Do you plan to do 2018?
Unfortunately, due to time constraints, CV Secret Santa isn’t running this year. I meant to make a post announcing it, but it completely slipped my mind. My apologies!Â

CV Secret Santa 2017 is open!

Notes:
1. If your gift ignores your DNWs, does not focus on at least one of your requested characters/pairings, or is a placeholder, please contact the mods by emailing [email protected]. If it doesn't do any of those things, please comment on your gift! It's always important to get thanks for things you've created for someone else.
2. If you are still working on treats, don't worry! The CVSS 2017 collection won't close until next year's CVSS starts up, so you can post gifts to it at any time of the year.
3. If you look at the general Castlevania fandom tag, you may notice that all these shiny new fics aren't on the most recent page. That's because AO3 sorts them by the date they were posted, which was before the 18th, for most of the collection. If you want to put your fic back at the top of the fandom tag, go to the "Edit" menu for that fic. In the "Associations" box in the middle of the page, there's a checkbox that says "Set a different publication date." Check it, and set the date to December 25. Bam, instant visibility.

Less than 3 days until gift reveals!
Gifts uploaded to the CVSS 2017 collection will be revealed no sooner than December 25, 2 PM UTC (countdown here), assuming all last-minute pinch hits have been uploaded in time.
- What should you do while you wait to open your gifts? -
If you have claimed a pinch hit, first of all, thank you! Keep working hard on it.
If the gifts you've uploaded are still unpolished (not spell-checked, contain placeholders, or anything else you want to change), edit them now, before your recipients see them.
If you have nothing else you need to do, consider writing or drawing treats for other participants! Treats are extra gifts created for users that you weren't necessarily assigned to. All participants' requests can be found here, and instructions for uploading treats can be found here.
2 new pinch hits!
The default deadline has passed. A couple participants have been granted extensions, but anyone who hasn’t uploaded their assignment and hasn’t contacted the mods about an extension has been defaulted.
Which means two more requests need a generous writer or artist to claim them! Check them out right over here.
24 hours until assignments are due!
This is your 24-hour reminder that your assignments need to be posted by Sunday, December 17, 11:59 PM UTC. A countdown to that time can be found here.
If you have questions about how to post your gift, check the FAQ. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to email [email protected].
Please note: You can still edit your assignment after you’ve uploaded it and after the assignment deadline! If you want to add more or change things, you’re free to do that up until the collection reveals on the 25th. To edit your gifts, go to your Works page on AO3, and click the Works In Collections button on the right. The gift you upload by the assignment deadline has to be a complete gift, but it does not have to be the absolute final draft of your gift, if you want to make further edits.

Signups are closed
Signups for CVSS 2017 have come to a close! (You may notice the collection still displays them as open. We’re keeping them that way for a few hours, to allow one participant to edit their requests. Speaking of which, if you signed up tonight, check your email.)
After requests have been finalized, we will start matching offers with requests. Matching shouldn’t take longer than three days, and it may be finished within two days if all goes smoothly. Look forward to your assignments!

So, it turns out AO3 did not save the last edit we made to the signup form, which allowed participants to select whether they would like to request/offer fanfiction or fanart. We have fixed that now.
Our apologies to the three people who have already signed up - we will have to delete your signups, and you will have to resubmit them after we’ve fixed the signup form. We will email you the contents of your signup, so if you’ve forgotten what you entered, you can copy and paste.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience! We expected some growing pains getting used to the new system, and we’re just grateful we caught this issue early into signups.
Now that that’s taken care of, go and sign up!

Aaand nominations are done. Signups will open in 3 days.
If some of your nominations have been marked as rejected, it’s because someone else already nominated that tag in a different order. (e.g. if your ”group: Alucard/Maria Renard” tag was rejected, it’s because “group: Maria Renard/Alucard” was already accepted.)
We got a wonderfully big amount of nominations, and since AO3′s formatting can make reading a chunk of tags difficult, we have a neatly-organized list of all the nominations right over here. Start thinking about your requests and offers!
Do we need to pick nominations in order to participate?
You do not! If everything you want to request/offer is already in the tagset, there’s no need for you to nominate extra things for the sake of it. (Likewise, you can nominate without signing up.)
