“OK, but Cassie isn’t old enough to have a cell -” Scott paused. Right, 16. “Yeah, I’ll make sure she gets it.” He nodded. “Again, thanks for helping her and everything...”

Tony stared at the hand for a moment before he reached out and clasped it. “I’m no Rogers, but I have my moments.”

“Yeah, no kidding.” Scott realized he had been shaking Tony’s hand for a while and awkwardly dropped it. “You know what? I’m gonna make my exit. I’ll be back to pick Cassie up later.” He walked to the entrance of the lab before making a left. A few seconds later, he passed the door way again, this time going right. A few second passed again before...”How exactly do I get out of here again?”

“She misses you too, even if she doesn’t show it. As a teenager who resented my parents for a lot of years- and not always for the right reasons… She just needs her space. Let her get her teen angst out through other methods. If building shit in a lab helps her out… well, then we’ll be two peas in a pod.”

Scott nodded. He’d missed out on so much of his daughter’s life already, he didn’t want to miss anymore...but if Cassie wasn’t ready, he could wait. If there was one person worth waiting for, it was her. Scott smiled a bit and stuck out his hand for Tony to shake. “Thanks, that was really good advice. I sort of pegged Cap as the ‘advice guy’, but wow you really nailed it.”

“I know, I know...” Scott agreed. “I just miss her.”

Tony smiled. “Well Cassie is kind of Morgan’s idol. She keeps asking me when me and Mommy are gonna give her a big sister. I have a feeling the birds and bees conversation is gonna happen early with that little bugger.”

“Someone’s gotta tell her it doesn’t exactly work that way.” Scott grinned. “Hopefully Cass is being a good influence on her, but I can tell she takes the job seriously, despite what you saw back there earlier. It’s been good to see this side of her...she’s not exactly my ‘little’ peanut anymore.”

Scott laughed nervously. “Yeah, I hope so. You’re kind of her idol right now. I’m thinking this may make me dad of the year. Or, you know, dad of the week. Hell, I’d settle for dad of the day right now.”
