sorry for being so fixated on the trending tags mechanisms on this stupid fuckass site but it's so fucking funny that bc they've killed all of the other obvious phm tags we now get gracerocky ascendancy

so like 2 weeks-ish ago tumblr very obviously manually removed a bunch of the most used phm related tags from trending eligibility after like.... three+ months of trending #1 or #2 uninterrupted. why? to make this sewer seem more topical? relevant? less cringe? who knows!

it was funny as hell and super obvious bc if you looked into the metrics of any of the trending tags after, they were all well below the recent post amounts for '#project hail mary' which has consistently stayed at around 1K+ recents even still. but bc the fandom is v much still fully feral, every once in a while one of the tags tumblr didn't think to include in the initial sweep will float to the surface like when '#eva stratt' was trending.

basically by tumblr's own hand, they've forced a very active fandom into only being able to trend through more and more bespoke tags.
