I know I’ve been hiatus-ing off and on for a while and I’m really sorry because it probably makes rping with me hellish so ty for not getting mad at me for losing threads cuz I know I’ve lost a couple (which for the record, you are totally free and ENCOURAGED to remind me of via dms)

I’m gonna get to some replies between today and tomorrow while I’m feeling up to it (maybe do valentines day prompts depending. Idk.) but then I’m for sure going to be on a hiatus until at ~least~ the 17th but probably a bit longer. I might get to a couple replies between tomorrow and then but they’ll for sure be scattered.

Just super anxious about the impending surgery (its minor but somehow knowing that doesnt help) on the 17th and it makes it kinda hard to write. Hopefully after I get better I’ll be on here more regularly though.

I ended up having some complications with it and ended up in the hospital for about a week after it (when I was supposed to be out that day). Anyways I’m fine now and have been out for like just over a week and am FINALLY ready to get back on here and rp, sorry it took so much longer than it was supposed to though lol

Normally Cassandra would be the Responsible Friend™ but… That bunny in the window is just so cute. And it’s true, her brother does have a ton of animals and it’s not like she can’t afford it so…

“Alright.” she smiles a bit, following her friend inside.

“Yessssss” she whispered. When they got into the store, Steph veered right to the bunnies. 

“CASS LOOK! They’re so cute!” She then whispered “how many do you think we could fit in the cave?”

Cassandra looks at the bunnies, considering for a moment before saying, “Goliath would scare them.... My room though....” she grins over at her, “All of them.”

She can’t really imagine Bruce saying anything about her getting bunnies-- he let Damian have Goliath-- especially since she’d feed them. Plus she’s certain Alfred would be okay with making sure they were fed whenever she left the city if she asked nicely. 

She leans down, watching one that’s black and fuzzy with bug floppy ears and smiling at it. It’s so... Cute. Wary of her, but used to people by now so not too afraid. It hops forwards, it’s movements indicating curiosity, watching her.

“I want this one.” she decides, looking over at Stephanie

1. Cassandra dances before and after training. It’s sort of like a warm up/cool down exercise and also helps to remind her that her body is more than just a weapon.

1. Training. Cass canonically trains like a crazy person okay. Even if there isn’t a set goal or her skills are already sharp, she trains every day without fail for at least an hour. She may or may not be a bit of a perfectionist.

2. Dancing. Cass loves to dance and she loves that there’s a way to use the control she has over her body to do something beautiful. Creating rather than destroying. I’m of the opinion Bruce built her a ballet studio when he found out she loves to dance and she probably hangs out in there a lot.

“it’s just a cut, really.”

Harper raised an eyebrow at Cassandra, her eyes glued to the gash in her side. “Maybe that’s just a cut,” She said pointing to the obvious cut on the heroine’s cheek, “But, that” The blonde continued, nodding her head to the injury she had been more than worried about. “That one needs some medical attention.. N o w.”

She glances down at the wound in her side, considering. It doesn’t really hurt but it’ll probably need stitches with how much it’s bleeding. Of course, going to a safehouse or the cave and actually stitching it up wouldn’t really work.

“I’ll wrap it,” she says after a moment, “It’s fine.”

Harper shook her head. The wound looked serious and if she was being honest, it actually scared her a little. She knew, though, that being seen with her would probably be a big, fat N O, but Cass needed help. “Look, if it makes you feel more… Comfortable, I’ll stay away. I’m not lookin’ to cause any trouble… I.. I consider you a friend and I don’t think you should just dismiss that as nothing.”

She glances down at her wound and then up at Harper. She shakes her head slightly, annoyed at how dizzy she’s starting to feel. She’s yet to show even an ounce of pain since she got the wound though and it’s not like she hasn’t had worse before-- because she has. She definitely has. She’ll be fine. She is fine.

Which of course, is what she’s trying to assure Harper of before the world tilts a bit more than she had adjusted to and she almost falls over. Maybe getting back by rooftop isn’t the best plan after all.

“Maybe... I could use help.” she admits as she shakily pulls out something to wrap it with from her belt, “Kinda... dizzy.”

She pauses for another moment or two before almost absent mindedly adding, “You are my friend.”

Holy Glitter, Batgirl!

It had been a while since Cassandra had bothered to glitterbomb anyone. It’s not that she wasn’t able to, just that she was no longer really close to anyone so there hasn’t really been a need. 

Well, that and it seemed pointless to use them on people when she herself had done so much that was unforgivable.

