Jonathan Joss was an Indigenous, gay man who was murdered on the first day of Pride month as well as Indigenous History Month. He died protecting his trans husband. Homophobia and racism aren’t marks of the past, and this is a heart breaking reminder of that.

november/december was genuinely a crazy time because you had people trying to armchair diagnose cynthia and ariana with like hysteria and calling them mentally ill because they held hands in interviews and didn't actively hate each other. and people would make the most insanely racist jokes about cynthia and act like she's some kind of aggressive attack dog. and if you called them out they'd act like it's fine because cynthia and ariana were kind of weird in that one interview and the movie wasn't that good anyway. the standard we hold women--especially black women--to is absolutely vile
