no but really, I love that they each have an ulterior motive! speaking as someone who irl tends to take people at their word, that moment when I had to take a step back and realise no one realllly has my back; I'm just a tool to be purposed for...something...really hit (still won't stop me trying to be bffs with Tabby and letting Wayne infiltrate my nervous system every playthrough though haaa)

I also love how real each character is; how multidimensional they are - I think that's why my brain's stuck on SH atm! like it makes sense that Tabby brings you there for some sort of nefarious reason, based on the way she's been raised and the fact she doesn't know you (other than the nasty things her mum told her about you) - and the character development if you're kind to her and lower her defences!

both BTG games really weave such intriguing narratives that I can't help but just get lost in them ughhh...how do people come up with these stories?! I really need to write up another game review for my site soon...

side note: ren'py is defo a decent engine but it still blows my mind to see the creativity that can come out of it - makes me want to pick up my lil project that I restart and subsequently abandon every year again :')

We barely know anything about Madagascar pre-500CE. We don’t even know whether the island had a permanent population before then, despite finding a bunch of much older signs of temporary human presence.

The point is, we do not know.

anon hater just accused me of (among other things) "encouraging kids to install malware on their parents' computers". I don't remember ever doing that but it sounded like a fun concept for a post so here are some ideas for things to install on your parents' computers!

a custom DNS resolver that blocks access to Fox News and other right-wing propaganda outlets

a keylogger to capture the admin password for your router so you can disable parental controls

a VPN or a virtual machine running the Tor browser to bypass access restrictions and age verification checks

your own "parental controls" browser extension, set up to send you notifications if your parents visit websites that indicate they might be spying on you (e.g. Life360)

a userscript that adds a fake virus warning popup to the donation pages of fascist political parties

have fun! make sure to do loads of reading and learn how things work so you can break them safely and effectively!

I'm always half-serious about the erotica that I draw in the sense that ofc it's there to get you excited but it's also there as a fantastic vehicle for character studies!! And phm is no different.

Two beings, just straight up trauma-bonding it in space, isolated to such a degree that the hail mary becomes a little pressure-cooker of "anything goes". It's a culture of two that already has challenged so many preconceived notions.

Questions that Plague me: What is Grace's relationship to being perceived as a sexual being? Is he immediately embarrassed and awkward about it? Why? How would a being that spent half a century in the deafening silence of space react to another being whose body can be read like an open book, heartbeat and breathing and all? They implicitly trust each other to an insane degree, what would they be willing to unpack with someone who makes them feel safe and has shown themselves willing to accommodate?

People speedrun the intimacy scale for less.

Shame and desire tell soooo much about how one perceives and organises the world that I can't not tease it between my teeth. I said "he's a hunted thing at heart" about grace and many of you felt what I was putting in that one!!