Which is why the blue glitter that covered Tyson the minute he got home probably came as a surprise. Especially since they haven’t even talked in… Weeks? Months?

She had been trying. She had been trying to hard to figure out what she did, trying to figure out how she screwed up. She had never had many friends before, but now there was only even one or two people she talked with. (Which she, of course, understands completely). So letting someone she cares about just… Leave, without giving her a chance to fix whatever she messed up is… Hard.

She’s not in Tyson’s apartment when it happens, trying to respect that he doesn’t want to see her, whatever his reason may be. There’s nothing but blue glitter and a small note on the floor with the address of the safehouse she’s waiting at, along with a single word: Please.

He honestly didn’t know how Cass was able to figure out where he was going to be and when, but he knew it was her, and he had a feeling that Oracle had something to do with getting her into his home to set the glitter bomb.  After several showers and contemplative minutes on the note, he decides to meet Cassandra at the safehouse.  But on his terms.

Once he arrives, the electronics in the safe house begin to glitch, his face appearing distorted and coded in binary.

“You rang?” he asked. It was no longer a conversation he could avoid, but he would avoid it as much as he could before he couldn’t any longer.

She stares at the computer screen quietly when his face flickers to life on it. She’s been thinking a lot about what she was going to say if she could get him to talk to her but now that he’s here nothing sounds right and she doesn’t know where to start.

She sighs quietly, wishing she could just... undo whatever she did to hurt him. That she could somehow magically stop him from pushing her away like this when she cares about him so much. Or better, that she could just undo the horrible things she had done in the past. That she could just stop them from happening and maybe become a person worthy of forgiveness.

A person worthy of having people care about them.

“I didn’t think you’d come,” she says eventually. She looks sad, looking away from the screen and staring down at her lap instead, “Are you going to come inside?”

There was a time before everything that happened when she wouldn’t have even bothered asking but now... Now she isn’t sure. She isn’t sure about anything, really.

Holy glitter, Batgirl

Cassandra had been waiting a week for Jason to come see her– or even call. She had been certain he was just busy and that he’d remember his promise to watch the movie version of Pride and Prejudice he had been telling her about before he had to go. After all, it was him who read her the book in the first place and he had promised he’d watch it with her. 

She knows he probably didn’t mean to forget and that the fact that he missed her calls was most likely not intended to hurt her feelings. Sadly for him, she is upset about it. 

So when he gets back from patrol and takes off his helmet he’s unable to get more than a few steps into his safe house before being covered head to toe in bright pink glitter. Bright pink glitter that somehow seems to come from everywhere at once. Bright pink glitter that it’s going to take forever to get off.

Of course, it’s his own fault for ignoring her and breaking his promise.

Jason was exhausted, he’s been following this human trafficker for weeks.  And finally, finally, he got him. He was trudging home, dead tired (Haha, dead jokes), and entered his house without a care in the world. He walked through the door, not sensing the other person in here, nor the glitter that rained on him. He stared at his sparkling self before looking up and spotting Cass. 

“What…what the fucking hell?” God, this will take weeks to get out. And now he will be all sparkly when he goes out to fight crime! Dammit! “Why the fuck did you glitter bomb me?” Oh, he was pissed and tired and so not up for Cassandra’s bullshit right now.

She crosses her arms, glaring at him. She’s in full civvis and the book is in her lap-- she had been trying, unsuccessfully, to read it again but hadn’t gotten more than one or two sentences in when she got frustrated with it.

It takes her a couple minutes-- definitely long enough for him to notice the book-- before she breaks her silence. When she finally speaks it’s only two words, quiet and mildly dejected.

“You forgot.”

Elva didn’t think she’d ever hurt this much in her life, and she’d been through some pretty rough stuff. But she needed to get away.

She could feel the blood pouring down her leg as she dragging herself down the alley. Where was she? Gotham… that made sense.

She hazily blinked, trying to remember what day it was. She think it had been about a week she had been taken captive. And then they used her as a fucking power source, and when she hurt she made more power. So they hurt her. She supposed it was also nice for them to let out their pent up rage against heroes on a helpless one.

God her ribs hurt, and she was fairly certain at least every part of her body hurt. She couldn’t take it anymore and collapsed in the alleyway. Maybe if she was lucky she’d be dead before a criminal found her.

Then there was hands on her, and a female voice asking her something, but she couldn’t focus well enough to tell that there was no harm intended, so she lashed out, weakly hitting at Cass, tiny harmless sparks flying as she tried to do something.

