“If you can’t find it in town, I think you’ll have to reach out a bit further in the next town for their car dealerships. Surely they’ll have the truck you’re looking for - at least, the latest model might be there. I don’t know if you’re going to find that particular year’s model, if that was your plan.”
Shit. “Well, it was,” she groaned. “Paw Paw gave me that truck before he passed.” And now she had to get a new truck...”Thanks, though,” Cassidy got up and grabbed her things, running her hand down her face. “Guess I’ll have to tow it and find a new truck.”
“What the fuck-knuckles-” Cassidy mumbled as soon as she walked into work, confused as to why her bar look like a mess. “This was clean, and now it’s messed up, oh for the love of bloody hell!” she growled as she started fixing it up. “I’ll be with you in a minute,” she told the person behind her as she started fixing up the bottles.
“Your car is totaled. Buying a new car would cost less than trying to fix it.” She said bluntly. “Unless you’re willing to throw in all that money for this old car, I suggest you invest in another one.” It had to be for nostalgic reasons if one wanted to keep a car when it was to the point when magic wouldn’t be able to save it. “I’m not sure what else you’d like me to say.”
“But...it’s-” Cassidy started. That old Ford was her grandfathers, and he gave it to her as a birthday present when she turned 18. She didn’t mean to get it totaled when she went out that moonlit night-but to have it not totaled...blowing out a breath, she groaned. Today just really wasn’t her day, huh? “Well I had for so long that it’s like family. But if it’s gone...” Cassidy groaned. “Know any car places that sells F150s?”
“Are you here for a dance, or a good night? Because if a dance is all you wanted, then you’ll have to go to the stage instead. I don’t dance privately.” She chuckled as the one in front of her seemed indecisive about what they actually want for the night. Looking over her shoulder, she spotted a familiar face, “Okay, you think about that, beautiful. I’m going to go.” She turned her attention to the familiar face, “The night hasn’t even started and I’m already exhausted.”
At the bar, Cassidy was making drinks like she normally does, but her mind was far away tonight. Before work, she’d gotten a text from her dad, and that shook her up till the point that when she heard the statement, it went though one ear and out the other. “Huh? Oh...yeah, it is,” she agreed, though she looked away for a moment. “I’m sorry...I’m just...not ‘here’ today.”
Dylan was really not the type to stay at home. Damien was probably the one person she had seen the most, and her pet hadn’t been coming over so needless to say, she was bored. Like most businesses, hers did also take a hit but nothing she couldn’t figure out. Honestly, the thing that bothered her the most was that the town was on lockdown because of the pandemic and the half-demon did not like that at all.
Even when she was taking a walk, this town was too quiet. There were hardly anything times were normal, and even less now that they were being restricted. “This town is as dull as ever.” She muttered.
Cassidy was restless, and she hated that feeling. After the lockdown because of the pandemic, she felt like she was about to go completely insane if she didn’t see another living being. And on top of that, before the lockdown happened she went back home to Nashville for a bit, but a run in with her father and hiding what she was made her run back to Fallcrest.
Now as she took Sammy for a walk, she almost felt...normal again, even though it felt different. “You can say that again,” she said with a sigh. “It’s a bit...dull and it’s making me want to go to sleep.”
...guess who figured out the password for this blog of mine
I used to be that crazy person that was strict about what I did and didn’t eat. I was so diligent with exercise. And as soon as I stopped thinking about it, I lost weight. I wasn’t stressing about it. The balance and relaxing is what’s really helped me.

“Uh, the community college…” she repeated, stopping short of pointing out that the ‘where’ is what she was trying to figure out. Noting the large bag of dog food, Lena wondered if perhaps she should’ve asked someone else, but the woman spoke again and she gave a simple nod. “I would appreciate it, if it’s not too much of a bother.”
The community college...oh, she knew exactly where that was. “It’s not a bother,” Cassidy told her, hefting the bag under her arm as she started to lead her towards the community college. Sometimes on her days off she’ll walk towards the college when she had nothing else to do. “Are you new here?’ she asked curiously.

Lena had managed to make it all the way from the bustling streets of Barcelona, to the quaint little remote town of Fallcrest in Pennsylvania…in the United States. That was a whole ocean apart, and though it wasn’t the first time she’d made such a trip, it was the first time she’d done so without her mother… Shaking her head, she closed the door to her new office behind her -opting to sort through the newly arrived mess later- and instead began to walk in the general direction of what she believed to be the town center. After a while, she figured there was no harm in asking for some help, “Sorry to bother, but would you happen to know the way to Fallcrest Community College?”
‘Where?” Cassidy asked, confused as ever. She had just walked out of the pet store with a bag of dog food for her dog, and turned her head to the side as she thought about it. “I think I do..” she mused, having been around the college for a minute. “I haven’t been there in a minute, but I can show you where it is.’

She nodded as Sammy looked up from Jack’s lap. He whined and didn’t move for a moment before Cassidy gently picked him. “It’s lovely to see you too. Maybe we can do it again?” she asked hopefully, holding up her dog and gently kissed him on her cheek, and he barked and whined again.
Jack reached out a hand to pacify the pup, nodding at the owner in the process. “Definitely! It was fun,” she said with a grin. “Maybe next time we can skip the first bit where you feel the need to beat up some bloke though,” she teased. After a wave, she was out the door and turning into an alley so as not to be seen, she orbed off.

Benji raised an eyebrow at the claim that she’d almost won the drinking game. He might not know much about the bartender yet, but he did know Damien was a full demon. As a hunter he knew enough about them that figuring one almost lost a drinking game was curious…mostly because full demons didn’t get drunk. At least not off anything that could be found in a bar. “I’m sure it was tight race,” he offered.
‘Oh it was...but then I got so drunk that I started to not sound so darn good so he won and I went home, so....” she felt that the contest put a little sting on her prde, but then she got over it somehow. “But we did come up with a drink using Jaeger so maybe it was a good thing after all that I didn’t loose.”

Jack had herself a laugh at the picture too, before adding, “Just goes to show how perseverance can sometimes be the ultimate weapon.” A slight faraway look suddenly shown on her features, and then she smiled politely as as she extricated herself from beneath the doggy. “Apologies, but it appears I’ve lost track of time and am needed elsewhere. It was lovely to see you two though,” she offered.

Benji let out a small laugh of his own at the words. “I suppose it can be like talking to a wall…a very loud, obnoxious, wall. I still don’t know how he managed to convince me to work for him. He’s not really the kind of person I would normally give the light of day,” he admitted. It was like the guy had some sort of way with words, but the bouncer supposed he couldn’t complain too much. He got the time off that he wanted and no background check was done so, win for him.
“Well it took him a while to get me to work for him, but then one drinking contest I said yes,” Cassidy explained with a chuckle. “And on top of that I know his sister, so,” she shrugged as she kept walking towards the bar. “And on top of that, I was almost close to winning that drinking game...” she huffed.
