...I voiced my one fear about Caleb before but a close second fear would be, that if we get Vergesson flashbacks, and Caleb has short hair in it that it won't have the feral energy of one of my fave comic shots:

My thoughts about the Berlin live show, obviously huge spoilers under the cut

Honestly, I really thought Caleb would be this cartoonish evil villian in this (like Trent in EotS) but Liam played him very very passive almost puppet like (but still very mean) and the real horror was Caleb's broken psyche (like Fjord said: "man, Caleb's life sucked!"(well, duh 😅)). So while the environment was very Caleb focused, Caleb as a character was not really present and that allowed the rest of the cast to shine very much. It was imo such a good example how well CR balances attention....

Anyway my personal highlights:

• Fjord winning "Caleb trivia night"

• Veth emotionally trying to reach out for Caleb and then becoming the main target with that move

• dope monk shit

• Essek being in total distress about Caleb but when Jester told everyone in front of Essek that she is worried because Caleb is the most powerful wizard she knows, he instantly became catty lmao also I have to admit the Essek/Caleb dynamic in the beginning was very cute (bickering but still tender)

I'm not the biggest Vaxleth fan, tbh, but they really surprised me in season 4. Especially after Sam's comment on his livestream, I thought I'd be rolling my eyes every time they were on screen... but no.

I loved how the show highlighted how differently they approach fate. Vax is so passive and full of trust in the Matron, while Keyleth is the complete opposite. It's such an interesting dynamic when the god you've devoted yourself to is pulling you in one direction and the person you love is pulling you in another.

Also, I know a lot of people didn't like that Keyleth immediately submitted to the Whispered One, but I actually thought it was great. To me, it showed that their love isn't perfectly healthy. It's flawed and that instantly made the ship a lot more interesting (at least for me).

Papercraft commission of Jester, Caleb, Nott, and Essek (and Frumpkin)! I've been moseying my way through Critical Role and having a lot of fun listening, and was thus very excited for my first time making art of any of the Mighty Nein! (I haven't reached Essek yet but I'm really looking forward to him :D) Plus I always have enormous fun with multi-figure compositions, so this one was extra delightful to make!