And that’s when her voice came back, and she started screaming. “Get off me! Get off me! Don’t touch me!” Her eyes looking beyond them. She was still lashing out and screaming when Jason knelt beside her and spoke. But by then she was tiring again and had stopped sparking.

Clarity slowly returned. “Jason?” she asked softly, “Where am I?” She was so tired, but she felt like something important happened and she needed to be awake.

Cassandra watches the sparks, not feeling them at all due to her suits insulation. She stares at her silently, confused because she had no idea her friend was a metahuman.

Then the other girl calms and recognizes Jason and… She officially has no idea what’s going on. In fact, she has no idea why Jason even followed her into the room– he doesn’t have a mask or his helmet on– aside from, well… He apparently knows her friend.

“Found you… In the street.” she tells her, using her strictly Batgirl voice, “You were… hurt.”

She helps her back onto the sofa, glancing at Jason. She doesn’t know if the other girl knows his identity or not and has no idea how to explain why she’s here… As in, in his apartment instead of a hospital or a normal safehouse.

Jason bent down beside Elva and stared at her, checking er over for injuries of any sort. Which, there were a lot of injuries. He scowled, who could have done this to Elva? With her powers she should have easily been able to avoid a big fight. 

He looked up at Cass and let out a long sigh, he knew she was probably confused. He hasn’t told anyone of his and Elva’s relationship. 

“Cass, this is Elva. She’s a… really close friend,” his smile turned grim, “Tell me, did you not see who did this to her?”

This time, Elva let Batgirl take hold of her and place her back onto the couch. She was quiet as the two talked, and slowly she began to shake. She tried to hold it back, but it soon became too much to control.

“They used me as a generator.”

Then came the tears. What was wrong with her? Letting herself get kidnapped, then being allowed to be used as a power source. She should have been able to bring the whole thing down in less than a day, but no, instead she had been gone for - what had it been a week? Maybe? she had lost track of the time. They definitely shouldn’t have been able to hurt her as much as they had. And on top of it she was pretty sure she had dropped her bag when she was taken and she didn’t know where the hell her phone was.

Cass makes a vaguely distressed noise when Jason used her actual name and then… Wait, Jason knows her? And apparently let her see his face? Her curiosity over it is cut a bit short though as Jason asks about 

“No.” she says after a minute, giving up on her Batgirl voice with her distress at how much she failed her friend, “I just…. found her. Brought her here… It was closest.”

She’s more than a little upset with herself now… She should’ve been able to do something, to help more. She had just assumed when Elva missed the call or two from her that she was just busy. And looking at the other girl… She’s not just upset, she’s blaming herself and that just drives Cass crazy. It’s her fault she didn’t get there sooner or go looking for the other girl, not Elva’s. She should’ve noticed the other girl was gone, should’ve checked on her.

Of course, explaining how it’s definitely not Elva’s fault is pretty hard considering Elva doesn’t know she’s Batgirl. She silently removes her mask, 

“I should have… Noticed. That you were gone. I’m… Sorry.” She sounds about as guilty as she feels, biting her lip before glancing between the two of them, “What’s a… a jen.. gen er…” she shakes her head, unable to say it properly.

She frowns more, then glances over at Jason, “And how do… How do you know her?”

Jason felt furious. How dare they? How dare they hurt her like that? How dare they use her like that? He felt himself grow furious. He felt the anger boil within him but he had to push it down, he had to help Elva first. Murder later. 

He held her tight before looking up to stare at Cass, ‘It’s not your fault. It’s neither of your faults, the only faults it is the bastards who did this to her,” he let out a long breath. Murder later, comfort now. 

“A generator is like a battery, they used Elva as a giant fucking battery,” his fists tightened and he scowled. Ok, maybe murder will come sooner than just ‘later.’

“Elva, me and Elva are sorta dating. Cass, Elva, Elva, Cass. Introductions over.”

Elva leans heavily into his embrace, trying to stop her shaking. It helps somewhat, and it definitely helps the cold feeling that had crept into her limbs. She almost didn’t notice that Batgirl had changed how she was speaking. Almost.

Looking over at Batgirl her suspicions were confirmed. It made sense that she would be Batgirl. There was no such thing as normal friends for Elva. “It’s not your fault, I was supposed to be back home and I told you I’d be busy this week.” She kept her own personal accusations to herself, but it seemed as though Jason figured it out anyway.

She laughed weakly at his introduction. “We already know eachother. She spilled my coffee on me,” she nodded slightly at Cass before looking back at Jason, “Sorry for the blood on the couch.”

“I bleed on it a lot,” Cass says, almost thoughtfully, “It’s ok.”

