• RISES FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL. •

SO. For starters, HELLO. 

I know, I know. I’m horrible. For an array of reasons, this account has sat inactive for a while now. I’ve had a severe lack of muse, && a load of personal issues going on in my life –– mental health issues, physical health issues  

&& suffering abuse that got so bad that basically put me in a position where I had to urgently move from Cali to Arizona && change my phone number –– yeah, it wasn’t so much fun in the sun. It’s been one hell of a ride though.  One day I’d like to bring Pitch back to life, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. HOWEVER. I’ve started role playing again, bit by bit. “No.” He said quietly. “Though not for my sake.” He regarded the other carefully, folding his arms over his chest and watching the other man for a second, his eyes flickering around the room. “More for yours. I’d rather not get angry and change… a shade.”

Interesting. The dark one stopped for a second in thought before continuing to come around to face the other. Head turning, gold oculars scrutinized the dull creature, until one sign pulled through the cloud of his curiosity. “Change a shade?” In a pause, he clasped both hands behind his back in patience. “Fascinating. It’s only a hunch, of course, but I don’t suppose this hue comes in shimmery emerald? Does it?”

“I would prefer not t’ walk around blindly no,” she agreed. “I would go so far as t’ guess it might keep me out o’ trouble or from running into things,” she added. Maybe it was a little bold, but she needed to ease the tension in her stomach and if nothing else - well she’d have to start figuring out where the boundaries were. Hopefully he wouldn’t jump straight to punishment if she was wrong.

The smell that hit her nose when they walked in was unfamiliar. Or rather - it wasn’t something she smelled enough to recognize. There was a sense in the back of her mind that she did know though, and the little sense was twisting her stomach even harder. She had a looming sense of dread with it.

What was more unsettling was the way she could feel Pitch’s demeanor shift beside her. It was an instinctual urge to step away from him. She did her very best not to though and the only sign that he’d see - hopefully - was the flinch of her shoulders at his words. She had nothing to add to this though so she stayed quiet, trying to appear as small as possible. Though she didn’t think he’d turn on her for this…

She relaxed slightly when he addressed her. Somehow his tone was much more soothing when it was just for her. Crystallin hadn’t even realized she was hungry until he’d mentioned it but she nodded. “That sounds fine with me. … I - appreciate you setting up a room for me,” she mentioned slowly. She hesitated telling him that she hadn’t expected him to be this kind to her…

The young woman’s reply was much better compared to her earlier response over the blindfold, which he chose to actively ignore of course, considering it was only their first day. There was gentle hope of course, that she’d soon learn in time what lines not to cross –– after all, most learned just by stories shared in the mafia. All in all, Crystalline didn’t know Pitch at all, but he was sure she had a pretty good idea, and besides, there were worse things to be unsettled about. 

This traitor situation was one of them. Mentally cursing, Pitch turned back to the soldier, expression cold, and threatening. “Clean this mess up, or so help me ––” he cut himself off, sure enough that those in the general area had a bright thought of what would come if they crossed his wires the wrong way. 

Placing a hand behind Crystalline’s back, just between her shoulder blades, he gently added pressure, wanting to guide her away so that they both might retire and settle into their arrangement. And the pace he set was quick, Pitch was rather hungry himself, and food plus his new prized company sounded like the best way to end a long day.

It wasn’t until he led her to their destination,and closed the door behind them that he let out a long sigh, revealing just how done he was with his day. It was just the two of them now, so there was no sense in putting up any fronts. “Alright ––” facing her, he reached his hand around, and untied the blindfold. Removing it, he wrapped it up, and walked around his desk to place it in a drawer. Motioning with his hand, he offered her a seat. “Is that better?” 

Pitch took a seat himself, settling into his chair comfortably, and reached his hand into his pocket for his cigarette and lighter. Lighting one up, he took a puff, relaxing under his exhale, and feeling the stress gently lift from his shoulders. Gold oculars had turned, and were now completely focused on Crystalline. 

It was like buying a new book from a bookstore, but not looking at it properly until it reached the boundaries of your home. Satisfaction had rung in his heart, and he’d be lying if he said he didn’t see Onyx’s disapproval. It was written in her body language, but he was sure in time she’d accept this. By the off chance anything were to happen, they’d just take Crystalline out like they did any traitor, but Pitch was confident this would all work out in his favor.
