"Aye," he sighs. "So do I. âCan yâdo me a favour and not tell Lu I stayed over, by the way? Sâonly gonâ make things worse."
"Sure," she nods. "Dunno when I'd see her anyway."

"Aye," he sighs. "So do I. âCan yâdo me a favour and not tell Lu I stayed over, by the way? Sâonly gonâ make things worse."
"Sure," she nods. "Dunno when I'd see her anyway."
âFew days, I guess. Ah, donât worryâ I ainât gonâ stay here for that long. Iâll be gone in a couple hours, find somewhere else.â
"Alright. It's just my brother's comin' up later so--" She pauses. "I... hope you get things sorted."
"Aye, well, it happened. Sâall that matters, really. âAh, thanks for lettinâ me stay on yâcouch."
"Don't mention it," she says, shaking her head. "Uh... do you know... how long--?"
cassidymartel replied to your post
"Iâm sorry."
  âDonât be. Yâdidnât force me.â
  "I also didn't say no."
âSo, are ya totally sure yâainât gonâ be happy with just me? âCause I know youâve still got Murphy and she is damn good at her job. And Hads. He knows everythinâ Lu did, maybe more at this pointââ
"It's not up to me, Lonnie," she reminds him. "I'm just the messenger-- the third messenger."
âDonât need ya tâtell me that, Cass,â he says with a shake of the head. Heâs quiet for a few moments longer, at which point he sighs, rubs his eyes and then straightens up properly. "Câmon. I need a drinkinâ buddy right now. Least yâcan do, I reckon."
She nods again before gesturing the bartender over and ordering herself a drink. She's not really in much of a position to do otherwise. And, honestly, she could use a drink.
âYou can collectively go fuck yourselves, Cassidy,â is all he has to say in response to that. "If it werenât for me and Lu, Wyrick wouldnât even have half the pull it does today. And what the fuck do we get for that? Fuckinââ fuckinâ death threats, murdered family members, beinâ scared for our God-fuckinâ-damn lives all the fuckinâ time!      Goâ go fuck yourself. Yeah. Go tell that tâOliver. Tell himâ tell him anybody that comes for us is gonna fuckinâ get a bullet right âtween the fuckinâ eyes courtesy âa Wyrickâs best fuckinâ man.â
Cassidy offers a small nod, honestly unaware of how she's supposed to respond. She'd done what she'd been sent to and he'd reacted in exactly the way she'd expected him to. She hadn't planned any further ahead than that.
She'll report back later, inform those she needs to of the response she was given (paraphrased, most definitely), and she'll hope for the best. Lonnie's taught her a lot and Lucy seems like a smart woman -- she'd only met her a handful of times -- she doesn't want to see them dead, their children orphaned.
"Alright," she says. "Just... be careful."
"We have kids, Cass," he sighs, bringing a hand up to rub his face. He doesnât say anything for a few moments, simply leaning against the bar with his face in his hand. Jesus. There really is no getting away, is there? "What âbout jusâ me?"
She shakes her head. "That was what I was told to tell you. Both of you or they make a move. You wanna contact somebody yourself and work something out, I say do it. I don't know how lenient people are gonna be but it's worth a shot. I'm on your side here, okay? It's not fair to ask you to come back now you have a family but you were the best we had and we need you."
âDoesnât matter,â he huffs. "Forget it. Why yâhere? My olâ buddies wanna finish off the Galligan line?"
"No," she says, giving a shake of the head. "The opposite, actually. We want you back, Lonnie. You and your wife. Powers-that-be have said this is your last warning before they start sending not-so-friendly faces. I'd think about it."
misterchats replied to your post:
"Like I fuckinâ care," he says, finishing off his fifth beer.
"-- What's goin' on?" she asks, sitting herself down beside him.
  "You look like shit."
"I usually talk down âbout Vegas, but Iâm tempted tâjust say how much better it is than fuckinâ Portland right now.â
"It wasn't bad," she repeats, chuckling some. "I liked it."
"You sure got the shitty end âa the relocation stick."
"Nah, it wasn't that bad," she chuckles. "Kinda liked it, actually."
  "Silverado Highâ uh, in Vegas."
"Ah, no, I grew up in Portland," she says. "I was born in Vegas though."
âRight? Shit, I dunno. Maybe we went tâschool together or some shit.â
  "Where'd you go to school?"
