an avatar.
The Tale of a Field Hospital was also in the hands of Medic for a bit, just enough for a quick read-through, marking him by the corruption. Medic comes across Leitners much more often than any of the other mercs because he not only reads for the power, but just as a hobby, so is always looking for new reads.
Spy originally got with Scoutās mom as a way to scope her out for the Not!Them, but then fell in love, so after he discovered she was pregnant he left so his family wouldnāt be devoured by the Stranger. Nikola is the only one who truly knows his reason and constantly uses it as a bargaining tool because trauma. Spy doesnāt really want to be an avatar anymore.