She looks between the two of them and frowns a bit, wondering when Jason had intended to tell her about the fact that he had a girlfriend. Of course, Elva is super nice and smart and Cass likes her but... She’s still a bit hurt he wouldn’t tell her sooner.

Not to mention concerned at the murderous rage she can practically see oozing out of every part of him. Of course, she can see how much he cares about Elva-- and her, too, then he gets mad about knowing she blames herself-- and it makes her... Worry. She wants the people who hurt Elva to pay but... She doesn’t want them dead. 

She punches his shoulder, suddenly, declaring nothing but, “Jerk.”

"Are you thinking it? You LOOK like you’re thinking it." ~ J'amzz(we can assume they've met before at this point if you want)

“…No.” Cassandra says after a moment, looking over at her friend.

She knows perfectly well there’s no way in the world that he’ll buy that. Honestly, ‘Busted!’ might as well have just been spray painted across her forehead. A small– and a bit devious, if we’re being honest– grin breaks across her face.

“Maybe.” She corrects herself, turning her attention back to where Batman and the other leaguers are talking, “But… I could. If I tried it.”

J’amzz mimics her movement with the cape and glares back at her. “No! I am Batman!”

Then he acted out as if he had a grappling gun(which he didn’t, but he did have the power of flight), and zipped over to the rafters on the other side. “Fear me!” By the grin he gave Cass, still shapeshifted as Batman, it was clear he was having fun.

“No!” she laughs, “You are an... imposter!”

And with that she grapples over towards him, clearly grinning from behind her mask. 

“You will fool... Nobody!”

“If anyone lays a hand on you, I’ll break their every finger.” //@ J'amzz

J’amzz blinked at her comment, before his green cheeks darkened slightly with a blush, and put his forehead into his palm. “Cass,” he sighed, “I do not need protection, I am a Martian after all.”

“I still would.” she shrugs. looking over at him.

She’s more than a little overprotective when it comes to people she cares about and J’amzz is no exception. Martian or not, she’d be more than happy to kick some asses for him.

He finally looks up and smiles at her. “That is kind of you,” he tells her, “Hopefully you won’t need to because the only ones who seem to be trying to harm me are now in jail.”

She smiles a little, nodding.

“But if they’re not..” she says, “I’ll... Beat them up.”

And with that she pulls him into a hug. She has no intentions of letting one of her closest friends get hurt... Even if he can most definitely take care of himself.

Holy Glitter, Batgirl!

It had been a while since Cassandra had bothered to glitterbomb anyone. It’s not that she wasn’t able to, just that she was no longer really close to anyone so there hasn’t really been a need. 

Well, that and it seemed pointless to use them on people when she herself had done so much that was unforgivable.

Which is why the blue glitter that covered Tyson the minute he got home probably came as a surprise. Especially since they haven’t even talked in… Weeks? Months?

She had been trying. She had been trying to hard to figure out what she did, trying to figure out how she screwed up. She had never had many friends before, but now there was only even one or two people she talked with. (Which she, of course, understands completely). So letting someone she cares about just… Leave, without giving her a chance to fix whatever she messed up is… Hard.

She’s not in Tyson’s apartment when it happens, trying to respect that he doesn’t want to see her, whatever his reason may be. There’s nothing but blue glitter and a small note on the floor with the address of the safehouse she’s waiting at, along with a single word: Please.

Mainverse.

Not set completely in any particular canon, but heavily influenced by Post Crisis. She's been adopted by Bruce but the RIP arc hasn't happened. She still remains Batgirl and, in public, goes by Cassandra Cain-Wayne (Although the tabloids frequently refer to her as Cassie Wayne).

Unless stated otherwise, all interactions take place in this verse.

v; Mediocre For A Lifetime... Or Perfect For A Year

Death Wish Verse.

Set in the year before Cassandra's duel with Lady Shiva during her Batgirl run. She can talk but not read and still struggles with a lot of words. When not throwing herself completely into crime fighting she's almost always training. She's pretty closed off and hasn't told anyone exactly what she's planning.

v; Family Isn't Always Home

Black Bat Verse.

Set after Bruce is back from the dead but before Cass is back in Gotham full time. She's still close with Tim but works mostly on her own. She doesn't think she belongs with the family and despite their sort-of-truce has strained relations with Dick and a lot of the hero community.

v; And The Shadows Danced With Her

Rebirth Verse.

Set during the Rebirth canon when Cass is on the team lead by Batwoman. Since the Cass-centric arc hasn't really started the canon of this verse is sort of in flux.
